Call me homer but i think this is actually a good matchup for the Browns.

SF has played the Bengals, the Steelers and the Bucs.... After watching that MNF game last night I can’t take any of there numbers seriously...(just like the Ravens numbers...)

if the Browns play like they did against the Ravens, get all their players back from last week and pick up a defender or two off the injury list...

I’m feeling good about this one too.

    Ward, Landry, Higgins, Greedy, Richardson

    These are 5 huge injuries.

if you put a gun to my head losing Landry probably worst player to lose out of the group.

Richardson is important we need him against the zone scheme this an ideal scheme for his talents.

Ward or Greedy are huge in this game although.  The Niners are a controlled passing team we absolutely need to challenge the underneath stuff and we haven’t the last two weeks.

    higgins is Mayfields security blanket.

im honestly torn but I’ll still with Landry. And I settle with 2 of the 5 hopefully.

I'm not so sure on running the ball, but I will say this...and this is what makes me nervous about the matchups.

Where the 49ers have a weakness (replacement LT and replacement CB) is where the Browns have significant strength. You've said pretty much the same thing.

Monday will be a test of those young players and the schemes of Shanahan and Saleh to protect those guys.

This is gonna be a fun game....as long as Skule doesn't get Garoppolo killed. LOL.

I think the Browns will go big at times and run right at Dee Ford and I expect the Browns to get the young pup Bosa thinking early use his first step against him and drop screens over him.  That’s what I expect.  He had tremendous ability but he’s played 4 games in 2 years and he’s still learning but you guys have a cornerstone for years.

On the other side the Browns will need to stop the run.  It’s the same approach they needed to take against the Rams and Ravens.  The zone blocking scheme is different.  On a positive note we arent trying to swat a fly this week and trying to corral a guy like Jackson on the downside it takes just as much discipline stringing the run out and it really takes the DTs slamming in and getting penetration on the snap- we have three guys that have shown the ability to the that. On a side note Our D coordinator saw you guys twice last year when he was with the Cards I trust he knows what it takes.

Well, embarrassingly, the Cards won BOTH games against SF last year. Matt Breida was hurt during the game so only got 8 carries (Alfred Morris carried 18 times), but Breida averaged 7 yards per carry in that game. In the second meeting Breida was PLAYING hurt and averaged 2.6 yards per carry.

You can really look at those two numbers and essentially make anything you want out of them. LOL.

Those were both CJ Beathard games (third QB, not by a small margin) and the Cards never faced Garoppolo in SF (they faced him once with the Pats).

Naw...its not homer of you. I can see what you see. I see if differently of course and that can just as easily be called homeristic.  😁

For me, its about one stat. Its a team stat which is difficult but there really isn't any getting around it because its so glaring.

49ers Record with Beathard at QB: 1-9

49ers Record with Mullins at QB: 3-5

49ers record with Garoppolo at QB: 9-2. (Only losses to Minn at Minn and KC at KC...and that's the game where he tore the ACL. He's never lost at Levi's)

This is a different team with Jimmy behind center and they win games I don't think they have any business winning.

Can only play the games on the schedule.

You should... you've been collecting 1st-round DLs for years now... 4 of the last 5 IIRC...

Damn near approached Matt Millan's fetish for WRs...

You're going to see a lot of 2 TE sets from us... no way we are letting our OTs face Bosa and Ford without a heavy dose of chipping

If that's the case, you'll likely see a lot of Dre Greenlaw, LB #57. Rookie Backer, has played well, but has been susceptible to play action.

    LOL RE Millen.

Yeah...difference is all but one of them is playing really well (Solomon Thomas being the exception).

Millen does get grief for that....but he did draft Megatron.

And Lamar had how many of those?  He’s a bottom 5 “thrower” probably a Top 5 running back yes running back in the league

The Niners attack and style more in tact with what the Rams do.

Yes, tho the Niners rank 2nd in rushing and the Rams rank 22nd.

Certainly, a lot of that is situational, but Niner run game has been far more effective this year than LAs. I like McVay and I can't pretend I'm not biased, but I think Shanahan is BY FAR the better playcaller of the two.

Shanahan is an excellent playcaller, a very good OCoordinator. He's one of those coaches that schemes for his talent AND the opposing defenses very well.

Shanny was one of my favorite Browns coaches.  He had 13-14 games a year where he put the team in much better place to win.  What I can remember He was good for two or three head scratchers (did his neighbor scout for him that week?) - hopefully we see one of those games

Sometimes even the best get "outschemed"... so you just tip your hat and move on.

I think you'll agree that we have a DC that can do that.

  • No real change in this game.

But next week the BROWNS are already a 2.5 favorite vs Seattle in Cleveland a 1 pm game.......what no primetime? I was just getting used to it.  😆

  • FRIDAY AFTERNOON - Cleveland had slightly moved up to a +4 underdog on MNF and is still a -2.5 favorite next week at home vs Seattle.  http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/?s=1442

Here's a peek at some additional games next week including Cincinnati +9 at Baltimore and Pittsburgh +5.5 at the LAC......... just FYI.

  • Saturday AM -. The BROWNS were at +3.5 then +4 and a few places now CLE +5, a lot of people think either SF is a good bet -or- that CLE is not take your pick.  More in link........  http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/story.cfm/story/1984334

“We had a guy come in last night (Thursday) taking the Falcons +5 that pushed us down to Texans -4 now and he also took the 49ers -3.5 (vs. Browns Monday night) and we’re at -4 now,” said DiTomasso, who also mentioned this particular bettor has respected money, which means he usually moves a number his way regardless of risk on the game..

The 49ers are the third undefeated team (3-0) they and come off a bye while the Browns only two wins and covers have come on the road. The only Las Vegas book not at -4 on Friday afternoon was the Mirage at -3.5 -120.

I think all of this tells us what we already know...we're in for a war, and if I was a betting man, I'd probably take the 49's. Off a bye, rested, and with our injuries? Add in that while we played better, we're still not quite the machine we hoped for just yet. Does that mean we can't win? Of course not, but we have to play REALLY well, and I hope we're up for it.

For the life of me, I can't see how the Browns are being favored against the Seahawks. Seattle getting 12 days rest after their Thursday night game, and the Browns on a short week playing the 49ers. Hell's bells, the Browns won't even get back to Cleveland until early Tuesday morning.

I don't see how in the world the guys making up the schedule thought that was in any way fair....

And Russell Wilson has been playing out of his mind this season, too.

This is going to be a tough one.

  • While I know I've been shown data that it's not a factor, I still "fear" traveling to the PT zone from the ET zone...

    Anyone know our departure date?

I don't know.  If I was in charge we would have left on Friday after practice.  That said, it is harder to adjust going east.

Let's hope that turns out to be true for Seattle.
