I was watching election results on Fox and I thought it was funny that they never called the race for DeSantis until they saw Gillum giving his concession speech. What kind of forecasting is that? I think anyone could call a race then.

Yep, quite the shocker, not what I expected or was seeing in the trends.
I admit, I was wrong on this (will have other comments elsewhere that most folk won't care about).
Picked up Senate seats, but lost the House.
The Senate controls Presidential appointments (Cabinet etc.) and approval of Supreme Court Justices and other Judicial appointments.
Nothing happened to slow down the Supreme Court replacements last night, and POTUS may finally get all the other appointments being held up approved now.
Very strange night.

Lest we forget - the house can throw a nasty budget at Trump that kills our military, funds illegals, etc etc...
but Pres Trump can veto it, and it would take 2/3rds of the House to override his veto.
That is about 289? votes to override, with only 223 dirty marxist scumbuckets whining.

Smarter democrats are saying the dems in the House should legislate instead of investigate but I doubt if they listen and that will play into Trump's hands in 2020.
Little disappointed in the results yesterday but looking at a glass half full historically speaking. In 1994 under Bill Clinton the dems lost 54 House seats and 8 Senate seats. In 2010 under Obama the dems lost 63 House seats and 6 Senate seats. Looks like the republicans are going to lose about 34 House seats and gain 3-5 Senate seats. Thanks to Harry Reid changing the Senate rules on judges confirmation to a simple majority the republicans should get many more conservative judges on the federal court and IF someone like Ginsburg would retire another Supreme Court justice.

Oh I don't think he really even believes that. He probably does believe, and rightfully so, that if you go through any huge corporation with a fine-tooth comb you will find some nickel-and-dime malfeasance. And he doesn't really care about any of that either. It's just his neurotic hatred of trump. A lot like people rooting for the Cleveland Browns to lose because they hated Belichick.

Did Bill Clinton have a Democrat house and Senate? Remember Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and George W bush suffered a reversal in the houses. Trumps was less than any of them. The first three were reelected and under George W bush the recession didn't begin until the Democrats took over the House and Senate.
