I don't know if I'd go that far, but cracks are showing in Freddie. When he came on the scene, it felt like he was giddy with his celebrity status and thought he had the world by the short curlies. If you noticed, he dropped his whole "good ole southern boy" schtick. It's no longer cute or funny. And Baker should think twice about attacking local media, they are the closest thing to his only friends left.

Yes...it IS just your opinion and you certainly COULD be misreading the situation. Could Baker act more mature? Sure....he could just ignore the stupid questions. Will he do that someday? Probably, when he has been playing for longer than just a bit over a year. Would NO ONE care about any of this if they were winning? Damn straight. But, again, it is an ASSholeumption to think that because of this little tiff with a reporter that the team will lose confidence in him. He is in there battling with them practically 24/7. Will a big overreaction by media change their view of him? I believe not one whit.

Baker does have issues.....which we could dissect, but basically, making mistakes, not seeing the field properly...and etc. I certainly am not saying he doesn't have problems that need to be corrected.

Sorry but I can relate to Baker's attitude. I was the same way when I played tennis on on the collegiate level. To my knowledge I still hold the unofficial University of Dayton record racket toss I was so pissed off. Over two courts and a 15' high tree.

I'll have to give Baker a little bit of a pass this time. Since High School he's done nothing but win. First time he's facing extended adversity, and not dealing with it at all well. Actually, Melody didn't leave sports....he became the outdoors reporter for the BJ....fishing/hunting etc. The thing is, covering that was tantamount to leaving sports....but it was actually something that he much preferred to do. I know because he lived in Norton and was a good friend of my legal associate and mentor.
He just died here in March.
