Weather and this Sunday

Brilliant. Weather won't affect a game until you actually play the game.
I think, what has happened is that, given your profession, you have actually become water intoxicated, which has lead to mental illness.
(Which is a real thing, because early in my career I handled a commitment case where this really happened)

Sincerely, your only friend on this board, TG
Numbnuts, weather is weather. At game time it benefits nobody. On any given play it can affect a play, then a game. But to predict who it favors? YOu must have been one loser of an atty. Really, you and Hoorta run neck and neck for TBB King Jackoff.

Actually I would make a great attorney for you after all who else do you know that has experience dealing with water intoxicated mental illness like yours. Sincerely your only friend on this board TG

Shucks, the Ohio State wimps delayed the game until the rain stopped, that won't happen in Cleveland. I'll be at the game and bring the appropriate rain gear.
The game at Ohio State was delayed because of lightning. That is an NCAA rule not an Ohio State decision. In fact if I am not mistaken the same rule applies in the NFL. So if there were to be lightning in the vicinity around the Browns game it to would be postponed in the middle of the gameThe game at Ohio State was delayed because of lightning. Football is a game for any weather. They should not cancel.
-
Last I saw the worst of the rain will be south of Cleveland, basically going right along I-76.... (Akron)
It's going to be bad, but possibly not the end of the world bad.

When is last time you can remember there was a critical lightning strike during a game?

When is last time you can remember there was a critical lightning strike during a game?
I remember Lee Trevino getting knocked to the ground by a bolt... back in the 70's??? First "game" I can remember being suspended was one of the last College All-star games in Chicago. I remember "freeze frames" of multiple strikes in the stadium area before play was suspended. As I remember the game was finally called off due to the dangerous weather.
But seriously one of the reasons there hasn't been a recent incident is that precautions are now taken.
I've been within 50-yds of a lightening strike. I was standing in a open Maintenance building bay door having a smoke and watching the rain when a bolt hit the structure of the operating unit I was supervising at the time.
All I can say is I should have been wearing brown pants. It was one of the loudest noises I have heard in my 60+ years.

Flooding does kill more people than lightning. If the city is in some kind of flood emergency situation...flooded underpasses, ramps, roads..etc, the stadium may be just fine but the game could still be cancelled. 7 inches in 24 hours might do it. Depends on the exact track but folks around here are taking it seriously. Sandbags are in the low areas already.

why would they not have considered moving the game up to Saturday? (concert?other stadium events?)

They're talking 3-5 inches in Cleveland, further south from Canton to South of Columbus they could get 5-8 inches. Better get your basements ready.

That plus the logistics of getting a game a day earlier compared to postponing for convenience.
whats this postponing crap you speak of ? is it seriously being talked about ?
