Weather only benefits the team that can benefit from it on any given play. Until the game is being played, weather doesn't favor anyone.

Brilliant.    Weather won't affect a game until you actually play the game.

I think, what has happened is that, given your profession, you have actually become water intoxicated, which has lead to mental illness.

(Which is a real thing, because early in my career I handled a commitment case where this really happened)

Numbnuts, weather is weather. At game time it benefits nobody. On any given play it can affect a play, then a game. But to predict who it favors? YOu must have been one loser of an atty. Really, you and Hoorta run neck and neck for TBB King Jackoff.

  • The weather just bums me out. I have been jacked up for this game for quite awhile. Sitting in a deluge of 4 inches of rain wont even be remotely fun even in the raingear that will keep me dry.

The only rain you have to worry about is Steeler rain beating down the Browns. You won't get that wet. You will be home, crying by the third quarter.

Will his crying resemble the tears that flowed from your eyesockets when you were banned from this board?

You remember? You went to Stan and begged him to pleasepleaseprettypleaseletmebackonohhowwillilivewithoutit?

You know, this board that you tell people who don't care about that you begged to get back on?

Just saw the updated weather report for Sunday. Looks like the remnants of TS Gordon is due to hit the area in the afternoon of the game.. With a 1PM kickoff, lets hope that we get off to a quick start and rack up a 10 point lead and then the downpour happens and we lock the game down.

Talking about the possibility of 3 to 4 inches of heavy and steady rainfall.. Timing will be everything.

Is this good or bad for us? I think bad if it is early in the game.. Not sure these new guys have played in this type of weather before...

Shucks, the Ohio State wimps delayed the game until the rain stopped, that won't happen in Cleveland. I'll be at the game and bring the appropriate rain gear.

The game at Ohio State was delayed because of lightning. That is an NCAA rule not an Ohio State decision. In fact if I am not mistaken the same rule applies in the NFL. So if there were to be lightning in the vicinity around the Browns game it to would be postponed in the middle of the gameThe game at Ohio State was delayed because of lightning. What the hell are you talking about. He's the poster child! (Hang down your head "Tom Ghoolie"-loved that Kingston trio song).?

  • if the newest reports are true i look for it to be moved to diff day no way can play in them conditions

  • Football is a game for any weather.  They should not cancel.

  • Last I saw the worst of the rain will be south of Cleveland, basically going right along I-76.... (Akron)

It's going to be bad, but possibly not the end of the world bad.

  • AS long as they is no lightening... PLAY BALL!!!

  • When is last time you can remember there was a critical lightning strike during a game?

They are so careful with the radar and strike detection equipment -but- a strike in a stadium would be a bad day......ouch.

For some reason I thought some soccer player got killed by lightning... ?

I remember Lee Trevino getting knocked to the ground by a bolt... back in the 70's??? First "game" I can remember being suspended was one of the last College All-star games in Chicago. I remember "freeze frames" of multiple strikes in the stadium area before play was suspended. As I remember the game was finally called off due to the dangerous weather.

But seriously one of the reasons there hasn't been a recent incident is that precautions are now taken.

I've been within 50-yds of a lightening strike. I was standing in a open Maintenance building bay door having a smoke and watching the rain when a bolt hit the structure of the operating unit I was supervising at the time.

All I can say is I should have been wearing brown pants. It was one of the loudest noises I have heard in my 60+ years.

  • Flooding does kill more people than lightning. If the city is in some kind of flood emergency situation...flooded underpasses, ramps, roads..etc, the stadium may be just fine but the game could still be cancelled. 7 inches in 24 hours might do it. Depends on the exact track but folks around here are taking it seriously. Sandbags are in the low areas already.

why would they not have considered moving the game up to Saturday? (concert?other stadium events?)

Because now it's looking like the rain track will be further south. Pissburgh is in line for the douching
