Marshall and Bowe

The Browns Board
37 23 1.6k
  • Marshall wants to go to a contender so unless the Browns were to trade and extend him at an alarming salary, he won't be in Cleveland.

    Bowe is done.

  • You people wanting Marshall are entirely insane.

The Browns already traded for a multiple year Pro Bowl WR in the middle of his career.. and you should look up his actual stats before concocting fantasies.

His name was Andre Rison.. and he was signed in the same stage of his career as Marshall.

With Andre, the Browns had made the playoffs the year before.. and his stats tell the tale. Rison did have the last laugh, though: He made the pro bowl again 2 seasons after his year with Cleveland.

And Marshall is far from a headcase: He's the national celebrity spokesperson for borderline personality disorder, something he fought and conquered.

  • Borderline personality disorder is a woman's disorder. Says something about that guy.

  • 100% incorrect, it affects women and men equally.

Your ignorance says something about you.

  • He'll be just fine in Cleveland. They will let him eat here for free.

  • Meh, more used up talent.

  • Marshall being traded to the Jets according to Schefter

  • Yep

  • yup to jets for a 5th

  • Wonder if this means Hartline is going with the Bears.

  • The Jets FO just executed a fantastic move.

By acquiring Marshall and cutting Harvin, they are keeping their fourth round pick and saving about $3 million in cap hits this season, while acquiring a legitimate #1 outside receiver. Kudos to them.

In essence, their WR corps just got better and cheaper at the same time, which is a rare occurrence. Now, if they so choose, they can use that 4th round pick to try and land a shifty slot receiver to fill Harvin's void, like Stefon Diggs.

Something out FO can't / won't pull off this offseason. We rely on hobos and random texts.

I think our FO has done pretty well with the WR position. They got Miles Austin and Andre Hawkins last year, and those guys were definite upgrades from what we had the year before.

For this year, Hawkins is still hear. They may keep Austin, and while they may not pick up Cobb, Maclin they might get a Cecil Shorts or Kenny Britt...or Hartline.

All of those guys are third stringers at best. Maybe they had a good year once, but they are players you wouldn't put on your FF team unless your desperate.

  • Jets WR aren't worth putting on your FF bench unless you're desperate.. or in a 14- or 16- team league.

  • Interesting, opportunistic move by the Jets.

  • Yep. Some of the other teams are aggressively trying to get better.

  • and they'll still suck.

The cheaper part and getting rid of the dead weight that is Harvin was good, for sure. But we'll see about Marshall-Decker seemed like a play maker last year too. I get some good ideas why they shopped Marshall but he's coming off injuries and his age are concerns. I'm definitely not too upset the Browns didn't make a play for him if they were even interested.
