Id give a 5th for him in a heartbeat. Even if he's not that great a WR you still have to respect his deep speed which would open up the field for other WR's. Delhomme loves throwing deep so if they dont roll a S over to cover deep delhomme could hit him in stride. When Maimi was playing Pennington the defense didnt have to worry about going deep because he cant throw it that far.

  • I would give up a fifth round pick for him. Atleast with his speed he would be able to stretch the field.

  • I agree with Earl34, if Santonio Holmes can be had for a 5th rounder... I would think a 7th rounder or Joe Thomas's jock strap may get the deal done.

The dude is not that good. His hands are bad. He is a returner and we have Cribbs... We do not need a smaller less physical version of Braylon 'scissor hands'.

  • If he wasn't from OSU, there wouldn't be one single comment, let alone thread, about acquiring this guy.....................Enough of where a guy is from, or who he rooted for as a young boy already.

Exactly.... I was reading on the Plain Dealer about Jared Odrick... this moron that posts there said "he sucks, he is garbage" and compared him to Courtney Brown?

Huh? How the hell does one do that? A guy automatically sucks because he is from a certain school or another guy is amazing just because he went to another school.

    Really?

I should have asked him how Vernon Gholston is doing....

  • This is what Ted Ginn brings to your football team when you have a QB that can throw further than 40yds

He doesnt have to catch 100 balls he just has to stretch the field and make you pay when you dont respect his speed.

Even when its againt the best CB in the league

A fifth rd pick for a guy going into his 4th year. Was very raw coming out of college, Miami wouldnt be stupid enough to do that trade

  • In his 3 years, he's caught at least 34 balls each year. 2008 he caught 56. He's also caught over 400 yards each year. 2008 he caught over 700 yards. His combined average is over 13 yards per catch. He averages just under 2 TD's per year.

Put him in the slot as the #3 burner with Massaqoui and Robiskie... and I think he does great.

If we can get him for a 5, I say we do it.

  • No Thanks. We can do a lot better than Ginn. Like it was said on here before, it is more of the this guy is from ohio state so there is a trend to over value him. He has displayed really really bad hands so far in his nfl career (almost as bad as Braylon) which has led him to not see the field in the phins base set and led the phins to give up on a top 1st round pick for peanuts. I would rather try to draft a reciever in the third round with one of our picks than give up a 5th for him. Maybe a plan b option after the draft. But could care less if we got him.

  • We need a guy in the slot that has hands. Ginn has not shown that he can be that guy. I dont know that he would be much of an upgrade over furrey.

Ginn's not a slot receiver he's a guy you flank out wide and spread the defense out with

  • can't catch----end of story!

  • you have to remember though that they are still going to attempt to make cribbs a receiver even though he really can't play the position. they aren't ready to give up on him yet, especially with the contract he just got. they will be working robiskie into the slot position more this year and he will probably be a solid slot guy. i don't see him as a number 2 considering that momass really isn't really a number one. he's our number two for years to come.

  • Another ohio state reject 😆

I agree with you mills. He is not a slot reviever either. Theres not much he could do for us. I was stating that becuase other posts on this thread said to bring him in as our slot reciever and i was stating why he would not be a good slot reciever. If you use him that is exactly what you use him for is to flank him out wide and let him run down the field. We can do a lot better than ginn even as a flanker. Even with the core that we currently have he would struggle to get on the field.

  • It seem some of you don't understand why Holmes only netted a 5th...

  • I'm of the opinion you should be able to draft someone who can do what he does BETTER and perhaps have a higher ceiling. I don't think Ginn is awful and with the talent we have on our team now, he'd help out....BUT i'm unwilling to toss off a pick for him.

  • Don't need him, he's no better than Stuckey.

Exactly my feelings. i would much rather draft someone in rounds 2 - 5 then give up a pick for ginn. Preferably in rounds 3 through 5. I Think there is a much better chance and value with drafting a reciever then settling for a thus far mediocre at best teddy ginn. Though the dolphins will be looking to give him away for peanuts now that he has become their fifth best reciever.

Miami has now acquired Brandon Marshall. I actually think that it would now be foolish for the Dolphins to trade Ginn. Can you imagine what this would do to open up Ginn with Marshall on the other side? I would definitely take him on the Browns if the price were right to, as you say "stretch the defense". Who do we have to do that now? Not MoMass.

Hello, McFly, is anybody home? You ain't putting Ginn in to be your clutch third down "hands" receiver. He is in to be your home run hitter. He is your Jim Thome, not your Omar Vizquel. Yea, he needs to hit a few more homers, and strike out a few less times, but he has something you can't coach: blazing speed. Something the Browns do need.
