imo, the injury info was already out in media? no? ..all i get is Hue power tripping a)hue trumped Wylie to Z on moving Joel. Hue told media than "you all ask my assistants far too many questions". b) Hue questions Denzel & Randall on practice field," are we listening" c) RB coach & Haley get Hue trabbled next, questioning toughness/absent from field..d) now it's Greggs turn..Gregg never called Denzel stupid, but yes he called out Denzel for stupid tackling techniques..sounds to me denzel does not accept coaching to well & Williams knows it..  Hues going down swinging with "this is my team" or  we might need a marsh "mellow" campfire at Hue's place after lions game..

Well, it is Hue's fucking team.

Put yourself in his shoes, is he supposed to kowtow to his assistants?

You may not like his style, you as a fan might respect Williams or Haley more, but it doesn't make him wrong ... it's his ship, and as long as it is, things get done his way.

Unbelievable, you are correct about something. Hoorta and Flugel believe that the Head Coach Answers to the coffee fetchers.

Hue runs the team. He owns Greg WIlliams. He doesn't need Greg Williams, and if he decides to get rid of him, WIlliams is gone. Williams is a coffee fetcher and he is Hue's biitch. Make no mistake.

Great retort. You really showed me.

I think Mr. 1-31 (I think you just said he blows in another thread) should be listening to his coffee fetchers. For the record <again> both Williams and Haley have better records as Head Coaches than Huey.

Jackson keeps it up- he's going to be the one sitting on the couch having coffee and doughnuts, watching Haley or Williams run the team. Only reason he's still the head coach is Jimmy & Dee knew if they fired Hue after racking up the worst two season record in the history of the NFL- they might find a D III college coach willing to take the job for a year. There wouldn't have been a top coaching candidate worth a damn willing to take over if they knew they were going to get fired after a year or two. I'm not sure how many wins it will take for Hue to keep his job, but I damn guarantee you it's going to have to be way more than a couple.

    Larry,

if YOU owned the team then I could understand listening to you. You have always had this fantasy bullschidt belief that The HC, OC, and DC are all in the same boat, That the owner has not yet made up his mind and he has hired and OC and DC, so he can sit back and watch who among the three he is going to eventually let run his team.

I was the very first to guarantee that Hue Jackson was a complete failure. I haven't budged from that, but THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE.

Haslam is not going to fire Hue jackson. He WILL allow Jackson to fire Williams and Dinky-Dump. Dude, IF Hue was not IN with the Haslams, 1 -15 would have surely got him fired. 0- 16? 1 - 31? And you think 0 - 4 will get him fired? LMAO. Dude, Haslam's wife tells Jimmy what to do. SHe loves the black cause, she isn't going to let Hue go. Hue has already shown public indifference with his OC and DC. These conflicts you see, are moments of truth. When the team again blows, Hue will point to these moments when his coordinators were bucking his system.

    Coordinators are coffee fetchers.

Haslam sure as hell will fire Jackson if his record this year is lousy enough, only question would be when. I won't posit how many wins it will take for Hue to save his job, but the over\under is probably 6. I'm not buying your fantasy that somehow Hue has the Haslams hypnotized. You can only pass the buck and blame others for your failures for so long. Hue is out of mulligans- and he damn well knows it.

When Hue was hired in 2016, he brought in his old pals Al Saunders, Pep Hamilton, and Ray Horton. His choice of assistants (BTW, every one of that staff is gone) was about as good as some of his player decisions like RG III, Kaiser Wilhelm, and trying to trade for McCarron.

If you think Hue was solely responsible for hiring Williams and Haley- you've been smoking something. They were hired primarily if\when Hue screws up again there's an easy out to promote a quality interim coach.

Finally- Hue firing one of his coordinators (incidentally, Haley is more fire proof than Hue this year) to save his sorry a-s-s if things go south would be the classic cut off your nose to spite your face, because it won't work, and Hue will be gone regardless.

  • I don't look at it in terms of how many wins Hue needs.  I look at it in terms of losses.  If we lose double digit games, Hue better be fired.

That is being fair.  Personally I don't like Hue at all.  He is a insecure little punk who I would have punked some time back.

Hue "was allowed to" hire Gregg Williams..Gregg coaches his way. this wussification of stupid name calling could have been addressed by Hue long ago..not making a sample out of your #4 pick..

Hue Jackson "was not allowed" to hire his own OC..John Dorsey was & did..same as Dorsey has full control of roster..when Haslam strikes fire, it's either Hue or Dorsey? Think the frontrunner is still Hue Jackson? Haslem sure don't.. Here's a theory right up your alley..Dee & Mrs Jackson love dinking their victory doughnuts every morning than discussing Jackson's foundation..Take one for the team & stop this love affair ?

  • Lawson Holland called it..

Hue is a one way type of coach and he even told me that Steve Spurrier made a terrible decision hiring him as RBs coach back in '02

Lawson was the tight ends coach and he told me how arrogant Hue was back then.

its the hypocrisy for me, Z.  go to the media to bitch about an assistant going to the media?  simply bush league.  tells me hue aint got the stones to deal with williams one on one.

I just look at it as "If it was so and so ... ", like name a respected coach (Bill, Tomlin, McCarthy, Reid etc...) if they call out their DC then everybody goes "damn .... That's how good teams do it, the run a tight ship and keep their assistants in their place."

But Ol 1-31 Hue does it to one of his Hard Knocks TV Star coordinators and it's "oh my gosh he looks like such an idiot ... "

He looks like an idiot because he's 1-31.

He has no choice but to act like a leader while he is the leader and tell guys to shut up and do things his way. If you're going to be the head coach, be the head coach.

That's a different argument from whether he should be the head coach.

The term "punk"  has many more connotations than just the "street punk" image that you must think it exclusively means.  A "punk" can simply be a short person....along with other meanings.

  • I guess we can look tonite for Hue addressing the issue face-to-face with Williams.

But I'm not holding my breath...

& Now Hue wants to be Mr. Tough Guy with his coordinators? Hard for a head coach who just racked up the worst two year record in NFL history to command any respect. Williams and Haley were brought in to save his sorry a-s-s, and MHO is Jackson IS an idiot if he doesn't listen to them. I'd hazard a guess they're both more respected around the league than Hue.

PS- it was brought up on another board Haslam was a part owner of the Steelers, just may be the reason Haley is with the Browns now.

We'll see how it plays out over the next few months, but it's reinforcing my opinion Hue is in way over his head.

ill party with bro and bang his girls friend. you have to be a team player.

  • Have no issue with Williams calling out Ward or Hue calling out Williams.  The bigger issue for me is I think Ward was a bad pick at 4 and won’t produce the way you’d like the 4th pick to.   Add that to the questionable Mayfield selection and it seems like deja vu.
