  • Never thought I'd be rooting for the Jets. But how nice to see Antonio Brown fumble. A little payback for that karate kick week one.

I can never bring myself to pickup or draft steeler players in fantasy football. Just don't have it in me to cheer for any steelers.

I was that "noble" in this, my rookie year...

    Never again...

I've done the same for years. I've finished second and third, never champ, and was next to last one year. Typically middle of the pack. I don't feel grabbing a Steelers player here and there would've changed it much. Who knows for sure though.

My nobility only goes so far though. I've been riding the wave on Ravens RB Justin Forsett this year. Lol.

    Twice.

For a guy who is supposed to be a top flight Superstar, he's really cost his team with big drops in the clutch.

Thats the second game this year, that his drops have been a major factor in the Steelers losing.

  • good weekend of football for me.

cleveland and ohio state win. pittsburgh loses. could've won the superfecta if tennessee would've knocked off the ratbirds.

Notre Dame lost in rather spectacular fashion. So, it was a good week of football for me.

  • I wish they'd have let Rodgers set the new record. Aside from the browns the pack is easily my second favorite team. Would have liked to have seen him set the new benchmark and I'm pretty sure he could easily have done it.

Horseshit call on that OPI at the end of the game. How do they call that on a hail mary pass?

you call that cause if it was allowed teams would huddle their WR's around one guy at the end of that pass and then everyone would push off and basically clear the area for the guy in the middle to catch the ball. C'mon that was a blatant pushoff. You can argue that the 9'ers guy flopped a bit cause he acted like he got shot, but at the same time if he doesn't do that the refs may not see the pushoff. Graham pushed off, and when a dude that big and strong just puts his hands on a DB for a millisecond he alters that guys ability to compete for that jump ball. If Graham had done that to Haden to win a game at the end and it wasn't called, Browns fans would be stomping and pistol whipping their TV's. The NFL calls DB's so tight now that it would be comically absurd to allow WR's to get away with that. Had any of those guys put their hands on Graham like that you think there wouldn't be a DPI flag thrown?

But it's a horseshit call when you bet on the Saints giving 6 points!

Well, he did push off pretty clearly. But I am not sure he needed to.

  • Aaron Rodgers has 6 TD passes in the first half.

36 points on my fantasy team :-0

He could have probably easily set the NFL record as it is 7 in a game. He sat out most of that 2d half, no?

  • is cam newton the biggest fruitcake diva QB or what?

guy throws a dismal interception and is smiling and laughing on the sidelines.

    what a dick.

He looks messed up. His online is doing him no favors, but he's playing like he doesn't care. Looks like a statue, not even trying to make 2nd reads, not sensing pressure.

Idk what's going on but it's not the good cam Newton.

  • what a difference one year makes. carolina was the champ of their division correct? top 5 defense....they look like doo doo.

  • Man. Newton got his ass kicked last night. 9 sacks. Looked like an old man out there.

There was a lot of talk and good info about how "running" QB's just aren't making it and lasting in the NFL.

Guys like Brady & Manning can go 15 years, while young guys like RGIII, Kaepernick and Newton are already looking old and broken.

  • Yup... Lone exception seems to be Wilson in SEA... and maybe KC's Smith. Wilson seems to have a firm grasp on the "better part of valor" concept.

Old Trent Dilfer was really ripping pre-game on CAR for their misuse and abuse of Newton.

  • i wouldn't categorize wilson as one a running QB. what i've seen of him in the pros is that he runs outside towards the sidelines and goes out of bounds as soon as someone is near him. i don't ever see him turn it up field and run between tacklers like rg3, cam and kaep have done.

Yeah. Wilson seems smart about how to use it. Unlike the other guys, It's not his plan. it's just the last option. Steve Young is another who survived because he was pocket first(and smart).

  • Wilson is interesting. I don't know if I'd classify him as a rushing QB, but he isn't a pocket QB either. He's had 3 games over 100+ yards rushing this year (WAS, STL, NYG). He always avoids hits when he does get past the line of scrimmage, most of the time getting out of bounds.

I suspect he does best out of the pocket because of his height it's easier to find throwing lanes and read the field that way.

Regardless, Wilson is a good QB. Not an elite type, but he's smart and can get the ball where it needs to be (Kinda like the guy we've been putting behind center, minus the rushing aspect).

500 yd rushing YTD including 3-100+ yd games say otherwise. You just watched his third...

Agree his preferred mode is slipping OB or sliding, that was my basis for singling him out. But I've seen him go head first when the situation demanded it... and his awareness of the situation is his difference from the Newtons and Smiths and Kaep's and...

While he predominantly runs to salvage pass plays against man defenses, I'd bet he averages at least one designed run per game.
