Gipson pissed.

Locked The Browns Board

  • This is just a delay tactic until they can get a longer term deal done.

It's actually a bit like the Alex Mack deal with the transition tag, only they really want to keep him so if somebody really smacks it hard we'll at least get a 2nd rounder out of it.

We want Skrine back as well, but he's going to be garnering Starting CB money, so he's most likely gone.

That's hearsay CDL, you don't question the magical Ray Farmer and all his glory. That makes you a troll.

Why the fuck on earth would you want to resign a hardworking, talented, young player that WANTS to be here when you have the 4th most cap space?

Nobody is calling you a troll. We're calling you stupid, because that's what you are.

The difference is that a troll knows what they are saying is dumb but says it anyway. You just think you know what you're talking about, when in reality you're very, very, very stupid.

    @cdl15 said:

Actually I hope he fails. Maybe they'll bring back Heckertt. Funny same people pointing out all the complainers were probably the one complaining about MH and company. In hindsight they may have had this team going in right direction

This is, hands down, the dumbest fucking thing I have ever read on this forum.

I actually had a nice little response queued up for one of your earlier posts, but then I read this. Not even worth it.

Something to remember - when you're the only one agreeing with the village idiot, you might want to reevaluate your shitty opinions.

And u are????? I could care less what the ol great TCPO has to say. As a matter of fact I've never actually read anything original written by u. U 99% of the time just react one way or the other to SOMEONE else's opinion and then have the gull to call people a troll. How ironic!!

We SHOULD be the ones smacking really hard because he's worth it.

I'm tired of hearing how we can't get good players here and were are willing to let a hardworking young pro bowler walk for a 2nd round "prospect"

    Good grief.

That's fine as long as u get value in that 2nd rounder. Gilson is a Playmaker and someone overpaying for him now may have made the deal of the off season 2 yrs from now. For a talent starved team waiting usually isn't the best move in this situation.

He hasn't even left yet for fucks sake pay attention you fucking moron. Everyone has been trying to explain this to you but you're too obtuse to get it. He hasn't left yet. He can't sign with another team until we have the time to match the offer. If you want to get pissed off about him leaving, at least wait until he actually signs with another team before getting panties all bunched up.

What is it you don't understand? We are saying we are going to keep him. We aren't letting him go unless someone offers crazy money, and that won't happen now.

He just simply doesn't get it. He'd rather rant and rave like a dumbass then actually understand that he's completely overreacting. Nothing has happened and the guy hasn't left yet. Get pissed off when he signs with someone else and we don't match the offer. Until then....shut the hell up.

Okay dad, by the way it's Gipson who's visibly frustrated on his TL and instead of these fucking games of tendering why not just sign the guy and get it over with?

For such a talent desperate team it would make sense to keep your young pro bowler player at fair compensation.

Boo fucking hoo...he's upset on his twitter line. I'd tell him the same thing if i was his agent. Grow up and stop whining. Nothing has happened yet. He's a restricted free agent and this is how the business works.

They offered a fair contract for a guy who has one good tear and a bum knee. It seems you want us just to overpay just so we can say we signed someone. Thats how we get these stupid high contracts everytime a guy has a good year. Let him put a few good years and make a few PB's before we pay him like he's the best in the league.

Last year he was the 50th best safety. This year tenth. Next year?

No doubt. If he's worth more then the market will determine that and he'll get his.

Might be because the front office isn't exactly sure what to pay him. Established, top 10 safety type money? This gives Farmer a base to work with. If other teams are willing to make an offer, I'm sure Farmer will structure his own right around what other teams were willing.

In the long run, Gipson will be a Brown, he'll get paid and everybody will be happy.

    1. A bum knee? He suffered a sprain knee at the end of the season, he isn't on multiple ACL tears.

    2. Let him put in a few good years before we pay him like he's the best in the league? He's already put in 2 good years and entering the final year of his deal. If you don't pay him soon he's gone

  • Christ, this can't be that goddamn complicated.

  • You let the market determine Gipson's value so when the Browns give him an offer they do not over pay. If a team throws some insane contract out there, the Browns can simply bow out and take their 2nd round pick.

Oh stop with this horse shit, multiple people have been questioning this all day. I'm just not guzzling down the kool aid.

I'd love to see you at your job or career OUTPERFORM everyone else including other people at the same position at different companies and then when it came time for a raise your boss says "Well Mark O, I know you're thinking along the lines of 100K a year but we are going to pay you 30k instead. I know that YOU KNOW we can and should pay you 100k a year based off our performance but we just want to keep you motivated and hungry so we are going to pay you a SHITLOAD less, is that okay with you? Also, lets hope you don't get hurt on the job or anything, deal?"

The implication here is you that know DAMN WELL if you were in his shoes you'd be doing the same. Your outtake is fraudulent.

No I'm smart enough to understand how the business works and go out and see what the market will bear for my services. And IF i can get a 150k per year offer, I go back to my original boss and say ok, I got offered 150k for the next year, I'd like to stay here but you have to pay me the same thing and if they say no then I move on to the new place.

What part of that don't you understand?

    Dude what don't you understand?

The market has already been determined when McCourty got 5 years 47.5 million.

YOU DON'T FUCKING RISK ONE OF THE best players on a talent starved team walking away WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THIS FUCKING CAP SPACE.

For what? a 2nd round pick? WOO FUCKING HOO.

Can't wait for another Massaquio, Robiskie, Veikune, Hardesty type badass here

  • I imagine you don't negotiate when buying a car.

The market got decided when McCourty got his 5 years 47 million. I wouldn't accept anything less if I was the superior player.
