And Bo Jackson was the man. Period. once in a lifetime athlete.

If he had focused just on football, imagine how much more dominant he'd have been. The crazy thing was he never lifted weights either. I knew a guy at my college like him, granted it was NAIA, but dude was built like a bodybuilder... was the best baseball player, best football player (also a RB) and said coaches let him slide on lifting because he played two sports and his production was the best.

I could take all the steroids in the world for a decade and train with top strength coaches and still never be as strong or as fast as Bo. Genetics are a bitch

Herschel Walker didn't lift weights either.   His body was sculpted by pure calestenics.     Pushups, situp, pullups etc.

I also wondered how good he could have been had he not gone to play in the USFL.

Even so...his NFL stats were pretty good:

Walker is another freak. Have you seen his MMA fights? Incredible. Supposedly he eats almost nothing except a salad all day, and does a ton of pushups as a warm up.

My name is Tour and I'm here to help... and split peas... 😉

Biggest contributor I heard (in ESPN's documentary, You Don't Know Bo) was that when Bo's hip pulled out of it's socket, it trapped a major artery when it popped right back into the socket. This went undetected and the reduced blood flow actually caused his hip to "die". IIRC the pinched artery was "found" when they did his hip replacement.

Was that reflected in what you heard?

Dude gets his hip replaced and comes back and still hits home runs.    Freakish athlete.

Saw him at old Municipal stadium playing for the Royals against the Indians.   He put on a show that night.

So did I, in fact in the game I saw him play we were sitting out in the lower left field stands. He strikes out the first three times vs Swindell, and this guy behind me is just riding Bo all game long. At one point, Bo turns around and stares in our general direction. My friend and I are about 13 or so, and damn near piss our pants because we thought Bo thought it was us giving him Sheet and that he was going to jump the outfield fence and beat our asses. 😆 Fourth time up to bat he hits a homer.

Am still really confused on why Alex would still follow Dorsey to Browns? Money won't talk loud for Alex like Cousins this season, but as Pats & Jimmy G...KC's trade partner will..

Because trade is the route to securing Alex's services.

If he wants to play, he'd have no say...

    Rumble, young man, rumble!

rumble or restructure a year to stay a Chiefs back-up😕. listening to Andy & Alex from yesterday I'd say he's gone. It will cost a 3rd(he's 34) but KC sits like 22 in 2nd round with no 1st..I'd guess it would properly also cost a swapping team trade in 2nd round to fall to KC's pick at lucky #22🥷.(#54)why trade him in conference? that would be like 7 teams, to Browns, it would be like Santa Reid giving Alex a jail sentence (ha/Ho)  if Cousin or Eli goes? but that leaves the other Team in Red..the Alex sweepstakes winner is  Arizona Cardinals.. maybe..for January that's my guess..Boooooo! ...(ok Barkley I'll get out of your way)

    BINGO

  • There was some question about Voch Lombardi's comments on Barkley's blocking.

I decided to rewatch the videos and actually listen more closely... I did say videos, because one was a quick look and the other was a fuller draft analysis.

Here, I'll let you listen for yourselves.

This upper one is from last off season.

IMO- Barkley became much better and more consistent as a blocker last season.

    Rushing - A++

    Receiving A

    Returning A

    Pass Blocking B+

Passing A- lol, Come on he was like 2 for 2 and a TD or something 😛

We did have that until we decided to take Barkley #1. Now it's a normal draft and we are #3 overall.

3 of the top 5 will be waiting for us at 3.

The draft is very hard to predict.

But the Browns are not taking Barkley #1.

Not hard to predict if you are predicting the Browns. They always throw their 1st round picks away.

They won't take Barkley at #1, but they'll take a homosexual Cowboy fan at #1? LMAO@ The Browns.

Barkley is THE pick of the draft. If the Browns are stupid enough to pass om him at #1, they won't get a chance at #4

that's Ok running backs are dime a dozen. or you missed out on this thread? Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Adrian Peterson, and Ladanian Tomlinson weren't drafted #1 overall. Damn the Browns really missed out there...   Trent Richardson got drafted #3 overall, and blown out knee Ki Jana Carter #1. wow- I'm so not excited to take a guy at a position that hasn't been drafted #1  overall in the past 20 years.

I love playmakers- especially the biggest ones of all- a franchise QB. So who are the starting running backs for the Eagles and Patriots? Bet you a beer you can't tell me without looking.  😁

You are NEVER crazy about taking pkaymakers. You want to block your way to the fukcing SB. We don't need play makers we have assets.

He was talking about taking a QB #1 overall.   Do you not consider a QB a play maker?

