    Worst to first teams recently:

2014: Texans are in that conversation, and have gone from top pick to leading their (weak) division, not because of Jadevion Clowney, but the overall team.

2013: Chiefs were top pick in 2013, and went from 2-14 to 10-6 or whatever it was - in spite of their 'franchise' LT, Eric Fisher, being the biggest bust in a long time.

2012: Colts went from 2-14 to 11-5 by drafting Andrew Luck - but this team was only 2-14 because they had no QB, Peyton Manning got injured and they 'lucked' in to the best QB to declare in a generation.

2000 Patriots: 5-11 2001 Patriots.....Won the Super Bowl...Belichick and Brady came in together

1998 Rams: 4-12, 1999 Rams....Won the Super Bowl. Warner and Vermeil.

With the right coach and QB, the Browns would only take 2 years. 1984 Browns: 5-11. 1986 Browns: Should have gone to the Super Bowl.

We just need a Marty and a Bernie.

Again, just to affirm my comment what we're talking about (worst to first) teams literally happened 11 years in a row from '02-'13. There's a shit ton of precedent for it.

    jrb,

The rebuttal has been that many of the worsts were also preceded by firsts. Many attributable to the QB positon alone.

It happens like every year in the NFCSouth. This year seems to be an exception.

The Browns are like a high school relationship, you say you're done every week but you always keep coming back

They're in my DNA, I've lived outside Tampa for 15 years and never even considered rooting for another team. I'm too hard core and my family is too.

We had season tickets for 20 years and it was the best feeling to take the rapid downtown with your friends. I pray something good happens but then reality sinks in. Maybe qualified General Managers and coached don't want to risk their careers by committing to Cleveland. Could be.

Panthers went 1-15 in 2003. 7-9 in 2004. 11-5 and Super Bowl runner-ups in 2005. That's what real progress looks like.

Which is a shitty record. Unless your a Browns fan I guess?

We get that....it is hard....but when you are the WORST team, then its a bigger job than most.....and probably takes longer.....make sense?

Just because we've been waiting forever, doesnt mean some new guys can just show up and make it better over night....thats not reality...more like just wishful thinking and unrealistic expectations...

It would, except worst to first scenario literally occurred 11 years in a row: http://thebiglead.com/2013/08/14/nfl-worst-to-first-streak-at-10-years-who-will-it-be-in-2013/. That's pretty indicative of a norm wouldn't you say? (including chiefs)

We have a foundation for this team, and I would absolutely disagree that we are totally devoid of talent. The people who run the show blow and it's becoming more and more clear to me every week. I hate blowing up the team like anyone else but these guys have to go. With a right fit in the draft we could easily turn this ship around in a hurry.

Well...considering there are 8 last place teams every year...which would be 88 last place teams over 11 years......

and how many of the 88 did you say did it?.....11 or 12......because Id think the "norm" is what happens the most.....

and how many of those went from 4-12 to first?....cause a lot of them already had better records and were in worse divisions...

Sorry.....its not the norm....its the exception.....

And if your expectation is for someone to come in here and turn this around in a year or two.....yer gonna be awfully disappointed(again)...(and again).....(and again)....
