  • Yes the team is said to be a defensive minded team now but if they have that mentality it will be a long season ahead. First and foremost they need to keep there picks and use them on skill not a qb. There is no reason to take one. First the talent is not there, if it was an Andrew luck or Winston next year I would say yes. STOP TAKING QB's!!!!!!!!!!! First pick Sammy Watkins he's the best wr of the bunch. Second pick Carlos Hyde the best back in the bunch as well, and a one cut guy like shannahan likes. Third pick needs to be a right guard sure up the line and then defense, mainly some studs in the middle or another shutdown cb. If we get those picks a bum could run the offense, but remember we have hoyer who many would say what? or your stupid, but he is Better right now then anyone you can bring in. Plus he is already worked with Gordon and Cameron. And let's face it or d last year was pretty damn good with or stagnate offense they held up very well. And we are so close to putting it all together I would hate to be set back another few years by bringing a average qb into town. And just putting this out the watch josh copper if they keep him and use him he's the next Wes walker.

I agree a decent offense will make our defense much better, and I'd be willing to give Hoyer a shot at running the offense. I still think we need to draft a QB in case Hoyer doesn't pan out or gets injured again. Drafting a QB is guaranteed, we just can't be sure where they will do it.

The thing about drafting Watkins is that this draft is very deep at wide receiver so you can get a really good one later. I also think Cooper has a shot of being a Welker type player, but the word is he is inconsistent in practice.

  • carlos hyde might be the best RB in the draft but i wouldn't touch a RB until at least the 3rd. there is so much depth at WR and RB that the first 2 picks should be defensive. mack if he's there wherever we end up. then gilbert with our second.

  • Interesting - Carr and his family are huge Cowboy and Raider fans.

Maybe McCarron to back up Hoyer?

McCarron is more NFL ready, but I'm still a big fan of Garoppolo.

  • With DQ gone, wouldn't surprise me at all if the Browns go defense first pick, and OL with the second. A trade down would be sweet, depending on who's still on the board.

That could well be the case. Whatever we do I'd like to get a top notch guard. And as good as a running back as possible given the fact that there is no Adrian Peterson out there. But with a combination of guard and RB you can eat up a little more time on offense and give the defense more time to rest. Besides Ray Hortons failure I think the defense fell apart in the 4th quarter because the offense couldn't hold on to the ball. I don't know what the stats on that say but that's my guess.

Clowney should be versatilel and asked to participate in various differing defensive schemes.

Steve one thing during the playoffs was glaringly obvious by comparison. Other than Mack, the interior of the Browns o-line stinks. We need at least one upgrade at guard if we ever want to run between the tackles.

agree 100%. maybe one through the draft and one through FA (if there's anyone decent out there)?

  • if we do not go QB with 4 than we should get someone who can take away the other team's qb...Clowney or Mack would be awesome, pick up WR/CB with the next two picks and grab Chirs Boreland/Christian Jones as an ILB in the 3rd rd .... one QB that we could pick up with a later 3rd would be Zach Mettenburg from LSU, coming off an acl injury but showed a lot this past year..We should be able to address OG and 1 ILB spot in FA.

We need to add a stud TACKLE and move Mitchell Swartz to guard. I think that is a better move than a guard and leaving Swartzie at tackle.
