Hoorta may have been correct on Hue/Haley . This is Weird.

Well two things that have come out that reflect on Hue are the lack of discipline and apparently he couldn't tell Haley to do things that Baker does well from OU. Both of those reflect on the head coach, if the OC isn't doing what he should then the HC needs to take control of that situation. Anyways Kitchen seems to understand you play to your player strengths and its working, this Sunday will be a huge test for this team.

Regarding Hue- the telling thing to my mind was when Dorsey shipped Carlos Hyde out of town- because it was his opinion Hue was holding Chubb back. Probably overruled him on Gordon too. Speaking of Josh, he's currently got 32 receptions for 564 yards, and three touchdowns. (if you want a comparison, Callaway has 30 receptions for 388 yards, and three touchdowns) Huebatross might not have been calling all the plays- but it's obvious he was telling Haley who he could play.
And this is where me and Ghoolie disagree- the very top defensive (LeBeau et al) and offensive coordinators don't answer to the HC. They're pretty much free to run their own systems. And if the HC is smart- he just gets out of the way.

This article paints a really weird picture of Hue and the Browns? Who do you think is the culprit? Hoorta maintained that Haley was brought in to oversee the offense, to take it out of Hue's hands. Hoorta felt Hue was incompetent, which I did too. However, I maintained both that Haley sucked, and also the HC is the CEO and there was no way that Haley was overseeing Hue on the O.
Now comes this goofy article. In it, when pressed about why the O didn't incorporate more Baker -friendly schemes, Hue said, " I agree" as if he was being overridden. This would play into Hoorta's theory of Haley being hired. However, Haley and Hue both got fired. So what is the deal here? Perhaps Hoorta was right, AND Ghoolie was also right. Maybe Haley was hired to override the O, and ALSO, Haley sucked as bad as Hue?
What I do know is that the O is bad azz healthy now, and if we win Sunday, the playoff talk is no longer silly.
Go Browns.

Hue wanted things "his way or the highway". He said he was the CEO on first take and had full control. He said on hard knocks he was the captain of the ship. Problem is, his ego got in the way. He wanted too much control over the offense. You know, the offense that he ran that couldn't win any games. I believe he HAD to hire an OC to stay the coach, so he did.
I believe Haley wanted to run more of his Steelers system like he did with bell and brown, and Hue wanted to run more of his old bengals system with AJ green. Problem is, those systems specifically don't play out to our strengths. It's confirmed Haley went over Hue to call plays he thought were better. Also Gregg and Haley didn't like the light practices, soft attitude, and letting players randomly take days off. If you remember Jarvis' speech in hard knocks and Corey Coleman's attitude, it makes sense that certain people were taking off and not really trying in practice.
Dorsey I believe went above Hue Jackson on numerous occasions. (like trading hyde to give chubb playing time). NO ONE had respect for hue, especially gregg and haley, and even Dorsey. I think Dorsey liked Baker, and Hue liked someone else. Ultimately, Dorsey won and we took Baker and Denzel. Hue liked veterans like Tyrod and Hyde. He wouldn't of played Baker all year if Tyrod was healthy. Not letting Baker compete for the starting job and just giving it to Tyrod, and then calling him into the room to tell him he made second string was pathetic and humiliating.
Haley grew resentful of Hue.... You can see it in hard knocks when Hue mentions its his team and he makes the decisions. Hue making Haley approve plays and forcing his scheme on Haley is what I believe created conflict. Haley having to get Hue to approve his gameday calls is humiliating, especially when he has no respect for hue. We punted it so much on 4th and short and acted like too soft under Hue's tenor. I don't blame Haley for going above him. But how can we blast Haley more than Hue when we don't know the context of this "discord" and it was such a small sample size of him being with us.
Lastly Stephen A keeps saying why didn't baker blast Haley. Well baker said he believed in when Haley was calling plays. Haley clearly wasn't the issue, but him and Hue's conflict was. Who knows what happened with Todd and Hue, all I know was that it was a chaotic work environment with both of them. Props to kichens for giving Baker and our guys more control and tailoring it to them. It was an Action and then reaction with Baker and Hue.
Hue's tour, slamming his players talent, slamming Baker and others didn't sit well with him. Everyone sees him as a fake snake who just went running to the Bengals to work for nearly free the first chance he had, except for us Browns fans, Skip Bayless, Will Cain, and Rich Eisen who point out the truth.
The narrative of Hue being a victim who can't feed his children is ridiculous. The narrative of Baker being racist for mentioning Hue and not Haley is ridiculous. The media just love to hate Baker, and ESPN loves the whole lolbrowns concept so much that they can't fathom us being good and winning. Little do they know this is all fuel for Baker, and we'll have the last laugh.

