  • Looks like he only tore his MCL so could conceivably be back for week one.

This should CHEER UP "RestInPeace"...he seemed so bummed about it. 😁

  • Yeah, Hadnot was playing left guard with the second team. Today's starting right side consisted of Womack at RG and Tucker at RT.

After Hadnot got hurt, Isaac Sowells replaced him at LG. He was promptly beaten for a would-be-sack by Louis Leonard.

    Thanks for the update Alo!

Gee, there's a surprise - Sowells got beat. It's amazing how long we've held a roster spot for such a candyass like Isuuc. I don't even think this kid would have been drafted if Savage's speed reading skills noticed the word "soft" in some scouting reports.

  • um... I beat ya to it Shep

  • This is AWESOME news. Hadnot has to be so so relieved. I'm relieved as well. Let's pray for a fast and full recovery.

  • This could be very very good news

  • Shit bed, I had written him off.

At first, I was thinking it could maybe just be an MCL, then the supposed diagnosis came out and I gave up hope. This is huge news.

  • A stout O line is essential in the AFC North...again very very good news

  • So an MCL tear is something that can be rehabbed and it heals without surgery?

Yes the Medial Collateral generally doesn't require surgery. It's generally a let the injury heal and then rehab it.

IMO, it generally leads to more knee problems but it is definitely not as severe as an ACL.

I'm guessing week 4 for Hadnot to return.

  • Right, MCL's heal on their own. It's more akin to an ankle sprain. The ligaments are stretched and partially torn, but heal up fine. MCL's tend to take longer than ankle sprains however.

With the use of MRI's, we've also learned severe ligament sprains of the knee also involve a bone bruise. Again, this heals up on it's own, but cements the healing in the 4-6 week range.

This is great news. 4 weeks at the soonest. 8 weeks max.

Thanks Ocon for the doctor's perspective. I think realistically it will be week 4 since I believe he would have to wait until then to play unless he can go week one.

It's best to give him plenty of time since we should have plenty of depth early on.

Does this bode well fro Fraley?

  • i got a feeling we are keeping fraley anyways, mack is a rook and needs a good backup. This is excellent news on hadnot. He probably wont start but at least he will be a strong backup and might even start later in the season.

  • Either way hadnot hasnot and will most likely be on the pine wasting a spot within a few regular games right along with tucker and womack..😉

I agree. Fraley's a decent backup & a great sounding board for Mack.

Also, it seems like George Foster hasn't done anything to earn a roster spot. If Tucker serves as a the backup for both spots on the right side, the need for another backup tackle is a little less serious. So we could afford to keep Fraley over Foster as our eighth o-lineman.
