Gips, my old pal, as you and I head into a New Year, I am nudging you to get a little better grip on my tongue-in-cheek humor. Calling Sam D'Arnold black was a joke about color not meaning crap as far as a man's value. black, white, we are all loved equally by the one who counts.
So, my phrase, "Black Tarkenton" strike some as being racist, it is not, and I am not. I do however think that run-first QBs are ALL shit QBs. Not one of them has ever held up through the playoffs and won a SB. Nor do I believe will one ever. The fact that run-first QBs seem to all be black doesn't make me racist. I hate the run-first QB because of the implications and shortcomings. It isn't my fault that these primarily tend to be blacks. Also FWIW, I despised Tarkenton and think he is the model of what a QB should NOT be. The fucking guy was in 4 Superbowls, and he got his ass kicked in all 4. Just like the Black Tarkentons, he put up all kinds of numbers, and created excitement. But, when it counted, like all run-first QBs, he turned to shit.
It's just the way it is. The black guys in general are faster. I don't remember a white guy ever running in the 100 in the Olympics. If one has, it's mighty rare.

Man, I hope both of you guys are right. We're going to need turnovers to win IMO, and we've had CHANCES lately, but we're not finishing the darn plays. We dropped the easiest INT ever when two players kind of fought over it, we forced a fumble but didn't have anyone around to jump on it, and Myles Garrett continues to get the award for "almost had a sack". Again, I'm not hating on Myles, but if the goal of the game was to get as CLOSE to the QB without actually bringing him down, he'd be the best of all time. I've never in my life seen a guy "almost get a sack" so many times in one season, and if Myles thought that DRISKELL was hard to bring down, then he's in for a treat this Sunday. Here's something else, and I could be wrong, so don't bite my head off, but going back to Texans game, I don't think we've recovered a single fumble that we've forced, and I can think of at least 5-6. When you play a running QB, the chance of fumbles goes up exponentially, especially if they run pitch or option plays. Additionally, Lamar is going to under-throw several passes, or over-throw a few, and we HAVE to snatch those. No more dropped INT's! (I'm talking to YOU Collins)
And you know what we REALLY NEED? How about a freaking defensive or special teams touchdown? How many teams in the league don't have one of those? I know WE don't, but I wonder how many others don't either. You would think that a team that did so well with turnovers would take at least ONE of them home, but you'd be wrong. Myles is very fast and very athletic. However, he is an annoyance, not a disrupter. He will get his share of athletic sacks, but he is not a monster of the midway. Offensive Line schemes have effectively minimized Garrett's impact. Surely, you cannot say that in any one game he was a major factor in destroying a defense. Peppers and Ogbah have far more overall impact on the opposition than Garrett.
For Garrett to be effective the Browns must add a Brenston Buckner type bull.

With listening to BK discuss current NFL defensive strategyy I wonder if almost is about as good as it’ll get. You’re not going to stop the other team from scoring. You need to run a ball hawking turnover oriented defense now. In the playoffs now, we got some high scoring Os facing other high powered offenses. Getting the ball a time or two more than the opponent is often the difference. And as it’s always been, turnovers are the biggest stat when it comes to wins and losses. Your D steals the ball more often than them, you win. Myles is quick off the line and a few of those almosts did result in a turnover

It's a game in the end and the players couldnt give a ratbirds ass about any of us. I have done this a few times ( going in to the hornets nest ). I love it. I like chatting with the other teams fans. I want to know what they think.....how they feel. With the history of these two teams I am extremely interested. I was in Cleveland this past August and thought it actually was a really nice city.

I have taken a lot of heat for saying the Ravens are the real Browns. In reality, I just feel that there is indeed a historical connection. I am the same way with the Bengals being Paul Browns team. I also don't hate the Steelers but 2x per year, as I have a lot of friends, family and my career connected to the area.
Football day I get nasty....in words, not deeds.

There is only one #1.......Steelers and Texans are in the top ten I will give you that. I am telling you this defense is playing their best football right now. The steelers? Have you seen them lately? They have suffered a late season crash. They are hanging on life support. They lost to Oakland for goodness sake.
