  • ever listen to a Belichick presser?

About the same mono-tone lame answers

Now, I would like to see a guy with Parcell's candor or Jimmy Johnson's fire, but we have what we have

It is what it is. I have the same feeling for Pettine as I did for Shurmur. No coach who wants to keep the locker room is going to call out players. This team stinks. The players stink. This isn't clock management issues or mismanaging players, this team is no good. Tramon Williams can't defend a trash can. Taylor Gabriel couldn't wrestle a rattle away from a 2 year old. Our awesome offensive line is average at best.

  • Seriously. Can anyone see a confident inspiring coach?

Every answer is "uhhhh this and uuuuh that and uuuuh we just didn't do this"

I'm starting to see the reincarnation of Pat Sure-loss. Gee- I don't know what happened. I do- MCown was at the point of spitting up blood, you saw it- or the scouts in the press box surely did. He's my warrior- well, your "warrior" just cost you another game.

By all means Mike- keep playing Josh. He's your meal ticket out of town. I respect Tour- and a couple other guys around here. ONeil is in way over his head. Getting outscored 27-3 is grounds for firing, We had the momentum, the home crowd, and laid a humongous egg in the second half. McClown didn't help the cause with that horrendous red zone int.

to be honest, i don't think mccown had the strength anymore when he threw that pick...he is just so beat up...and it wasn't his fault that turbin fumbled after mccown drove them a pretty good distance prior...the fucking team stinks...all the way around...

This board has given you 3,257 chances to say something intelligent. Baby steps...

  • pettine's biggest mistake was the inexplicable decision to not even make a true effort at a first down at the end of the first half. That gave Arizona three free points. Inexcusable. This is the nfl....you can't just give up three points like that. We get a first down there and we go into half 20-7.

I know some in this forum have this idea that our offense is 'overperforming', but yesterday they were below average on the whole.....yet again. for the third straight week. 20 pts is not a terrible total(it's slightly below average by nfl standards in 2015), but in a game with so many big plays on defense on both sides(ie game changing turnovers), that makes it even worse. For example we got one turnover at the ten yard line. The offense did a good job to push it in from there, but when you have opps like that you need to score more than 20 pts.

Pettine is likely to be fired at the end of the year. That's just reality. His only hope is really that Johnny catches fire when he decides to put him in as the guy....whether it's this Thursday or the week after.

Agree... we needed to stay aggressive there. We had 90+ seconds and two time-outs. A PAP on 1st would have been the time to take a stab at moving the ball.

its too late for that...johnny will not be able to save pettine. not enough live game reps. he'll be so out of sync. too many games left with teams that have very good defenses. it's over...

i know you are talking about pettine.

  • Well just listened to the post game presser... and shockingly I did not hear what Walter did.

There's still steel behind Pet's words. Overlaid by disappointment certainly... I'd expect no less after a loss. But despite that the only hint of annoyance was in answering the "trading block" question.

  • So, when Pettine isn't fired at seasons end, will all of you pussies fuck off? Or will you say "I loved the hire all along, he deserves another shot, blah blah blah" like the turncoat fucks you are.

  • lmao...you guys are delusional. Newsflash:

    1) this team sucks

    2) they are regressing

    3) If they keep sucking and regressing at the end of 2 years, that's going to be a problem in todays nfl

What don't you guys understand about that? The nfl isn't a 4 year play. Jesus.

No...it gets us another year or longer of listening to them tell everyone that he should be fired.

And it's not firing your HC every year either.

Your just butt hurt that Pettine won't start your boyfriend at QB.

If he's given another year- nothing I can do about it. If the Browns go 4-12 or worse- it's fighting the current owner think in the NFL. If we're still 2-6 come November 2016 with Pettine as HC- seems the "stay the course guys" are going to be wearing egg on face.

  • exactly, in the nfl today you can get more than 2 seasons if you go 5-11 or whatever for a second straight losing season, but you BETTER be showing some progress. Going 5-11 year 2 and not showing any progress/hope is not going to keep your job. And no, pettine toweling off a 37 year old journeyman vet at qb is not 'progress' for the future.
