Browns Will Decide Division

The Browns Board
21 7 1.0k
  • The only way the Browns can affect the division race is if they can pull off a major upset. Chances are the Browns will go 0-6 in the division giving 2 more wins to the steelers and ravens helping whoever loses the division race have a great chance to get a wild card. So I guess in a way we will have an affect on the playoff race.

  • The browns will deterime the draft order 🙂

The "lowly" Steelers are in the hunt for the division championship.

The lowly Steelers won last night. They were flat and played horribly. The Chiefs defense was impeccable and played flawlessly. That combination STILL gave the Steelers the win.

To assume that the anomaly you saw last night is going to be representative of how the Steelers play down the stretch is to either admit total stupidity, or total homer thought process.

The Browns will determine NOTHING. They will lose both games to Pittsburgh and they will lose both games to Baltimore.

Should Cincy beat Pittsburgh, it will have the Steelers all that much more hyped up against the Browns and the beating will be even worse.

CIncy has the biggest chance to make a difference because they can actually beat a division rival. The Browns can only lay down like a whore for our division rivals.

I have to laugh at your comment about The Ravens and Steelers are both counting on easy victories against the Browns.

Man, how many fkucking times will you people see as the opportunity for a Browns win coming at the hands of the opposition overlooking us and getting caught in a trap? There is no trap. The Browns suck. There is no secret, The Browns suck. We had upset wins against Miami and the Colts. The Browns haven't beated a single team with a winning record and they aren't going to start now.

After the ass kicking the Ravens and Steelers deliver to us, the Browns team will be mentally disengaged from football and will be a total pushover for the Ravens and Steelers in games two, respectively.

Good grief, after a humilliating 4 - 14, you think these guys are going to be motivated and fired up in the last two weeks?

C mon man, you're smarter than that. This season is history.

If the Chiefs had decent backup QB, they win that game because of their defense. We have a good defense but a porous run defense and that is going to be the big difference. Mendehall and Rice are going to run all over us and our defense will be out on the field way too long because Big Jen extends play so well.

Big Jen? Is that a Freudian slip, or did you mean to do that?

Yes, the Squibs barely squeeked by a team QBd by the immortal Tyler Palko.

Who knows, maybe he will be immortal. After all Kurt Warner and Tony Romo were undrafted free agents, same as Palko.

  • The Cleveland Browns are in a position to decide the AFC North Division, and quite possibly any Wildcard spots. This is true....even by losing. The other teams schedules are as follows:

    Steelers:

    Week 13: Bengals Home

    Week 14: Browns Home

    Week 15: 49ers Away

    Week 16: Rams Home

    Week 17: Browns Away

    Ravens:

    Week 13: Browns Away

    Week 14: Colts Home

    Week 15: Chargers Away

    Week 16: Browns Home

    Week 17: Bengals Away

    Bengals:

    Week 13: Steelers Away

    Week 14: Texans Home

    Week 15: Rams Away

    Week 16: Cardinals Home

    Week 17: Ravens Home

If I were to rank the difficulty of schedule of these teams, I think the Bengals would have the hardest schedule because they have to play 3 contenders: both the Rats and the Squibs and the DATs, though that team may not have a QB.

Next is the Squibs who have to play the contending Bengals and 49ers on the road.

The easiest is the Rats, who only have to contend with the Bengals in the last game of the year.

So, the issue is, particularly for the Steelers and Ravens is: "Where can they falter against the non-contenders."

The Ravens are fully capable of faltering against the non-contenders. They have done so twice already against the Jags and the Seahawks.

After seeing the Steelers last night against the lowly Chiefs, they certainly appear capable of losing to anyone.

No, it is the Browns these 2 teams have to look out for. Sure, there is no doubt that they will each be favored against the Browns, rightly so. But, just like last year when the Browns beat the defending Champion Saints and the Patriots, they are capable of rising up to a challenge.

The Steelers and Ravens are both counting on easy victories against the Browns. The one that falters is the one that will be kicked to the curb. If the Browns were to beat each of them once, then it would be a wash....though in that case the Bengals could creep into the mix. The Browns have already lost both games to the Bengals. That doesn't mean they will automatically do the same vs. the Rats and Squibs.

