The truth is, the Patriots play different defenses, but they don't have a big NT once Alan Branch
retires/leaves - he's 33. All their other dlinemen are 315/300. Adding Shelton to the mix will help them
avoid another super bowl, where they faced an excellent defense, and they gave up about 150 yards rushing
at the worst times. That third round pick can get the Browns a very good player that fits.
I admire Danny Shelton - but he can shine as a NT for the Patriots. Good luck to him.

Yeah, you can't fall in love with a particular player (with maybe the exception of Joe Thomas) Bill B doesn't. Let's face it, for where he was drafted Shelton under performed at least a little. Haloti Ngata he isn't.

he's not a 4-3 guy plan and simple he played less than 50% of plays last year infact the exact # was 44% so i really do not understand why some people here are flipping out they make it sound like Shelton was headed for a yellow jacket

"Well there goes ANOTHER jersey!". Shelton's is his original Browns' #71, which was changed to #55 when Mack left. Danny then signed it for me with his new #55 & he wrote "Throwback" on it.
1) I'm not buying another until they change 'em in 2020 unless I can get a vintage Clay Matthews Jr #57 for a decent price.
2) From now on, no more buying current players jerseys.

I'm so tired of the "Moneyball Analytics Guys" vs "Football Guys" talk from Browns fans. (Nothing against you specifically Canton Dawg, just a general thought)
I just want someone to come into the Browns front office and turn this team around. I don't care if that person is a lesbian ex-hockey playing lawyer who is the distant relative of Paul Brown and George Halas who majored in art history at the University of Michigan.

From what I can gather, this was a Greg Williams thing. Shelton strictly played the run with no pass rush and although very good, in Williams schemes, he wants his DTs to be able to rush the passer. I guess they like LO and Brantley enough to let him go. Even though Shelton is on the cheap this year ($2 million), I think his fifth year option if exercised jumps to $12 million or so. I don't love the trade, but who knows. I kind of get the feeling that Dorsey feels as though he has too many draft picks this year and just wants to get rid of them.

Just because Shelton cost a 1st round pick does not mean that he was worth a 1st round pick.
If you were a GM would you give the Browns a 2nd for Kizer? Hell no.

If you recall, shelton didn't like the browns parade and complained a bit. He said both these things.
Can’t wait for things to start rolling the right way for the Browns. Funny how these “fans” will be the ones that say “I am a die hard Browns fan” but fans don’t disrespect their home team.
I know we still have some faithful fans out there, things will get better! 
There are players on this team who want to play and win for the Browns and The Land. Parading around isn’t encouraging a change, it’s more so encouraging players to avoid the opportunity to play here. 1-31 isn’t what we want to be known for but we won’t stop fighting to win here.
- my thoughts are chances are that Shelton wasn't feeling the Browns anymore. Maybe Greg Williams didn't like him much, or Dorsey didn't think he was a "real player", but I think it was a combination of both. Also, maybe Danny had bad work ethic and a toxic attitude. That's obviously not a fact, but it can't be disproven either. Our trade to the pats was a Jamie Collins-esque trade, as we thought he'd for sure leave after next year.
another theory is that Jimmy traded him to save money and free up more cap room. but I believe the answer is a combination of both theories.
