"Gaines, a sixth-round draft pick, will be eligible to return to practice after Week 6 and eligible to play after Week 8."

  • If you had Housler and Bowe with one combined catch at the turn, you win a prize.

Bowe should pass him this week. He and Johnny should have a lot of reps together on the scout team.

This De"ante Sanders guy ... 5'9 featherweight from Tennessee St. ... can't say I remember him from camp ... but he must be practicing well. Maybe at his size he will be part of a two man team that will try to climb up to A.C. Green.

  • He looked pretty good in camp if I remember.

  • Got it, Chris...thanks...

Combo of bad short-term memory and not believing we'd use our designated return on DB #10 or so...

Is that who they activated when Housler put on DL? Is he supposed to be a WR?

He's a CB, you can click on the original link in the first post for more info.

  • When someone said that this team spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about the end of its roster....that is some truth serum right there. Here are the Browns transactions since just before the beginning of the season:

Has anyone dicked around more with the practice squad in a year than the Browns?

Are they going to let him use lacrosse sticks to defend?

OK, what does this guy bring to the table......seems at best an ST player. About the only people he matches up with are the Browns smurf receivers. Every other team has WRs that have 6 inches on this guy.

Seems like the invite guys in for a cup of coffee, and a tryout.

  • maybe they just need a CB till Haden heals and this is a guy they can cut without any concerns.....

IE...if we used Gaines, he would have to be waived to get to the PS or stay on the roster the rest of the year....???

    Just a guess.....

  • We have to cut or keep gaines pretty soon regardless. I think they get three weeks of practise from week 6 and then it's either active roster or cut/waived.

I mean, how in the hell do they know if any of these guys are any good or not? They have had a complete overturn it seems of the PS since the season began.

Can they really tell from practice whether or not these guys can play. I mean, its practice, not a game, not a game, its practice.

    (sounds somewhat familiar?)
