    No, actually, I have never seen anything like that.  And trust me, I am the one with the experience in this area.   Lawyers are obligated to zealously represent their clients, and they generally do that very well.   Lawyers get bad names primarily because they  go after people....and people don't like to be "gone after"....even if it is eminently justified.

    But I will tell you that I have never been sued. I have been in court once, for running a stop sign, when i was 17. Yes, it was a low point in my life.

    So? Then your lawyer hate is just something nefarious, spurious, wholly unjustified by any particular experience?  And given that I assume then that if at some point in fact you were to be sued, that you would undertake your own pro se defense rather than stooping to hiring an actual lawyer to defend you? Because, after all, why would you want to turn for help from a profession you disdain. Right?  (No, I didn't think so)

    Well I have issues with Ambulance Chasers Gip. I admit sometimes it's legit, but all too often I'm hurt, somebody owes me a ton of money. We have an ongoing case in Dayton where the police shot and killed a guy in a Wal-Mart, brandishing an air rifle- the police told him to drop it- nope? Sorry you're dead. The family is suing everyone and everything for wrongful death. When I was up in Cleveland for the Redskins preseason game this guy Tim Misny had billboards all over the city. "I'll make them pay". We have a legal group in Dayton about the same. Elk & Elk are statewide, and they're primarily in the same racket. Only time I've ever though about suing anyone was when I bought my house- the owner hired a fly by night unlicensed plumber who did a shoddy repair job-and I specifically put in the sales contract what needed to be done. I eventually had to correct that crap on my own- in today's dollars it was probably around $3,000 bucks worth of repairs.

  • PS if some of you haven't noticed, I deleted a bunch of the personal attacks. If you want to call someone an asshole, there's the Political Forum where it's open season on that kind of stuff. I'll tolerate some, but when it goes over the top & persists- it's gone.  Just a friendly reminder.

    AB's deposition in the furniture tossing case was today. There's now some video footage out of it. I'm sitting back and grabbing some popcorn for this.

    After the court case is finished, I could see that as a possibility. There are probably already a handful of teams with his agent on speed dial, just waiting to see what happens. But would it be worth the all of the trouble? AB wouldn't give Mayfield an ounce of respect, and I could see a locker room division starting.

    I think you're out of your mind. The guy is unstable at best, and batshit crazy at worst. Rape allegations, threatening texts, tossing stuff out condo windows and trashing the condo to the tune of $80,000. NO THANKS. Let some other team deal with this head case- we don't need the aggravation.

    I am giving up my duties as the Hammer of the Spermsucker fans.   I am allowing Tour to take over those duties.  Let's see how he does. 

    Also, Gunz is to take over the Trivia Duties  since my work on that does not suit him.  (though I did give a half effort here a bit ago).

    I will still do the Surveys.

    My church's motto is "We try to be a welcoming community".  No reason to attack a new member just because he's an X fan. Now if a noob comes in here with the typical "we're great, you suck". OK fire away. Those types rapidly get a permanent ban anyway. That certainly wasn't he case here. 

    I don't get paid for keeping the inmates in line, and there was a lot of stuff in this thread that went over the line. Sure long time members (Gipper) get more slack- but I'm not about to give them unlimited slack when I feel:

    1) They're being abusive

    2) Just arguing for the sake of arguing- and they think (like Ghoolie) they're right 99%+ of the time.

    IIRC I've shut down 3 threads in recent history- and two of them involved our resident barrister (to my mind) being out of control. 

    As you know Ag, if you want personal attacks and porn- head over to the Political Discussion Forum. Even that's been over run by guys who think the Right is always right.  😁
