  • It looks like round 1 is in the books. Looking forward to round two!

Are we doing 3 rounds? If not I'm done and I'll stop checking lol.

I guess we will see how this round goes. Hopefully a lot quicker. I may have a faster trigger on the time.

That being said, perhaps Z can pin this thread.

And Tim Couch is on the Clock for the Jagyouares.

  • The Jaguars finished the season ranked dead last in sacks, registering 20 through 16 games. No player on their roster recorded more than 3.5 sacks on the season. Luckily, this draft is filled with pass-rushing talent.

With the 33rd pick in the 2013 draft, the Jaguars select:

    Cornellius Carradine DE, Florida State

Carradine has just as much potential as any of the top pass rushers in this draft. Through his 12 games as a starter, Carradine amassed 80 tackles and 11 sacks. He averaged just under one sack per start at FSU, that per game average being roughly 4 times the per game average of the even the most effective Jaguars DE last season.

Carradine has all of the physical tools. His only knock is his experience, or lack thereof. A transfer from Butler Community College, Carradine started only 12 games as a first-stringer at FSU. When on the field, Carradine exhibited tremendous physical assets and a nose for the QB, but stamina issues continue to linger. A torn ACL sidelined him for all of the pre-draft experience, so this pick is completely based on faith.

  • With the second pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select... Zach Ertz...

  • With the 35th pick the Eagles select QB Florida State University E.J. Manuel

    Tight End from Stanford right?

Mdmusch is on the clock for the Lions.

  • Yep, I think he's considered one of the top 2 TEs in this years class. Ertz is considered a little better blocker whereas Eifert is considered a better pass-catcher.

I think the Elam/Ertz combo for the 49ers helps them pickup what they lost in FA pretty well. Delani Walker and Goldson's replacements should both be able to start and contribute right away. Of course, Vernon Davis is still going to be their number 1 TE. However, the 49ers love to go use their TEs and Ertz will fill in the number 2 TE spot right away, he'll make plays in both the run and pass which will help bolster that position into strength for them for many years to come.

  • Like Mel Kiper does on ESPN, I will list here my "Best on the Board", i.e. the ten highest rated players not yet taken. For my list I again use the CBSports.com rankings:

    1. Matt Barkley QB USC

    2. Menelik Watson OT FSU

    3. Jamar Taylor CB Boise St.

    4. Eric Reid FS LSU

    5. Jesse Williams DT Alabama

    6. Kevin Minter ILB LSU

    7. Margus Hunt DE SMU

    8. DeAndre Hopkins WR Clemson

    9. Arthur Brown OLB Kansas St.

    10. Alec Ogletree OLB Georgia

    11. Terron Armstead OT Arkansas-Pine Bluff

  • Detroit Lions select Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise St.

  • Typical Browns is on the clock for the Cincinnati Bengals. (He let his turn lapse in the first round, hopefully he will get on here for his turn)

After him are Royce Rolls for the Cards, JRB12711 for the Jets and KentLife for the Titans

  • Someone reached on EJ. But then again that happens with QBs

And sometimes QBs get overrated. I am using CBS Sports draft prospects rankings and they have Matt Barkley as the best player still not taken. But that rating of him, to me, is way, way off base. Someone here might like him, but if Colt McCoy dropped to the third round...appropriatley, then this guy is a 4th-5th rounder...imo.

  • Great value pick there with Taylor.. I think he goes in the first to the Pats in the real draft..

If he doesn't post soon, I'd propose slotting Cincy with Ogletree, LB, Georgia because Ogletree is the best LB prospect on the board - and the Bengals are so bad that they resigned Maualuga, who was by far the worst starting linebacker in the NFL last year. Note that Brown is an OLB while Ogletree is an ILB. Ogletree has vastly superior instincts and run defense when compared to Te'o. Yes, Te'o is a playmaker in pass defense.. but Ogletree is as well, and Ogletree had 3 sacks each of the last 3 years.

Ogletree's skill set is comparable/equal to Kuechly from last year's draft class, and Kuechly is already being called the prototypical NFL MLB.

But I'm just in the cheap seats until Gipper forgets the Texans pick again this round..

He will have at least until about noon tomorrow to show up. If not, we go with your pick.

Movin the Chains did their mock draft today and Pat Kirwan traded up into the end of the 1st to take EJ.. Hes forgot more about football than I know

  • Typical Browns lost his slot again. The pick of Alec Ogletree will stand for the Bengals.

Royce Rolls is on the clock for the Cards.

  • Ogletree would be one hell of a steal there

  • The Arizona Cardinals select Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse.

  • Well, as I stated the Jets three biggest needs were QB, WR, and OLB. Taking OLB in the first round, the logical choice would be a WR. However, based on this draft there's no WR or QB worth taking. That falls to the next biggest need, OL and specifically OG. With that being said, the choice is easy:

The Jets select Larry Warford, G Kentucky.

Warford is one of those guys who just does everything well but nothing spectacular. You can't find a major fault in his game, and he started basically all 4 years at Kentucky. He can play either Guard spot and is rumored to have ability as a back-up center as well.

  • Kent Life is on the clock for the 40th overall selection, 8th in the second round for the Tennessee Titans.

Per CBS Sports, these are the top ten prospects on their board not yet selected (using their overall prospect number):

    25. Matt Barkley QB USC

    26. Menelik Watson OT FSU

    32. Eric Reid FS LSU

    33. Jessie Williams DT Ala

    34. Kevin Minter LB LSU

    36. Margus Hunt DE SMU

    38. DeAndre Hopkins WR Clemson

    39. Arthur Brown, LB Kan. St.

    42. Terron Armstead OT Ark. Pine Bluff

    44. Quinton Patton WR La. Tech

    45. Jonathan Cyprien SS Florida International
