  • The amount of idiocy in this thread is actually kinda hilarious. You expect a rookie QB to simply just get thrown into the starting job and start pulling Aaron Rodger numbers? Hell, look at Tannehill or Luck this week. It's a proven fact that starting rookie QBs have a pretty damn hard time in their first year in the league. Why? Because the team they are on is usually shitty enough where they actually need a rookie QB to start. Our team is shit right now, but the promising part is that this is mainly because our team is unbelievably young. We need an off season with a developing team and a proven coach. Once we clean house coach wise, this can begin to happen.

  • Really Colin Klein i absloulety hate Weeden but hes not even going to play QB in the NFL...Miktoxic you were so agasnt RG3 and now you want Klein who's possible best comparison is Tebow in the NFL....Hes like a real real poor mans Colin Kapernick

  • i don't know if i'd take another qb next year. it's just funny to see a lot of fans here say "what do you expect from a rookie QB" when that's what they expected from mccoy. and when he didn't perform they blasted him. not the same with weeden. yet who had a better rookie record with the same number of games under his belt at this point of the season and had little to no weapons compared to weeden.

    just sayin.

I expect any pro qb rookie or not- to deliver an accurate 15 yard out when he has zero pressure on him. The o-line did an OUTSTANDING job of giving Weeden all day to throw. Made some, Little and Gordon bailed him out on some outstanding catches. Go watch the tape- Weedster bailed out on check downs- when he had guys wide open down the field he didn't see. I can't bitch abut not throwing deep- there were plenty of streak patterns that got bailed on.

Oh well, another nail in Shur-loss's coffin.

YOU ARE SO AGRAVATING WITH YOU BLIND ASS LOVE FOR McCOY!

The kid sucked..... Just stop bringing McCoy up everytime you post...please! 😠

  • Joe Haden lost us the game, and he knew it.

  • Weeden once again looked good when the offense was sped up for him.... They need to mix in the hurry up with him, he's comfortable and effective in it. The long drives that Weeden has put together have been pretty good. Lets blame kick returns that got called back for holding and the ridiculous 10 penalties that resulted in Dallas first downs. The penalties easily allowed the Cowboys to score at least a touchdown in yardage and cost the Browns at least one more field goal. That's a swing of 10 points because of penalties, something that Weeden had nothing to do with.

  • Has it been 2-3 games since a legitimate shot downfield? Can't recall a play over 35-40 yards downfield. Benjamin and Gordon can stretch the field. Think I saw one sweep with TR yesterday, when they get him out on the edge things happen. The play calling is so questionalbe and ass nine at times makes you just grind your teeth. With that thought the D line was lights out, and the Lb's were pretty decent today, as for my draft looking at CB,LB,DE now. Skrine, only thing he is good for is Tackles in a IDP fantasy football league. 😵

  • Weeden is a ROOKIE,. I don't care if he is 29 years old. He is still a ROOKIE. Give him some time.Give him the rest of the

season. He is going to make some good throws and he is going to make some awful throws. He did not lose this

game. That is on the defense which always crumbles in clutch time. It is on Sheldon Brown who is too slow to

play press coverage so he plays 10 yards off a receiver which guarantees a first down on every throw on

his side. This team DESPERATELY needs another corner and a free safety. They also need one more LB but

after yesterday DBs should be taken early and often in the draft. We only see the highlights of RG3,Luck,Wilson,

and Tannehill but rest assured they are all making rookie mistakes and all have more talent around them than

    Weeden.

BTW I am not even going to mention Shurmur's clock management skills again. Simply awful.

  • 3rd and goal at the one. Why not fake a handoff to TR and have Weeden run the ball in? Dallas jammed the middle both 3rd and 4th downs. Weeden could have walked into the endzone.

  • Look I don't consider myself a football expert, not even close. When my Dad and I watched the browns game yesterday (it got national coverage somehow), I correctly predicted what the browns were going to run based on the formations about 70% of the time. On the other side of the coin, I accurately called what Dallas was going to run (especially in the 2nd half) about 80% of the time. This isn't in any way an "oh look how smart I am" more so than "holy Jesus how is it that obvious?". I mean seriously, if a casual football fan can sit on his couch and do that, imagine what an NFL coordinator can and should do.

Dallas clearly adjusted to what we were doing in the second half, and the browns did the exact opposite. Tony Romo at one point in the 3rd quarter throw 6 straight slant/curl routes that were WIDE open. Couple that with 10 defensive flags for first downs (which was still just God awful officiating) and you're not going to win a football game, plain and simple.

