Which Are You?

I'll ask the entire board again..
1) which are you?
2) Life is a fight, how hard have you been hit?
Two pretty simple questions..

Great- Live free and die. Sorry you have only one life to lose for the pandemic. One thing he's factually wrong on in that article- comparing covid mortality to flu. There's a difference to saying I know the risks, and I'm going to ignore them (or at least take them into account)- or I know the risks and I'm scared shitless of them.... Us mountaineers do that on a regular basis- at least when it's serious, not a casual stroll up a trail to the top. If I fuck up this move, belay- or trust that rock when it's iffy- I could get killed.
If you lost a relative to covid- I'd say you've been hit pretty hard. If your job is permanently gone, ditto.
Go ahead- said it before. Get- your your assault weapons out tough guys and protest the wussification of America. It's a free country- really. Just remember the virus doesn't care if you have a gun, or ten, or twenty.
MHO is showing off your 2nd Amendment rights isn't going to get you anywhere fast.
PS- yeah overall, this country is turning into a nation of wimps. Yes indeed Gorka, the sheep are getting more easily terrorized year by year. But is the intent of the article that the fear mongerers have cried "WOLF!!! once too often?
Comparing America of today to the America of the 1700s? Most folks have no clue. But that was then, this is now. You don't have to worry about a nightly Indian attack, or figure out how to build that cabin all by yourself. Sure, there's maybe 1\10 of 1% of people out there who could, but that's not everybody. I've often said Bin Laden had the wrong targets. Take out a couple symbolic buildings? So what? Take out America's power grid? You'd have anarchy within a week.

You can say that about dying from anything.

Now wait a second, the only guns I own are my arms. And just for the record I don't own a bible either, I like sex, Rock and Roll and am not shy about looking at porn, I love science and the arts, and have a 4 yr. college degree.. Both sides like pretty much the same things except unlike liberals we have a sense of where to draw the lines. I believe there are only two genders.

You can look at it that way too. I was refuting the idea that it was solely an attempt to politicize.

Just don't respond and let them die a natural death.

It looks like some could go over to Barbershop Talk anyway. Can you relocate them?
Oh, I could- when Ghoolie got the boot, my Moderation powers magically increased. But this is Steve's board to Moderate, I'm just a visitor here.
But in a direct reply- I'll be more than happy to do it- as long as I can move or delete Cal's or Vambo's righty nonsense conspiracy crap tit for tat.... Still interested? Didn't think so...

So guess which side the University of Kentucky is on? Haha. Naked college students? Alcohol consumption? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

The main question we should be asking ourselves is this.
Jelly or fritter? Separates the men from the boys.

Because the predictions like the models are based on bullshitt and politics.

I hope the trend continues Steve. What I found interesting is using The Weather Channel's interactive map- the big outbreak in Georgia was centered around Atlanta. Only handfuls of cases out in the boondocks.
Yeah, nationally the daily death toll has been cut in half. Now that restrictions are being eased- I'm going to hold off till the end of the month on saying there was a lot of fear mongering going on.

I saw a map of the u.s. updated today can't find it now but most of the states we're in the color that represented reopening and a handful we're possibly reopening soon. Meaning still Crackdown. Ironically the ones that were still on Crackdown are the worst places in the Union. New York Pennsylvania New Jersey California Washington Oregon New Mexico??? Somebody else...

Hey- I got a "please help" letter from my Indian School\ Mission in Thoreau NM about the situation there. According to them, it's bad. Of course some of those families on the Reservation are so isolated, their odds of contracting the virus are remote at best. Some still live in one room shacks with no running water, and depend on the Mission water truck to reload them once a week..

We completely fucked up the entire situation with the Indians. Should have just done what the Vikings did with the Irish.

Come on...
This is as dumb of a meme as the "biohazard" one the Vambo algorithm posted.
Let's think. Why might there not be a lot of cases in South Dakota when compared to California?

How about Florida and New York? How about Ohio and Michigan? How about Sweden and Denmark? The science is bulshit the models are bullshit and the politicians are bullshit.

Michigan Sweden
9.9 Million population 10.2 Million population
700K largest city 900K largest city
4800/sq. mi. pop density largest city 4800/sq. mi. pop density largest city
COVID Timeline:
Michigan Sweden
March 10 - First reported COVID death
March 16 - All schools closed
March 18 - First reported COVID death
March 23 - Stay Home & businesses closed
March 23 - 1300 cases, 15 deaths March 23 - 2000 cases, 25 deaths
April 2 - HS, colleges and big groups banned
Considered one of the strictest states Criticized for just social distancing
Restaurants/shops open, no masks
Objective: Slow spread - 14 days at home Objective: Herd immunity
Note: Michiganders are following the order and staying home extremely well
ONE MONTH LATER:
Michigan Sweden
April 24 - 36,000 cases, 3,100 deaths April 24 - 18,000, 2,200 deaths
April 24 - 310 deaths per million April 24 - 217 death per million
Average age: 75 Average age: 80 (87% deaths over age 70)
(Testing criteria has varied over time in the two places, but both places will have tested all those who passed away over the last month.)
Michigan acted quicker and harder than Sweden since March 23. That cannot be disputed. Since that time, Michigan COVID-related deaths have increased 206% and Sweden is up only 88%. Michigan appears to be doing "worse" over the last four weeks than a place trying to infect its population to some degree. That was not expected.
Not saying Michigan's stricter rules have caused more COVID problems and not saying herd immunity will prevail. (Maybe it will. Maybe it won't.)
HOWEVER, regardless of the objective, how do you argue shutting everything has been a better course of action than simple social distancing at this point? What is the argument that extending it would somehow miraculously start to help six weeks later?
The results do not appear to support it (after TWICE the quarantine time).

I regret giving that site a click
What kind of a brain dead moron would actually seek out articles like that?
