Camp Edmunds at #4

The Browns Board

  • We play defense with 10 guys.....and Peppers in punt return formation.  If we were to go D at #4 I would HOPE it would be for the FS so as to bring Peppers up closer to the LOS where he was effective in college.

Fitzpatrick is projected to go #4 but he's not a pure center-fielder like Malik Hooker last year.  Edmunds can make plays all over the field with ideal size and speed.

This is like pushing for buying a new car while homeless. LBs are not an issue for the team right now. It is wayy down on the list of needs.

Drafting for need instead of BPA always works out.  This team needs talent.  Taking a potential superstar linebacker if he's the best player available will always make sense.  Injuries in the NFL can turn a strength into a weakness real quick.  0-16 teams should lean toward best player available.  Loading up the front 7 with no future Ronnie Lott or Deion Sanders available seems reasonable.  Edmunds is an athletic freak.

Edmunds is not some generational talent. Need also happens to coincide with talent this year (QB, FS) in the top five.

  • He's a tackle-for-loss machine.  Last guy like that was Khalil Mack.  Mack wasn't a pass rusher out of college but had the potential.  Same as Edmunds.  This guy is 19 and already dominant.  With more experience he looks like a perennial All-Pro.  Freak athlete.  6'5", 250 lbs. with sideline to sideline range and the power and arm length to take on O-Lineman.  Can flip his hips and cover.  Not projected to go top 5, but some team is going to get a steal.  He's in on every play.  Would be fan favorite right away.

See.................. and so it begins. Idiotic draft logic. The Browns pick #1 and #4, have the weakest offensive weapons in the NFL, and someone wants to draft Zumba insructor #2.

Unless the Browns trade the #4 up to #2 and take a QB and Barkely, they will again have a schidt draft. After taking a QB at #1 they will scratch their balls over what to do at #4 because Barkely will be gone. Watch for these idiots to trade down and waste their pick on an OL.

Take the QB at #1 and Edmunds at #4.  Fitzpatrick is short without a true position, just like Peppers.  Edmunds has the talent to be the best LB in football.

6’1 at FS is short? Well at least you didn’t compare him to Khalil Mack.

Peppers was a great athlete who had questionable production from numerous defensive positions. A jack of all trades, master of none.

Fitzpatrick is very good prospect at two different positions. He's practically another coach in the backfield, and Saban absolutely loves the kid.
