No, Boo is just trying to argue that garbage doesn't stink in NE.

Hard to get open when you dont know where the ball is going.

Briit had to learn a new offense last season after being cut. 2016, his 3rd year in the Rams offense - 1000 yards, 5 TDs and 2 100 yard games. Briit tweaked a hamstring and landed on PUP. He is definitely in the Pats plans and not because of Edelman.

Good WRs don't have a hard time getting open. Bad ones do. You can put your Lancelot armor on for NE all you want Boo. It doesn't change if you have a specified 7 route or 9 route called for the WR - he's expected to run the route (unless they have an audible or predetermined route adjustment) and get open.  The film will show who didn't get it done.  The receiver doesn't say "the QB won't be able to get it there so here's 2 middle fingers -  I'm running a 4 route instead."  It doesn't work like that.

I lived in Nashville for 11 years and was there the entire time Kenny Britt rarely justified the 1st round pick.  He was arrested in 2011 in NJ. In 2012 he was arrested again in NJ and charged with resisting arrest.

Anyway, here's the career stats of the guy you're arguing about:

    2017 3 Games 2 receptions for 23 yds 0 TD in NE  9 Games 18 Rec 233 yds 2 TDs in CLE

    2016 15 Games 68 rec 1002 yds 5 TD Rams

    2015 16 Games 36 rec 681 yds 3 TD Rams

    2014 16 Games 48 rec 748 yds 3 TD Rams

Kizer led the NFL in INTs with 22. How many more were dropped by the defense.

Lots of offenses dont have specified routes called. Its read and react how the defense is playing you after the ball is snapped. Just because a defense lines up a certain way pre snap does not mean that is the coverage.

2016 Britt didnt have any problem getting open and catching the ball after 3 years in the Rams offense and with only Case Keenum throwing the ball. Britt must have clicked with Keenum and thats important. You watched a new QB in Tennessee every year.

In a world where Belichick always says "do your job" and an experienced Tom Brady was his QB - your Kenny Britt had 2 receptions for 23 yards in 3 games.

He did not play. Held out because he did not know the offense.

Do you really think you need to tell anyone on this board that Kizer struggled - especially the guy who called him the Forfeit?

That said, if you're going to argue all Britt needed was an accurate QB for much better production - in this comparison Britt had 2 receptions per game with Kizer and only 2 receptions in 3 games played with Brady.  As I said to you already - the experienced Brady preferred the receivers that get open and run good routes.

You can celebrate that 2016 exception to the rule all you want.   I'm not nearly as impressed with a 1st round NFL WR that has played 9 years and only exceeded 42 receptions once and only exceeded 775 yards once while averaging only 3.5 TDs a year.

FWIW, I tried to talk myself into him too when he was 1 of the only available veteran WRs that would have touched our 2017 situation with a 10 foot pole.

  • Britt was a cancer.

He whined and cried the whole time.

He groaned about playing in London.

He stayed out all night with Coleman partying the night before Hogan got his one and only start.

Shmuck him and his 500,000 dollars per catch salary...

? Come on Lancelot - all that sniffing Britt's garbage is making you silly!  There's nothing garbage about Fitzgerald's 109 receptions in his 14th NFL season in 2017 - that's why you made sure you didn't include them.

Here's Fitzgerald's career stats where his average # of receptions, yards and TDs blow away Kenny Britt's. In fact, count how many times he had more than Britt's career best of 68 rec and 1002 yards.

Kizer struggled? He has no business in the NFL, so stop acting like Britt had anyone competent throwing the ball in Cleveland. Yew, had his playcalling duties stripped. What were you expecting from Britt? To light up the AFCN?

Do you really think that a player can to go to a new team and not have a learning curve? Forget about Briit last year in NE. He was not in the NE training camp.

His number are not nearly as dire as you make them out to be. In 92 games, Briit has averaged 52 yards a game, 3 receptions per game.

4 seasons of at least 681 yards and 3 TDs

    2010 - 12 games 42 receptions, 775 yards and 9 TDs

    2011- 3 games 17 receptions, 289 yards and 3 TDs.

If he makes the team its not because of Edelman. Its because NE sees potential.

? So, you're blaming Kenny Britt's disappointing 9 year career as a 1st round WR all on Kizer when they were only sentenced to each other for 9 games?  The numbers reflect Britt only averaged 2.8 receptions per game with just 570 yards and 3.5 TDs per season.  He was very consistent at being inconsistent all except 1 of the 9 years.

Actually it's July 30 and I'm watching the INDIANS in a 4-4 game in the 8th inning........ yeah we're talking about BROWNS salary follies too.

  • can we not bring up kizer, like at all? honest to god id gotten him out of my system and essentially forgot who are qb was last year. Obviously if pressed i would rem it but id done a goid job of putting the chargers and packers game, among others, in the back of my mind. Its the same weedons time here, u technically remember it but the vividness is mercufully diminished. I saw the shovelpass live and its something i never thought, until kizer came along, that id see its equal in stupidity

Why not? As I said when we signed him- beware of guys coming off of contract years. Hah- he's so great, his current contract with the Patriots is only around $500k more than vet minimum. Looking at spotrac, almost none of that is guaranteed. He can be cut at any time, and it only costs Bill and the Patriots $150k to make him go away.

Its because NE sees potential.

was britt even activated for any of the playoff games last year ?

oh wait I know the answer NO

Because he did not know the offense.

    Its not baseball.

But somehow 2016 Britt racked up 1000 yards and 5 TDs.

2017 Larry Fitzgerald 1156 yards and 6 TDs. Garbage.

Britt had a season as good as Fitzgerald.

You think that Antonio Brown could come to the Browns last year and Kizer would be Ben. Hallucinations are no laughing matter.
