Browns sign Josh McCown to 3 year contract

McCown is terrible, but apparently our only "fruitful" option. McCown's stats and winning percentage from last year are garbage and on top of this he is 35 years old. Josh Gordon isn't playing again this year. Jordan Cameron wants big money or wants out or both. Johnny Manziel is in rehab. I will always be a loyal fan, but I am not excited for this upcoming season unless we make some big moves in free agency and make logical choices in the draft, but as we all know historically, that doesn't happen for Cleveland.

Tampa's online not only had an incredibly bad run blocking rating, but one of the lowest snap to pressure scores of all offensive lines.
In this offense, we will still lead the NFL in rushing attempts and McCown will be asked to make smart decisions with the ball. He has shown he's capable of that with the right surrounding cast.

I don't think that's the case at all. It may be, but there is still the chance that the reports about Farmer and Mariota are true.
The signing of McCown doesn't preclude us from drafting a QB this year. In fact, it kind of lends itself to the fact that we are, in fact, looking to groom a QB. Whether that QB is Manziel, Shaw or someone not currently on the roster is something we won't know until the draft.

McCown will be fine. He wasn't signed to be Peyton Manning for the Browns.
Apparently, he was signed to be as good? as Hoyer on the field, but far, far more
a mentor to the other young qb's in camp.

What that tells me is that they made his contract so he is expendable after Year 1.

Mccown is no good but what are the Browns other options?
They didn't commit a ton of money and the cap hit is below your typical starting QB. They will probably take a project in the 2nd or 3rd round and we can hope they guess right and in 2016 or 2017 they have their guy.
The tough thing will be watching Mccown as the starter next season and knowing that Manziel was a wasted first round pick.
