OK, with all the buzz going on now, it looks as though Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert will both go top 5. Marcel Dareus seems to also be a lock. thats 3 of 5 picks before us.

Now that leaves Peterson, Green and/or Miller to fall to us, Julio Jones too if we rank him highly. Either way we will get:

The Best Cornerback in the draft. Arguably the safest pick, and some say top rated player in the draft.

The Best WR in the drafted. WRs are never a safe pick, but he definitely has all the tools. Most say top 3 player in the draft

Von Miller best pass rusher in the draft. Some say he is a safe pick, but not sure how he fits into our scheme. Most say a top 5 player in the draft.

Even if only one QB goes before us. We got SanFran and Tennessee right behind us both in need of a QB and Washington at ten. We could easily trade down a few spots and still get a Julio Jones, Prince Amukamara, Cameron Jordan, JJ Watt, or maybe a surprise pick in Tyron Smith at RT.

I know most Browns fans say it every year, but this really could be a fun draft.

i think it will be an awesome draft. stay at six or trade down i think we will land someone who will payoff big. hey, last year's draft wasn't too shabby either. check out the brown's tavern (on this forum) during the draft...constant guessing rooting and crying. great stuff. (unless you're at a real tavern) 😆

Yeah im praying that both QBs go in the Top 5, it would defentily mean we would more than likely get those 3 players you mentioned...Alot of people dont see Miller as a good fit but i dont think Heckert would pass on him if he was his BPA...He could make a good OLB in a 4-3 i think, even though hes better suited to play the 3-4 OLB

It's becoming more and more of a lock with Cam Newton going to 1. Moreover, if Blaine Gabbert wasn't picked by Buffalo, he will with Cincy and Arizona in desperate need of a QB.

Yup, PP, Green or Von Miller will fall to us. Very happy.

patrick petersen............we'd be set for years in the DB. that would be a gift to see him fall to us.

I'll say this for the last time- all you guys who have the hots for Peterson better hope he can cover #1 wideouts for 10 seconds- because that's how much time opposing quarterbacks will have to throw considering the current state of suckiness of the Browns front seven on defense. Rubin and Fujita are maybe the only 2 players there who could start for the Steelers, and you guys want another cornerback? Please- give it a rest already. Get it through your thick heads an effective pass rush negates the need for elite corners- the Giants & Colts Super Bowl winning teams, not to mention the runnerup Steelers are living proof of that. Asomugha and Revis are arguably the two best corners in the NFL right now, and their teams have been to how many Super Bowls? If you say none, go to the head of the class.

It's Green if he falls to us, BPA on the front seven, or a trade down. I'd love it if one of the two qbs were still on the board, we could swap with Washington, move down to #10, pick up an extra second rounder, and probably still get Julio Jones.

You must know the draft is seven rounds long, and the first round and probably 2 or 3 rounds and we can grab DLmen in the draft later. You should go BPA. Peterson is a can't miss. Quinn is a risk, Bowers is dropping, Fairly is dropping, too soon for JJ Watt or Ryan Kerrigan.

Excatly what he said you always go BPA and if Peterson is that on your board which more than likely he is you have to take him...And the 2nd we could easily grab Stephen Paea,Marvin Austin..And theres a possibility that Cam Heyward or Adrian Clayborn could slide to us i the 2nd as well...

We have 8 picks in this draft PLUS free agency. You make it seem like the #6 pick is our only pick.

It's quite the conundrum: the DLine buys the secondary time, but you fail to mention that the secondary buys the DLine time. Our secondary, believe it or not, is quite pathetic. We need all the help we can get. There's still some serviceable-to-fairly-adequate-to-really-good DLinemen in the second round. However, there's no CB as good as Amukamara or as sure of a thing as Patrick Peterson.

And whoops, we're all thick headed because we wanted the best player available.

I guess no one but hoorta knows what they're talking about.

Here's a tidbit that points to the Browns taking a wide receiver with the sixth pick:

Adam Schefter of ESPN thinks the Browns will ultimately end up selecting a wide receiver at No. 6 even though most believe they will go with a defensive lineman.

This puts Schefter on the same page with Browns beat writer Tony Grossi, who had Cleveland selecting Georgia WR A.J. Green in his latest mock draft. In order for that to happen, Green would have to first slip past the Bengals at No. 4

Here's what I have to say:

If AJ Green is taken by Bengals, then Julio Jones get taken by the Browns

I just dont see it maybe Heckert knows something we dont but Jones should not be taken at #6, we could easily take him at say around 10...Which to me is just a reach, i really dont care what Adam Schefter says or Mel Kiper for that matter.

The only way i see it is if Green is there he is worthy of the 6 pick if not we dont take Jones just because we need a reciever they can be had in later rounds and no need to reach for Jones who isnt worth the 6 pick in the draft in my opinion, we will take Peterson if hes available and make Niners fans hate us for it..

Also Quinn over Jones, if both Peterson and Green are gone....So i dont see the Jones selection

I think the brain tumor that Quinn has is scaring the crap out of Heckert, and that's why Jones is favored over Quinn.

Maybe but i dont see Jones being the 6th BPA avaiable on there board, honestly i think theres a better chance we take Bowers over Jones and thats saying alot...

I mean people are questioning whether or not we would take Green and hes alot better than Jones so i dont see the logic in thinking if we were compteplating taking Green why would we take a WR thats not even on the same level as him, it dosent make much sense to me..

It's not about BPA available. Look at it this way, Jones is the 2nd best WR in the draft, and Quinn is the 3rd or 4th best DE in the draft. Since Jones is the second best wide receiver, you take him because he is after all, rated higher than Quinn who is 3rd or 4th best DE in draft.

Disagree with Quinn ill give you Jones is the second best WR in the draft, but Quinn is not the 3rd or 4th best DE in this draft he is considered the first one that is going to be taken...

The only other DE who was even mentioned as top 5 material was Bowers and now he may not be because of his injury uncertanity, but you name me 4 DE's that are going to go ahead of Quinn...

And Miller dosent count because he is an OLB and is projected to stay that way even in the 4-3

What you said doesn't necessarily correspond to Julio Jones being taken by the Browns at #6, so take it easy.

I do believe that AJ Green is number one on their draft board, but it doesn't mean that just because AJ Green is gone, they skip the best player available to reach for a need.

That's horrible logic. Heckert is much smarter than that.

Yeah, I would take Patrick Peterson, Von Miller, AJ Green, Nick Fairley, and hell, even Robert Quinn before we reach for Julio Jones at 6.

Larry, you know how i feel about our dismal pash rush. i'm with you man- but.........

Last year my dream draft was Haden and McCoy. Look it up. That's what i wanted. i had no idea that Heckert/Holmgren would be able to squeeze in two quality players between those two. They got an A+ from me.

This year i want Peterson. If he's off the board, then i'll trust whatever Heckert goes with. For my second pick, i want the Browns to take the best OT that is on the board. St Clair is a joke and i don't want to overpay some old veteran in free agency to protect McCoy.

There you have it. i've stuck my kneck out Chop it off. Besides, if we fix the pass rush, what am i gonna bitch about?
