  • I'm gonna disagree you with you on this Gipper for a couple of reasons. I'm not against signing a vet WR but for his experience but I don't know if it would be TO . He did have a good year last year but he is old and coming of knee surgery. He just brings so much baggage and with the Browns being one if not the youngest team in the NFL this year I don't know if he would be a good fit though. He does know the WCO and his best years were in the WCO. Maybe in a few weeks when he's ready and the Browns WR's still look bad I'd say yes. I'm sure he'll be available.

  • I'd be in favor of it.

  • Is TO even healthy enough to play yet??

    Sources: Terrell Owens had surgery

    By Chris Mortensen

    ESPN

Terrell Owens, who has placed himself among the NFL's all-time leading receivers with plans to play a 16th season, has undergone surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in one of his knees following a previously undisclosed injury this offseason, according to sources familiar with the injury.

NEXT LEVEL: Owens a Deep Threat

Although playing in his 15th NFL season, Terrell Owens led the Bengals in targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns on passes 15 yards or more downfield in 2011. His 14 touchdowns on those throws since 2008 are tied for the most in the league in that span.

Owens, 37, was unavailable for comment but sources said the surgery by noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews occurred within the past month.

One source said Owens was hurt while on site taping a television show for VH1.

Another source said Owens tore the ACL during a personal workout but other sources could not confirm the cause of injury. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, also was unavailable for comment Sunday evening. His brother and partner in the agent business, Jason Rosenhaus, said, "I don't like to deny stories or confirm or deny anything. It's really something for Drew (to address)."

Rosenhaus issued a denial to an ESPN inquiry last month about Owens' injury. Other sources close to Owens ignored specific inquiries Sunday night.

Owens has never made reference to an ACL injury on Twitter, where he has an active account.

Owens' 2010 season for the Cincinnati Bengals came to an end when he tore meniscus cartilage in his left knee Dec. 19 against the Cleveland Browns in week 14. Dr. Andrews surgically repaired Owens' meniscus on Dec. 20.

Sources said while Owens did tear an ACL with the new injury, he suffered no other damage to the knee in question and with intensive rehab he conceivably could return within six months, or around mid-to-late November, in a best-case scenario.

Owens has said he intended to play a 16th season in 2011 after catching 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bengals, who signed him to a one-year, $2-million contract last year. He will be a free agent when the NFL lockout ends but his injury status clearly places his season, and perhaps his career, in question.

Career-wise, Owens ranks behind only Jerry Rice in all-time receiving yardage and is third behind Rice and Randy Moss in receiving touchdowns.

Chris Mortensen is ESPN's senior NFL analyst.

  • I don't know about T.O. He is to much of a primadonna and I don't think he is healthy enough. If we were to go for a vet WR, I'd say talk Randy Moss outta retirement! He still has it and he is desperate enough to sign with anyone. Just not sure why nobody did sign him. He was talking during the offseason about how he would play with anyone and he even mentioned playing in Cleveland. I'd would totally go for Moss if we needed to.

  • Wow.....now everbody is jumping on the wagon to add a WR. Beginning of the year I argued along with WRREBEL that our wr core sucked and how pissed i was we didnt add any playmakers to our WR core. You guys really amaze me.

  • i'd fix the OL before anything else. before the season i thought the OL would be one of our only strengths on the team. last week i was amazed at the lack of blocking and protection.

how is mccoy supposed to complete passes to anyone when he is being chased around the backfield?

and shurmer said pinkston played well. ๐Ÿ˜† another quote that makes me think this guy doesn't know WTF he is doing.

well let's see what positives we can take away from playing the colts. i'm sure we'll be calling for the signing of some other player next week.

Heres the thing jake, one fans opinion is not the same as another. Just because 1 browns fan on this forum says something, that does not mean it is the overall opinion of the entire fan base. Now I'd like you to do some homework and go back to threads and find the above posters saying that our WR corps is amazing and we don't need anyone else, because I pretty much guarantee you will not find it. People have varying opinions, get over it.

That doesn't tell me anything other then that he wants to play this season. Last I had heard he wouldn't be ready till mid season. I don't think he will help us by then. I am still in the thinking to see what we have w these guys. I am pretty much ready to give up on ROBO, but I still think Little has a ton of potential ... Mitchell, and Norwood are relative unknowns and Cribbs has been getting better. TO wont make us a playoff team so why stunt the growth of the kids??? if nothing else atleast we will know what we have going into the draft/FA next yr and go from there.

Do Your Research. My first post on this site was about Free Agents. Go back to that thread and read all the disagrements I recieved when i made that post. 90% of the replies were against adding a FA playmaker and were about "building through the draft"

Soooo didn't argue with just one guy...it was the majority soo you wake up and smell the coffee

Gotta get back to work some of you guys are unreal and do not pay attention n run off at the mouth..quit amuzing

  • For everyones information jake and I did argue many times in many different threads about needing a play maker wrs.

Funny thing is this is the same shit that happened last year when I said we needed someone..

    Really??? Crickets again?????

I can give u the standard repsonse from most users when we said we wanted them to sign somone..

"We don't need terrel owens or randy moss"

This is what at least 15 people on here mentioned when jake and I brought it up. Yet we never mentioned to or randy moss..

All the people who baught the kool aid on the front office. I'm afraid to say heckert is a Retarded jew. It doesn't take a football guru to tell our wrs are slow.

Now its pretty much too late... so here to hoping robiske cuts a second off his 40 time!

who gives a FXXK? what do you want a medal or a chest to pin it on?

we've got a lot more problems at the OL. wouldn't it be great if mccoy could just sit in the pocket all day long like brady does?

Actually, YES, it just might help. Will it solve all the problems of the universe? No. But it might help some.

It's like, if you owe someone $10,000.00 and you find a hundred bucks. It helps, but it don't pay off your 10K debt.

I don't want money, and I don't want medals. What I do want is for you to stand there in that faggoty white uniform and with your Harvard mouth extend me some f#cking courtesy. You gotta ask me nicely.

actually we argued about the right side of the line needing to be addressed. But Jewboy heckert loved Pashos...

  • If we can't beat the manning less colts we may not win a game all year.

It is time lerner hired me.. I could do a better job.

First thing I would do is get rid of holmgren and heckert. I could hire tons of fluffers for everyone with the money were paying them.

I have built championship teams in madden for a decade and I'm always under the salary cap..
