I'm all for a "Sanity Coalition." This is crazy. I personally don't have the time to wade through the garbage as I'm sure most dont, and therefore would rather not assume any responsibility with regards to removing posts. But I'd be happy to play Roberts to somebody's Breyer via PM or in the threads, if necessary.

I can't for the life of me understand why you guys mostly the ones happy to post the Bush Palin McCain hate lunacy )just flat out refuse to do that.
You can ban everybody who you don't like and never see another post, really.

Or "Capitalism: Threat or Menace?"
Personally I think you guys woul rather bitch about it than simplify your board experience.

I really don't want nor need sympathy. I do the best I can. I work full time - sometimes it might be hard to tell - have a wife and two kids that sometimes need or want my attention, and have a dog that wants and needs a run in the woods every morning.
Folks might be surprised if they saw how many posts I actually delete. Unfortunately, recently I decided to take down three entire threads.
I'm not sure if another moderator or two would make a difference with certain posters. Some of what they say is OK, some is borderline, and I like to focus on what I consider to be way over the line - comics of big-lipped Obama, etc.
Using the ignore button is probably the best bet for those wanting to be insulated from what they consider to be stuff that is over the line.
For what it's worth, I don't believe Stan has deleted anything on this board. If he has, it is news to me.
We don't all have to disagree, but we should respect each other - and that also means acting in a way that fosters respect and dignity.

That's a totally inaccurate assesment. For me, it's not about user bans or whatever, it's the convoluted garbage that mucks up the index page. I made the original post above only 3 hours ago, and to have to break out a GPS unit, metal detector, and a Y-shaped stick to find the thread is extremely irritating. This would not be the case if the dingleberry's I had to comb through were actually worth reading.
It's not about whining or removing somebody's right to post or "just ignoring it," Steve, it's a tax.

There are about what, 25 posts topics per page, right?
So just looking at the authors I know which ones not to open.
So that's not all that taxing to me.
If I open up a topic from somebody I might want to read, the guy I have on ignore's posts on that subject aren't there, only those I didn't ignore.
I gotta think that at least in XXXX and XX and XXX's case it's like the car wreck they're compelled to look at.
BTW the guy I ignore doesn't offend me, he's just an idiot that clutters things up so I understand that part.
