It's extremely hard to stretch the field for Weeden due to a number of things. First off you must have protection to do so, something the Browns O-Line hasn't given him a lot of. He has been very good at realizing pressure and dumping the ball off. Second, he must have a receiver that can actually stretch the field, another thing the browns are lacking. Trust me when I tell you that if Weeden had faith that the receivers we capable of making plays down the field he would "chuck" it. He has a gun slingers mentality but quite honestly, I don't think the Brown's skill personnel are very "skilled."

First of all, I'm starting a motion to put a moratorium on the word "moxie." This word has no place in a football discussion (can my duck hunting dog have moxie) and it sounds like a word a soccer announcer would have invented.
Second, if weeden averages 40 passes a game, a guarantee we lose 11 games. Did ya'll whiners forget about t rich already (please pump your brakes po G.) We win 35 to 7 and I have to read this drivel? Please tell me ya'll are steeler fans or something of that ilk.

The passing methodology, according to Shurmur, is to make it so that Weeden can begin to build confidence. Gunslinging 40 yard bombs with a 20% of completion isn't a great means of building confidence for someone who has never played an NFL snap. And, he definitely did throw some decent 15+ yard passes.

i saw a lot of slant patterns but nothing down field. i think it might be that ur receivers are still trying to learn separation techniques because i sure as hell didn't see them beating anyone off the line.
all in all though i was impressed.
fuckin packers went all in on fixing their defense and they still looked like shit.

If we don't do well this year Holmgren could be gone but I seriously doubt Heckert goes anywhere. But if the Browns really do go 11-5 this year like you now think then Holmgren and Co. won't be going anywhere. And you originally stated the Browns would go 2-14 so who knows if you will change your mind yet again..
