Been favoring Wills over Thomas, but I like OTs whose wingspan comes disproportionately from arm length vs. chest width... and that says Thomas is the guy. I can't wait to see them move.

Jones' measurements are a bit of a concern as well.

On the plus side there's UConn's Matt Peart. I've been looking at him as a prospective, developmental, Day-3 OT... think I'll look a little harder.

Thanks for sharing this!   The last time we picked a LT named Thomas he went to 10 consecutive Pro Bowls for us.  During his rookie year (2007), he played next to a very productive veteran LG Eric Steinbach and we went 10-6.

I'm not huge on the bench meaning much in the way of translating to on field performance.   But good Christ, that's some strength and stamina.

edit:  kid's highlights look like Marshall Yanda.

But Yanda only did 23 reps at his Pro Day... 🙂

Netane is a beast... and brings C/OG versatility to the party.... on top of his great name: Netane Muti.

    If he can stay healthy...

Super Bowl 2020: NFL Draft prospects who resemble star players that helped Chiefs and 49ers reach Super Bowl

by Chris Trapasso @ChrisTrapasso Jan 30, 2020 at 10:03 am ET • 11 min read

Eric Fisher - Comparison: Matt Peart, UConn

Get to know this name. And no, Peart won't go in the first round like former No. 1 overall pick Fisher did. Heck, it would actually be a surprise if he made his way to the second day of the draft.

But at nearly 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds with vines for arms and borderline elite athleticism for the tackle position that allows him to mirror like a veteran, Peart has the on-field ingredients to become Fisher 2.0 at the next level. When Fisher entered the league out of Central Michigan in 2013 and rocketed up boards all the way to the top of the draft, everyone agreed he had franchise tackle athletic traits but needed to beef up and get stronger. That's precisely how I view Peart right now.

Jimmy Garoppolo - Comparison: Anthony Gordon, Washington State

As a Washington State quarterback, you probably know what type Gordon is. He's a passer who gets it out quickly, mostly on underneath throws, and thanks to the variety of options at his disposal on every play, is pretty deft getting through his reads. But he doesn't have a huge arm and, from time to time (see: too often) writes checks with his brain that his arm can't cash. He's a quick-decision based quarterback. And does every quick decision you make in life turn out to be a good one? Exactly. The same goes for Gordon.

Garoppolo has become a better processor during his NFL career, but, he too hailed from a spread offense in college -- Eastern Illinois -- and was a quick-passing point guard before going to the New England Patriots. Don't be offended by this comparison, Jimmy G fans, but Gordon most resembles your guy in this draft class.

Bigger question is how his 10-yd split, his vert and his standing broad will stack up?

    Big Hoss wants 5.2 ?

if your not familiar with Becton in front of a mic? he's a fun kid

Wirfs led the way with a 4.85. Wills 5.05.

    Thomas posted a 7.58 3-cone. Wirfs 7.65.

Wirfs name pops up among the leaders for a lot of the drills.

He followed that up with an unofficial time of 4.86 seconds in the 40, including a 1.69-second 10-yard split. There were already high expectations for Wirfs heading into the 2020 NFL draft. Now that is an eye opener especially for a ZBS/RPO type O-line. Do some more research on this guy Tour.

Our former OL Coach (Kirk Ferentz) did some research on him and Wirfs started all 4 years for him at Iowa.  One scout wrote he's the only OL/LT to accomplish that honor under Ferentz.   Another said he saw him as an OG (like Eric Steinbach and Robert Gallery transitioned into).  Those Underwear Olympic metrics might have that scout rethinking it while he's glad nobody attached his name to it.

1 former board member would have told us he did that in 6th grade with 1 hand while the other hand was taking inventory of Miss Ohio's groin.

Then he would have forgotten how many times he already told us offensive linemen are a dime a dozen while Joe Thomas was making 10 consecutive Pro Bowls.

Mt. Becton put a huge 🙂 on my face the rest of the night.. I wanted to post, but I fell so far behind re-running for split times..I didn't finish 1st viewing till after midnight..

They said, Big Hoss dropped some of his water weight, running the 40 at 357 lbs. He still finished 10th of all linemen with a 1.77 10 split on 2nd 40.. That's damn football scary? folks.. And most have not mentioned it on the networks..But i'd bet money that is what Mayock got a chuckle out of..

Anywho? I got even further behind while listening to JT#73 take the mic from the other hack to break down drills with actual* tech talk..Joe's so damn solid talking the tech's of the game.(period!) btw, i thought some* of the new OL drills went soft/gay...#fredthesledwasdead, so let them play for christ cakes!!

Wills & Wirfs did what we thought they would do... they killed it.....but, I have a harder time matching Wirfs numbers, than to Wills on tape..

i know some don't like early player comparisons..but

Imho--Technique-wise a+)Wills is every bit the Jonah Williams of this Draft..he can LT/#73.. b.) T. Wirfs is the Andre Dillard....honestly, i think c.) Andrew Thomas took a small slide, putting Wills slightly ahead in scouts minds..AT's drills just lacked something that i can't pinpoint yet?... Leaving d.) Becton, that can only be compared to Orlando 'Zeus' Brown, but far behind Zeus in position tech but of fighting a Bear ?... but it was OB that played the starter snaps of all mentioned above.

In closing, We respect your OL views so, the floor is yours & I'll get off my TE soapbox...but i need your opinion on Temple-Matt Hennessy at RG...he also blew me away in drills? thanks!

EDIT-- in my trying 230 lbs'ish playing TE day's.. i was ok with my Gun'z & Glute'z.....butt, not after seeing some of these sequoia trees push'em up & down....G00d God is !!