Hue was for sure trying to tell Haley what to do. We don't know the extent of how much, but would you go above your boss if you gave you horrible directions you knew were wrong?
I once had a contract job I took and did. I never had anyone ask for me for revisions on a project in 9 years since i've been working in this field. The boss of the job wrote me back asking me to make 32 revisions in capital letters in an email with them numbered which I knew would all make his project worse, mind you, all for free. He said he hired me for my unique style and the way I did things, but wanted me to redo everything "his style". I told him my time is worth more than nothing and that I'd let him make all of the revisions himself. He refused to pay me unless his revisions were met, so I cut it off as a loss. The point i'm making is I believe Haley tried to do what he did for the better of the Browns. Sure, he failed, but working under a clueless incompetent boss is the worst, and "Todd's way" might've been better than "Hue's way". I think we saw a mixture of both of them struggling for "their way", which resulted in the failure of the offense.
And Let's not forget Todd's look at Hue when he said he was the captain of the ship. It was priceless disgust.

You always said that everyone was coffee fetchers for Hue. Many of us tried to tell you otherwise. Hue had a voice when under Shashi's klan....but we tried to tell you it was a voice in the wilderness. Haley was brought in to get the offense and the play calling out of Hue's hands. Turned out the two couldn't play nice. Which is a break for us since Kitchens seems to be handling the O quite nicely.....although that's because we've won a couple games. The shine will quickly come off his star if we lose a couple. Which we might.
- I listened to some of Kitchens' press conference today. I think I kinda' like him.

I admit, I read the Hue thing wrong. HOWEVER............I wasn't wrong about Haley also being a dud. This Kitchens guy has one thing that concerns me...he let his foot up on the gas 3 -4 touchdowns too early. He put our defense back on the field, he killed our momentum, and he can't do that schidt any more. If we have teams fahked up, we need to beat them into humiliation. BUt, Haslam is nuts if he disrupts Williams and Kitchen.

Larry, I don't agree, but will yield that in some places that may be the case. All I care about now is that the Browns are healthy. For the fist time since we had to swallow Kordell the peter puffy destroying us at the 1999 opener, this team IS a team.
Go Browns.

And some fags here mocked me for having the audacity to.suggest browns fans are owed a fukking explanation for just what the fuk was going on behind the scenes that quite clearly now buttfukked this team out of a serious season. The success of the last couple weeks is eye opening. We might be in serious playoff contention if at least a semblance of this team had been on the field from the beginning. To hear baker talk about how the team is closer knit now, is infuriating. We had hard knocks ffs, this could have been a breakout year for this franchise.

I dont want hue and haley just throqn under the bus, i deeply suspect theres more blame to.go around.

They got fired and the team won. And won again. Double H stink, stank stunk period.

Hue was one of the worst gameday coaches I have ever witnessed on any level which is what led Haley to the Browns. The fact that Hue continued to be "the guy in this chair" showed me he would not let go. Now I also think Haley was not exactly a barnburner, but Hue just stunk up the place his entire tenure and should have been fired instead of just gone swimming in the lake.

Haley was soundly despised in peetown too. I didn’t like bringing him in here at all. They need to be set adrift on a ice floe

Here's how I see it: Dorsey told Hue he had to hire an OC, and STRONGLY recommended Haley, for whatever reason. Haley came in thinking when Hue failed ( which Haley was probably contributing to, knowingly ), he would step in as interim HC. I would have loved to see his face, when he was going to see Dorsey and Haslam after the Hue firing,,,,thinking he was going to be asked to step in as HC, but was fired. That's why we haven't heard a word from him. He deserved it and knew it. Dorsey is not stupid. Now Haslam...that might be arguable.

Whoever was calling the reverses and double screens and runs in passing situations was the reason for all of this.
Whether it be Haley, or Hue, it costed us..
and now we are reaping the benefits.
