Josh Gordon Traded to Pats
-
Eggs-actly O. We don't know, and neither does Trollie- what happened when the Browns decided enough was enough with Josh. It had to be something serious or a cumulation of mis steps by Josh.
Actually it was twice Gordon having the opportunity to rejoin the Browns and something came up. It was time, and probably past time for the Browns to say- we don't care how good you are, you're just too much of a pain in the azz, and too f**king unreliable for us to keep you around anymore. We played the role of the understanding wife with a drunk husband far too long. If he's clean and sober now- in his lifetime that will be a first. Sometimes in a situation like that- it's exactly what the offending party needs to get his life straight.
Just hope we didn't cut off our nose despite our face cuz I saw who Baker was throwing to last week...and yo.

Of course the Browns knew Gordon could potentially revert to Pro-Bowl form. Our guys got hurt on top of that- it happens.
There's still some here who think because of what Gordon did back in 2013 he should get unlimited chances. Life in the NFL doesn't work that way. He'd still be here IF he was just able to follow team rules. Josh has no one to blame but himself. As some have posited, maybe he was trying to write his ticket out of town.

It absolutely befuddles me that there are still people out there who will simply refuse to accept the fact that JOSH GORDON DID NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR THE BROWNS AND WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO PULL STUNTS TO AVOID DOING SO.

I'm fine with Dez. I'd roll the dice if we can't get others to come.
You may be fine with Dez- but apparently 32 NFL teams don't share your opinion....

I swear I've read this before Mr. Oven.

Wrong. Multiple teams offered him contracts. Including us.
AND he's still waiting by the phone- apparently willing to sit on his azz instead of take what teams are offering him. Sorry Dez, better announce your retirement.
Jiggins- it's too freaking late to bring this guy in. Best to drop the bring in a warm body syndrome. Shades of Kenny Britt wanting to cash in on one last payday. He obviously doesn't need the money- so why bring a guy in who might not be interested in putting in any effort. (And will claim a tweaked hammie so he doesn't even have to play).

I know, that's why I said I'd take him if nobody ELSE was available. I can name several others I'd rather have, and I think Demetrius Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders have a legit chance of coming here. I don't believe Devante Parker will be a legit contender. He never wanted to come here anyway.

.... can't fix 1-31 / 0-16 in one year, and all things considered, this year has been a big improvement on the watchability scale.

Its not even close.
I have not fallen asleep yet during any Browns games this season. I'm not even trying to be funny, in the last few years I would doze off occasionally.

I did too at times...

Yeah, boring.

Why are we still talking about this guy

Gordon would be the best WR on this team but hey we got a 5th rounded. Dorsey sucks

Gordon didn't want to play here. So it's irrelevent.

If he is only 5th best then getting a 5th round pick was a good deal

Says who? You mean Dorsey didn't want him here and put him on a very short lease. If you watched "Hard Knocks" you could see Haley and Dorsey didn't want anything to do with him, while Hue was excited about his return. I wrote on this message board that he'd become a liability but to trade him in the offseason if he didn't pan out. Dorsey
cuttraded him for peanuts and harmed the team (his pick Callaway was nowhere ready to replace him), even Sashi didn't do that.