I don't think it will be meaningless. It will have some meaning, be it for a wildcar spot, the division title, playoff positioning, a bye week, a home game, something.

The only way it would be meaningless is if the Steelers lose to the Bengals and to the 49ers and the first game to the Browns....and they have absolutely no chance of making the playoffs even with a win.

  • Shurmer better get these guys ready for Balt & Pitt. Yes, we will be huge underdogs, yes Ray Rice scares me.

We get heat on Flacco this Sunday, we can hang in there, maybe even steal a win- it's that simple.

So get off of it already. I don't care HOW MANY if's happened in our favor, the Browns are still a shit team. One of the worst in the history of the NFL, 4 - 7 MOSTLY by luck.

If the Chiefs had a decent back up? The Steelers would have intercepted him or broke his spine. IF TROY POLAMALU didn't get hurt, the Steelers would have rolled. If Bens THumb wasn't hurting............

If If If IF IF IF................. the words of a NINCOMPOOP.

The Steelers won, the Browns lost. The Steelers have a proven histroy of getting deep into the playoffs over and over and over.............. despite Browns fans inventing reasons why teh Steelers are faltering, UNBELIEVABLY......... the Steelers team NEVER listens. Ha! Yeah, can you imagine?

Browns fans, THE EXPERTS ON WINNING FOOTBALL, year aftrer year predict Steeler Demise.. and WHAT HAPPENS????????????

Ooooops, Hall OF Fame Big Ben......... 4 - 12 In Holmgren We trust.

IF MY ASS dude, IF...... MY ASS.

If every goddamned IF you circle jerkers fantasize about came true, the Browns would win the SB every year.

But guess what..............Hte IFs don't mean shit.

The Browns are on their way to a 4 - 12 embarassment. They are lucky the other teams' if onlys came true.

    TO THE GIPPER...............

    1) I used Lowly, didn't mean to insinuate you did. But it fits if teh CHiefs are lowly, so to is the team that barely beat them.

    2) Just because I am taking the Browns for granted in losing all 4 remaining conference games doesn't mean the Steelers and Ravens are. BIG difference. I CAN take the Browns for granted because I know the Ravens and Steelers will be fired up.

Just because a team is fired up doesn't automatically mean they will win, or not be upset.

Like I said, two years ago the Steelers were fired up against a 1-11 Browns team because beating those lowly Browns could have possibly secured a playoff berth. The Steelers lost. So much for being fired up. Maybe outwardly a team is "fired up", but internally, subliminally they were still taking that "weak" opponent for granted.

Dude. Every NFL game has that shit in it. The Browns have four fkucking wins, and THREE OF THEM WERE LUCKY, with the opposing Jags for instance saying "if we make that catch we win"

And, 4 of the Browns losses were equally as "Unlucky":

Caught napping in that first game vs. Cincy

Caught napping on two special teams plays vs. Oakland

Messed up FG attempt vs. Rams

Messed up FG attempt vs. Bengals

Every single one of these game could have gone the other way if the Browns hadn't been unlucky....so:

As I see it, the Browns have had (according to you) 3 lucky wins and 4 unlucky losses....thus:

Karma owes the Browns at least one more "Lucky" win to even things out.

    Fair to say?

  • If If If IF IF IF................. the words of a NINCOMPOOP.

Ok enough of the ifs. Kyle Orton starts that game, Chiefs win. Plain and simple. Chiefs defense was lights out last night and outplayed Stoolers D by a mile. Just because they had a rookie QB gift wrap three int's to Stooler doesn't make their performance better.

  • And I thought the NFL was playing a dirty joke on Cleveland fans when I first looked at the schedule with giving us Baltimore and Pittsburgh 4 out of our last 5 games. So which one of these teams will put up 50+ points against us as a Christmas present?

Three of the four interceptions that Falco threw, I could have caught with two broken hands with casts on both of them. Put a quarterback in there that isn't an interception machine and Chiefs come away with the win. Although it still would have been difficult to overcome paid off refs like the ones were lastnight. You know, the clear fumble by Big Gay Ben the replay showed, only to have in NOT over turned and eventually lead to three bullshit points. Must be nice to root for a team that the owner cares enough to grease the pockets of the officals before each game. It has been happening for years.