Honestly, the fact that we're so close in these games gives me a lot of confidence we have talent on the field. Everyone needs to calm the hell down and realize that. Haslam didn't buy this team to sit around and rake in cash. He'll clean house and get a guy who actually knows football.

  • The loss belongs to our pass defense. We had 7 sacks against Dallas. Weeden didn't look great, but he was acceptable. 20-25, 2TD, no INT isn't bad. He did make some lousy throws, but he made some good ones also. The announcer didn't like him as evidenced by him bad mouthing him all the time. I think our priority is definitely the DB's.

  • Seriously? Yeh let's just get rid of everyone who is underachieving as a rookie. Richardson - 3 fumbles vs. 5 touchdowns and a very average 3.7 yds per carry. Probably not worth keeping, right? Luck is just tearing it up in Indy isn't he? 12 TD's compared to 12 INT's and 8 fumbles. The difference is Indy has a team that can absorb the play of a rookie QB. Sam Bradford's rookie year - 18 TD's, 15 INT's and 6 fumbles. Weeden gave us a 3 point lead with just over a minute to play. Our defense gave them about 45 yards in penalties with no time removed from the clock. The fact is since 2002 we have had ONE season with a winning record. How many QB's in how many games since 2002 can you lay that on? It's not going to change in one draft.

  • yeah and i didn't get to see all of the game but it went 'east coast-wide' when the jets game went final.

shurmur isn't the best BUT the offense, with gordon and little looking like all pros, catching everything that was close should have not been sitting on 13 points for 2 quarters.

and i blame it on the inaccuracy of weeden. weeden threw behind, below and above everyone that was WIDE open.

TR did his job. maybe should of fed him more and especially on the 4th and goal but weeden just totally sucks. period.

everyone has been trying to sell me on weeden and i've taken the bait, but with what haslam/banner has said that these last 7 games were his make or break resume', i'm sure haslam was NOT impressed.

see ya. mccoy WOULD have done a better job. period. those on the other side.....prove it to me.

my draft next year with positional players has changed from LB LB. to QB CB.

flush the toilet haslam this shit stinks.

Weeden was not the problem yesterday. He played well.....not great, but pretty good. I blame this coaching staff for at least 3 or 4 of the losses so far. Weeden could be a pretty good qb, but it seems to me that he is so intimidated by the coaches, and afraid to throw an interception, that it has really affected his performance. He doesn't look confident, and looks to be playing scared. Personally, I don't care who plays qb.....McCoy, Weeden, Cribbs, etc. I would like to see, for once, the team hold a lead, and not fold in the second half. I don't see that ever happening with this coach. When we outplay the opponent, and have a lead, the opposing coach makes adjustments at half time. Our coach is too dumb to consider that might happen, so we always lose. It's too bad...I was sort of impressed with Shurmer's emotional displays yesterday, when the refs kept screwing us. I think he's starting to realize.....when these players play that hard, maybe they should win a game once in a while. Skrine had a bad day, but from what I saw...and maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see...on those pass interference calls, the receiver was always pushing off, long before Skrine had any contact with him. The announcers sucked....they sounded like a couple of 14 year old cheerleaders everytime Dallas had a positive play.

It's not that they weren't adjusting to the routes, it's that we had to play with a cushion because yesterday we didn't have a corner that was good enough to even be on a practice squad somewhere.

"Rather give up the short pass than the deep touchdown" is all well and good once or twice, but when they can string together five or more "short" passes for a 50+ yard drive...it's time to fix something.

That's true. I mean I understand why the cushion was there to start, but it clearly wasn't working. The one thing I hate in football more than anything else is getting beat by the same play over and over again. I'd rather those rag tag guys get beat then watch Tony throw the same damn pass to the same person 5 times in a row. Just another Browns loss where we act like a 10-13 point lead is a 30 point lead.

That's the only way Luck scored on us....Helps build confidence I bet too...

dude it's a relevant example of what i was trying to make as a point.

i don't have LOVE for mccoy. i was talking about how the 2 qbs will be treated differently and the one was lied to by the FO and coaching staff. just pointing out the facts. 😛

  • Weeden is what he is. Not big but not small. Strong arm but not very accurate. Makes rookie decisions. I think his ceiling is a bit higher than what he has shown this year but he is a Jason Campbell not a Matt Ryan

  • I don't know about you guys but I'm down to see if Colt can jump start this offense. With Colt rolling and scrambling around and the Big Wideouts outside with Trent causing havoc in the flats and up the gut... Just seems way more interesting to my tastes than watching Weeden do the same thing EVERY game and constantly losing, losing and losing on top of more losing... I just can't take it anymore... Colt - Colt - Colt!! With Colt running the show we'd be 8 - 2 period. NO EXCUSES.
