After the court case is finished, I could see that as a possibility. There are probably already a handful of teams with his agent on speed dial, just waiting to see what happens. But would it be worth the all of the trouble? AB wouldn't give Mayfield an ounce of respect, and I could see a locker room division starting.

OBJ has settled in. We're under enough stress at 1-2... and it'll get worse before it gets better. We don't need another potential flashpoint in the locker room.

I am giving up my duties as the Hammer of the Spermsucker fans. I am allowing Tour to take over those duties. Let's see how he does.

Also, Gunz is to take over the Trivia Duties since my work on that does not suit him. (though I did give a half effort here a bit ago).

My church's motto is "We try to be a welcoming community". No reason to attack a new member just because he's an X fan. Now if a noob comes in here with the typical "we're great, you suck". OK fire away. Those types rapidly get a permanent ban anyway. That certainly wasn't he case here.

I don't get paid for keeping the inmates in line, and there was a lot of stuff in this thread that went over the line. Sure long time members (Gipper) get more slack- but I'm not about to give them unlimited slack when I feel:

1) They're being abusive

2) Just arguing for the sake of arguing- and they think (like Ghoolie) they're right 99%+ of the time.

IIRC I've shut down 3 threads in recent history- and two of them involved our resident barrister (to my mind) being out of control.

As you know Ag, if you want personal attacks and porn- head over to the Political Discussion Forum. Even that's been over run by guys who think the Right is always right.

And I rest mine. So, bottom line..we are both right......I have never usually in the past backed off from a good argument....and tour usually does the opposite.

But, like I said....I am retiring as a legend. I have no room for more notches on my holster. Someone else has to take over the mantle of being the designated bitch slapper of Steeler/Raven trolls. It is clear that there are those out there that deserve it. Can anyone here cut the mustard.

My point was that I think he ducks and runs. OK, maybe you consider that reasonable. Fair enough...I guess. I have never put anyone on ignore...even Ghoolie!! I personally think that is a bit recreant. But, I will be honest with you...the biggest reason that I called him that is because he apparently refused to come over and say hello to us at the tailgate in Houston last year. I know you were looking forward to seeing him, but he never showed up. I was a bit disappointed for you. Maybe you guys have talked and gotten straight the reason for that.

Like I have always said....I have nothing against anyone on here. This is all just entertainment to me....including whatever banter that may go on between me and anyone else. I have nothing personal against anyone. How many tailgates have we gone to and everyone gets along, even if we have board disagreements. Hell....even Cal Fox!!. Even though we are probably on basically opposite ends politically, we have talked about trying to get together somewhere down around Canton. I tried to help him out on his attempt to take a trip to Yellowstone.

By the way....I just listened to Bruce Springsteen's Blinded by the Light yesterday.....much better than the Manfred Mann version.