I mean...you have grumbled about the Browns not drafting playmakers...yet in the last several years they have drafted all of the following in the first round:

    QBs Quinn,  Weeden, Manziel

    RB  Richardson

    WR Coleman

    TE Njoku

What you mean to say is that "I applaud the Browns for taking what seemed to be playmakers...yet I acknowledge that the choices they have made for playmakers have been busts".

  • So that's the PoG and Ghoolie kiss of death.

That makes Barkley a hard pass anywhere in the 1st then.

Dude, NOBODY WANTED QUINN, MANZIEL AND WEEDEN. Don't be a jackoff. THe fact that the Browns took someone high does not mean they took premium playmakers. The fukcking list of people they passed on is the problem.

You are a goddamned moron. You think the Browns get a pass for taking Quinn? Dude, NOBODY was jumping on that turd.  The Browns are a laughing stock. COLEMAN? COLEMAN? ROTFLMAO.................. COLEMAN is your example of the Browns going after play makers? How many times were you dropped on your head as a child? Seriously?

They take homosexual Garrett at #1, but could have had Bosa, a year earlier, for less? Get the Fukck out of here with your impotent analytical apologies. They Browns draft schidt. Garrett, Coleman, both schidt. Totally wasted draft picks.

The Browns DO NOT PARTICIPATE in drafting the top playmakers. Who TF do you take Coleman over Doctson? What next? " Ooh, I have a chance to take Jennifer Lopez on a date..........but I am going to take Whoopie Goldturd..................... I mean, she is just as popular....................... so yea.............. I choose Whoopie.

THat is your dumb asss fukcing logic, just because the Browns take someone at a certain position does not have any correlation to whether the guy is an impact player or not.

  • Hey Jackoffs, you didn't like Ben, Petersen, Julio Jones, Goff, , Wentz, and last year Trubisky. We passed on Watt, Bosa, and Doctson.

BUT BUT BUT................... we got a Zumba instructor, and Corey Coleslaw.

If the Browns do not take Barkley at #1, a smarter team will tke him at #2, and the Browns will AGAIN be a laughing stock letting the top player go to another team.

There will be a QB available at 4, and the Browns can package Joe THomas and the #4 to move up and get Mayfield, or whoever they want. Barkley, won't be around.

Don't presume us fans are as ignorant as the Front office has been. I wanted Ben, Wentz, and along with Gipper- Trubisky. Didn't want- or like any of the #22 QB busts. For the record, "it's a sin if we draft Quinn."

Like us fans have any say what the FO is going to do? All I can do is hope Dorsey & Wolfe do a better job of assessing talent than their predesessors.

  • The noise from the pulpit is kind of loud, especially coming from a guy that hailed Paxton Shmucking Lynch as the future.

Oh, I already know - "He's an athlete that hasn't gotten his fair shot yet".

ALL of the guys that the Browns drafted:  TR, Weeden, Coleman, Quinn, JMZ etc.   ALL of them would have been drafted by someone within likely 5 picks of where the Browns took them.

I realize that you likely pay not one moment of attention to the draft ratings, the Mock Drafts, etc.  ...but the fact is EVERY one of the "skill" players the Browns selected were basically unanimously rated to have been taken about precisely where they were taken.

The reason these picks did not turn out is because these players flopped.  If they had not flopped for the Browns...they would have flopped for someone else.  Its just that the Browns have the unlucky streak of taking these flops.  Just because this level of analysis is above your level of comprehension doesn't mean the Browns didn't make the effort.  E.g.  of why you have no clue:  you mention Josh Doctson.  You apparently pay no attention to anything:  Doctson has basically been a bigger flop than Coleman.  He has caught 37 passes in two years. As for nobody wanting somebody...you have been all over Lynch's nutsack....yet he is simply another Quinn, Weeden.JMZ.  So, no. You have zero credibility.

Yes, I wanted Trubisky...and I wanted Bosa.  I didn't pull for Wentz...because I wanted Bosa.  So I was not favoring any of those QBs over any other.

As far as going for Ben R and Julio Jones....I don't remember where I stood on them.  And that is just his revisionist history claiming that he wanted those guys. I do remember thinking that the year after BR...when we had like Dilfer or Garcia at QB that I thought we needed a QB...and I thought that a kid from Cal should be given a serious look. Of course, he didn't get picked until #24...and then spent 3 years on the bench behind Brett Favre.

And I am not sure who he means when he says Peterson.   Patrick? Adrian?

It is ironic though...that the two posters on the exteme end of the spectrum both want the same guy.

    But...I don't know about that guy....and for the #4 spot....I would rather see a playmaker......on defense.
