Call me a whiner.

I feel for Chic John. This place is nearly as big as the football board, yet he's supposed to mod it all by himself. Instead of being able to enjoy contributing to the board, he probably ends up spending most of his time sifting through all the bullshit.
Sev was right to suggest that Stan add another mod or two to this board; it'd be wise to divvy up the responsibility of moderating this place.
And we could also divvy up the authority. If people here are worried about partisan moderation, we could appoint a bipartisan team of guys who will work together. If one guy goes too far in moderating the opposing side, he'll hear about it from his fellow mod.
So it'd be important that the two guys get along. For instance, I could see mz the pussy could work alongside John. Or Heck could work with Tupa. Or Legacy could work with any of the liberals here. Juki could work with the opposite of whatever he is. So could Sev.
There are plenty of reasonable, sane people on this board. Let's do something to make sure they're not overwhelmed by the tides of stupidity.

They are just upset that there is a Black guy going to the White House, and are afraid of a person with intelligence. They will fizzle out eventually.what ever dude! you think thats the reason i post? your ignorant and so is your statement!
Obama is not qualified, just watch he is dumber than george W. Its the fact he is so far left, not skin color.
If thats all you have to add you should go back to the closet you climbed out of. Obama is not the problem here. Its Socilist America that is the problem and all of the idiotic thinking that is being preached across the media. you sir are not that the sharpest knive in the drawer. you are a follower and not one who thinks for themselves.
and this mz the pussy chic she is really wacked out! i would be careful reading her shit.

I don't think anyone should expect John to keep up with all of this. I mean, look at the board. 90% of the threads are paranoid nonsense. And even the ones that aren't are usually derailed by paranoid nonsense.
At this point, if you want to have a discussion, you might as well PM somebody.
A friend was just telling me about his brother-in-law who works in the Secret Service, and from what he was saying it sounded like there was a fairly significant uptick in new threats for the president-elect. To anyone who has been on this board in the past year, how could that come as a surprise?
-
there is no paranoia here it is research, and that is what you should of done before you supported your messiah obama.
you are very ignorant sir! your arogance will have enslave you, but you will not notice because you want to have someone rule over your pathetic life.

If you say Barack Obama is not qualified, how exactly would McCain/Palin be any more qualified? His economic policies were the same ones that put us where we are now. His foreign policy policies reflect that of a cold war leader. This is now a uni-polar world and we cannot treat our enemies like we did the USSR, and diplomacy is a good thing. Him being a prisoner of war did not make him anymore qualified to be commander in chief. His social policies would have shit over individual rights, much to the joy of the extreme right. His running mate was a corrupt and completely inept politician that would have been a travesty to have anywhere near the whitehouse.
John McCain would have had a better chance if it weren't for his entirely negative campaign full of fear mongering and lies. I like John McCain as a man, and even voted for him in 2000, but Obama was clearly and distinctly the better candidate this year.
You just watch, Obama will be a centrist president. There will be no socialism. Our standing on the world stage will improve and we will finally having some of the best minds in the nation running the nation, just like the founding fathers intended for it to be.

I'm all for a "Sanity Coalition." This is crazy. I personally don't have the time to wade through the garbage as I'm sure most dont, and therefore would rather not assume any responsibility with regards to removing posts. But I'd be happy to play Roberts to somebody's Breyer via PM or in the threads, if necessary.

There's really nothing to it.
I can't for the life of me understand why you guys mostly the ones happy to post the Bush Palin McCain hate lunacy )just flat out refuse to do that.
You can ban everybody who you don't like and never see another post, really.
Think of the joy of discussing cap and trade for ten thousand word cut and pastes at a time!!
Or "Capitalism: Threat or Menace?"
Personally I think you guys woul rather bitch about it than simplify your board experience.
Why do you suppose that is?

Thanks, Heck.
I really don't want nor need sympathy. I do the best I can. I work full time - sometimes it might be hard to tell - have a wife and two kids that sometimes need or want my attention, and have a dog that wants and needs a run in the woods every morning.
Folks might be surprised if they saw how many posts I actually delete. Unfortunately, recently I decided to take down three entire threads.
I'm not sure if another moderator or two would make a difference with certain posters. Some of what they say is OK, some is borderline, and I like to focus on what I consider to be way over the line - comics of big-lipped Obama, etc.
Using the ignore button is probably the best bet for those wanting to be insulated from what they consider to be stuff that is over the line.
For what it's worth, I don't believe Stan has deleted anything on this board. If he has, it is news to me.
We don't all have to disagree, but we should respect each other - and that also means acting in a way that fosters respect and dignity.

That's a totally inaccurate assesment. For me, it's not about user bans or whatever, it's the convoluted garbage that mucks up the index page. I made the original post above only 3 hours ago, and to have to break out a GPS unit, metal detector, and a Y-shaped stick to find the thread is extremely irritating. This would not be the case if the dingleberry's I had to comb through were actually worth reading.
It's not about whining or removing somebody's right to post or "just ignoring it," Steve, it's a tax.

There are about what, 25 posts topics per page, right?
So just looking at the authors I know which ones not to open.
So that's not all that taxing to me.
If I open up a topic from somebody I might want to read, the guy I have on ignore's posts on that subject aren't there, only those I didn't ignore.
I gotta think that at least in XXXX and XX and XXX's case it's like the car wreck they're compelled to look at.
BTW the guy I ignore doesn't offend me, he's just an idiot that clutters things up so I understand that part.

It is oftentimes impossible to even find that response you're looking for because 45 threads about brownshirts pushed the thread I'm looking for into WSS' movie review forum.

Actually there are like 50 posts crying about theone brownshirts post.
Which I assume was an anti Obama post.
Just a guess......

These are always great:

This one is perfect for the board.

Okay, Heck, that is hilarious. Congrats.
But the truth is, y'all won, you libs you. So, we'll see if Nobama is pres of everybody,
or not.
Could be pretty interesting.
But Obama's VOTES on other legislation in Illinois have never been explained by you guys.
So, since MousesucknadZ is trying to manipulate control over the board,
let him have at it.
I'm busy.
Did Shepbites and MousesucksnadZ ever get married or not?
(I'll put em on my ignore list)

So, since MousesucknadZ is trying to manipulate control over the boardYeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm merely trying to have a conversation with someone without some moron talking about messiahs and brownshirts intervening.

(I'll put em on my ignore list)Perfect. You have no interest in conversation anyhow...all you do is talk to yourself.

I'm just waiting for you or Shepbites to have ANYTHING INTELLIGENT to say.
After weeks of waiting, I easily fall back on my humor.
It must really SUCK to be so arrogant, you wet the bed or whatever because people
don't believe in what you do and won't stop it.

Have patience my brothers, things are going to change soon.

They aren't about politics... unless you think Cal's "bad black people being mean to good white soldier babies" is politics.
Perfectly appropriate.
You'd shit if it were a white teacher picking on the black kids.
Maybe the "sanity coalition" could do a quick survey of your posts Shep.
My guess is 20 to 1 are based on personal attacks.

Cal just had his post erased where he passed on a joke about the Obamas/black people being monkeys.
I would have preferred they left it up.
