Saquon at the Combine!!!!

Saquon, Saquon! He doing about what I expected him to do.
4.41 and 4.42 - 40 yard dash + *233 lbs at 4.4 is pretty impressive despite expectations
Verticle Jump - 41 inches ++
Bench Press - 29 reps +++

Very impressive. But shouldn't we all be extremely disappointed since you told us he would run sub 4.3?
You told us to trust you on him, and you obviously know all about him, so he will not live up to your monstrous expectations?

The guy is a dynamic playmaker, don't pass him up. Depending on which QB you like best, there is an excellent chance of getting him at four, with no pressure on him if we bring in a bridge QB as well.
Zombo
--I like Darnold best, but Barkley/Rosen or Barkley/Mayfield could be a great combo, if our war room likes those guys more or as much.
-
Dorsey word was Best "Player" Available. Not sure where best "Athlete" would fall? Either way, Huejax has not been given a QB talent that will still be sitting at pick #4..get your QB wizard outfit ready again Huey..( some QB, in Dorseys eyes, better really seperate in coming weeks)
-
Since when did 4.40 or 4.42 equal 4.0?
He forgot about the leading 4 Ag. Just too excited.
Yeah, Barkley is good- as Mayock said "he checks all the boxes". Checked them enough that we might potentially have to go with the third best QB? Remains to be seen.
EDIT: I'll (sort of) take that back. To flip picks with the Colts to move up from #4 to #3- should only cost us our #35, which his plenty- going by draft value chart. If we have two quarterbacks rated exactly equal, and another team doesn't offer the Colts a King's Ransom for the #3.

Well Z, we take Barkley @ #1 overall, guaranteed one of Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield will be there. Even better if a team either trades up foolishly (IMHO) or takes Allen @ #2 or #3.
BUT- if we see one of the quarterbacks as a "can't miss" franchise guy- we'll just have to go that route, and take a consolation prize in Guice, or Michel later on in the draft.

Yep, it's a beautiful thing having 1 and 4 this year ... you can get the BPA AND a "franchise QB".
The wild cards are: what happens at #2 and #3? Giants expected to take a QB, Colts could either take a QB or trade out to someone who does, and there is a risk of getting out third choice .. but it all depends on who we like the best and who they like the best ... and no one knows. Those two teams could also become trading partners if we take Barkley and "have to have" another guy. All very interesting.

You know it's funny everyone saying about this amazing draft capital that the Browns have, and they certainly do. Even talking about getting 2 great players, whether that is 1 QB and 4 Barkley or Minkah or 1 Barkley and 4 QB
But the complaining last year when they traded 12 and the Browns didn't get Hooker or Howard. Seems like the Browns made a good call on that trade last year huh.

Don't start that again, lol

Dri Archer ran a 4.26.....and where does he stand among all the great RBs in NFL history? And he has been cut by 3 teams. So...pure speed is irrelevant. It does not hurt to be fast....and his numbers are above average....but that alone mean little. The other numbers are good...bu...again...t also mostly irrelevant to a RB. Maybe he will have to jump high to catch a few passes. And he has to be strong to block and to break through lines....but otherwise, meh

Still don't want a HB that high
Or a Wingback? if we are going with outdated terminology?

The guy considered the best "Player" in this draft....is likely the OG out of Notre Dame.....Quenton Tarantino Nelson. So....we likely will not be going for the best player available.

Pure manimal!
Don't screw this up Dorsey! You take this beast number 1 overall and the next best available QB. Don't be an idiot!

I'm starting to buy the comparisons to Tomlinson, but LT lasted to #4 IIRC. Meaning Saquon is going to be overdrafted. The hype train is revving up big time.

Dorsey sat down with Sirius NFL radio right after Day 1 presser. Was asked "draft for position or BPA"? Dorsey responded "always BPA". And yes Dorsey could be leading other dawgs(GM's) down a dead end path..Not sure your a tape guy? But #9 Bradley Chubb took on both McGlinchey & Nelson at ND.Sometimes both.NC State got bullied..Mostly when coaches took Chubb off field. Fairly good match up of talent..
blur spot.. 3/4 through game tape. it will come back or FF video..The RB position cap on Barkley must be huge for Dorsey to take him #1..

I like Barkley. I think he's an impressive prospect, and I think some of his issues last season with mediocre games can be accounted for by defenses obviously selling out to stop him, and daring Baker Mayfield-Lite to beat them. Barkley was getting hit the second he got the ball vs OSU repeatedly.
But people want to use the #1 pick on a player:
1. Whose position has the shortest shelf-life of any position in football
2. Who plays a position that time after time has been ably filled by lower drafted players
3. Who plays a position that many teams prefer to rotate multiple players to fill instead of depending on one workhorse
4. Who plays a position generally devalued in 2018 NFL
I just do not see the logic in taking Barkley or practically any RB ever this high.

To bad we had to sit down and eat that 16 week Sh it sandwich they served up though.

Ya.... but if you can get the shelf life Adrian Peterson had...
RB is another glaring hole on the roster and really has been for a while.
having a superior runner is a huge plus for any QB
if you don’t see a QB in the draft that separates himself from the pack... and you have pick 4 to take the pick of the ones left...
Would you trade the number 1 pick for Elliott? I feel like I would. Especially giving the Browns draft history. Christ with the Browns draft history... I’d give away all the draft picks for proven vets... all the Browns do is waste first round picks...

After taking Gilbert though, I damn well don't want to take a CB #1. We should really take barkley.
