Our Next Qb?

I believe the Browns need to take more chances if they want to become more successful. Everybody says that QB is weak in this draft. But we need to get a QB. If Weeden works out then great. But if not we have no backup plan. So here is a possibility for us to pick up our franchise quarterback for cheap. And he is 5 years younger than Weeden. Is football smart, makes plays in crunch time, and has the physical tools. Why not see what the kid can do?

It will depend on how good his workouts go and who is paying attention. Most likely he will be a Undrafted Free Agent. But This class is short on QB's and the FA options aren't any better. Do you want David Gerard, or Eric Carr, or do you want to take a shot on a 24 year old with your 7th round pick or convince him to come in after the draft. Either way the Browns should be paying attention and looking for a QB on the cheap like this. If they took this kid and he pans out you just hit the lottery. If not what did you really lose. Without the off the field issues this kid is a 4 year starter at Virginia. If so we are most likely talking a first or second round pick. He started as a true freshman.

Well, the Ravens took Flacco out of Delaware- if the Browns think the guy has a shot, why not? 7th round picks usually don't make it in the NFL anyway.
