I'm all for Bernie being involved with the team some way or another but I'm not exactly sure how he'd fit in.

Maybe a scout? Kind of hard to imagine him being involved in coaching because he's never seemed to have any interest in it since his playing career ended.

As much as I love Kosar you got to wonder is this guy for real or is he just trying to latch on to whatever he can get while he can.

I've said half jokingly before that Haslam should bring him in as GM but that's kind of implausible.

It's more of a fantasy that the once fan favorite QB of the good times comes in to save the day.

With all that being said though, you never know.

Bill Belichick uses Bernie as a sounding board for O-line stategy's, playcalling, and personnel. Not to mention, Bernie told New Orleans to draft Jimmy Graham.

Bernie is a better talent evaluator then ANY person the Browns have had for 13 years

I would LOVE to see Bernie back with the Browns & I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Haslam DOES hire him. In what capacity? Who knows, but Bernie DOES have a brilliant football mind.

He can be a face, but Bernie isn't some great football mind. As long as he isn't a decision maker, idc.

He can be involved in the organization

I totally disagree. If you've ever listened to some of the preseason games where Bernie is the analyst, he basically can tell if a play is going to work or not just on how the defense sets up.

Would make a tremendous quarterbacks coach or even OC, if he wants to get into coaching.

PS Though it wasn't exactly Rocket Science, Bernie saw the same thing I did against the Colts- the run blocking STUNK.

The run blocking has stunk all season except one game. The o line has been inconsistent every game. Hopefully they get better because we have a lot of high picks there and we're not getting nearly enough in return for those high picks.

He could fill some role with the Browns, not in a coaching capacity, but maybe as a PR man to the fans. Most if not all fans like him.

Give the man a job. He's loved by the fans, he's got a good football mind, and he has some highlight films that can possibly inspire the team. Forget Cleveland '95 a football life. If you want the team to be pumped about being browns show them "the NFL's greatest games: marathon on the lake"

Personally id love to see him be quarterback coach, or, why not, put him in the box and let him do chilly's job. The man knows what the hell is going on on the field.

Plus, god knows, Bernie could use the work.

Seriously, the guy has an incredible head for Football.

He sits in the Booth calling the Defense and what's going on, what should be done to counter it, etc.

The guy designed plays live on the fly during a game (Denver Touchdown).

He designed a play when he was backing up Marino in Miami that they used to score a TD.

Bernie could easily be a QB Coach or an Offensive assistant, and possibly even on OC one day - he's that sharp.

I love reading Bernies tweets on facebook. He has incredible passion for the Browns. It's totally up to Jimmy, but i wouldn't mind seeing Bernie officially involved, even if he is just a "face". He knows football and loves the Browns, and the fans love and respect him ... I don't see a problem with him being involved despite what the Grumpy Old Men of the board will say.

I never heard what you say about BK and BB. They DO have a history, you know.

Any way, I've heard BKs been closer to the bottom of a glass than he has to the NFL in the last 20 years.

Agreed completely. Never seen analysts break it down as good as he does.

OK John- I defended Lance Armstrong way too long. Sure, Kosar can sound like he's drunk- sometimes. But like I was saying, it's innuendo- until there's more documented concrete "for instances". Someone saw him in a bar drunk? Doesn't count. Wife put on the divorce decree he's a boozer, or a few DUI's and seeing him staggering out of the local watering hole by credible sources 4 times a week, I'll buy into the rumor.

Some of my best friends are drunks, Larry. Maybe even me.

For the record I used to like BK A LOT. Time passes by. Fans remember the Glory Days - at least those after 1964 and see BK passing to Webster Slaughter, etc.

People said BK was smart. People said he was a genius by graduating with a BA in 3 years.

He lost his business. Not that smart people don't do the same.

BK is a nice memory. I suggest he stay there.

Make his a WalMart greeter, Browns style. If that is what he needs to maintain some dignity or sense of relevance, I have no problem with that.

People saying Bill Belichick consults with him to unravel defensive schemes is simply laughable.
