I don't think Shwartz would settle for DC. Hope I'm wrong. He ran the defense better than Marrone or Pettine. It would be nice to have an offensive minded head coach with Shwartz as DC. Let's put that in the "suggestion box" maybe Haslam will listen to the fans instead of the Homeless Guy!

  • I think we need to keep all the rumors in 1 thread.

Gase, Marrone, Teryl Austin, Josh McDaniels, Chip Kelley, Jim Schwartz...

I wouldn't mind Schwartz, I'd love it a lot more if he became the DC though. Maybe a Marrone/Schwartz reunion

    What about Shula?

Schwartz is a fucking turd of a HC. smarmy little cry baby who has already proven he can't produce the goods. I wouldn't mind seeing him on the coaching staff, but he's way too weak to be the guy calling the shots.

Did you expect anything any different? A good bunch of us said this is what would happen. Two years from now we'll be right back here again...

I agree it'd be a good hire. My friend played for him until his ouster and thinks he has the juice to do it.

  • Herm Edwards just said Mevin Lewis might be interested

I'll assume you mean Marvin. In which case I'd ask: uhh, why?

Tressel would not be a good hire, as much as I love the sweater vest.

wait, did someone suggest marvin lewis was interested in the Browns job? Shoot yourself in the dick whoever said that. Under no circumstances would Marvin Lewis leave Cincy after all these years and finally building a monster.

They did build a monster, and they should stomp the living piss out of Pittsburgh this weekend.

But they are historically bad in playoff games and against the stools....Another first round exit might drive Bungle fans over the edge.

(But no he isn't an HC option for us or anybody - even if he stopped being HC he'd probably move to an executive position with the Bungs)

But they have AJ McCarron...and not Andy Dalton. So the Bengals chances of winning a postseason game just went up 50%.

Bengals fans will not run Lewis out of cincy, bank on it. Thye've seen the fruits of his labor. They were in a similar position as we are now, no talent and no real history of procuring it effectively. Now Cincy is kind of a place players don't mind going. So they're getting some beasts to come play for them. You don't hear people saying fuck no I don't want to go to Cincy. But you do Cleveland.....and anybody that's been to Cincy knows how crazy that is.

We requested an interview with Hue Jackson, though:

    Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Browns requested permission for HC interview with Bengals OC Hue Jackson, per sources. Dolphins, 49ers also in on Jackson.

They still have to comply with the Rooney rule.....not that Jackson is a token.

(Should the Rooney rule apply when the guy doing the interviewing is Af-Am? Does the Rooney rule require that it must be AfAms that must be interviewed...just curious.

Did Ron Rivera's interview and hiring comply? He is Hispanic. What about Asian/Americans?

Yea Baby. Another Austin? Davis, Pasztor, Teryl.

Who the hell is Teryl Austin again?

And what about my question concerning Hispanics, Asians, Polynesians. As many good Polynesian/native Hawaiians that have played in the league you would think a couple may have shown up as coaching prospects.

I like him. I think he got a shitty deal in Oakland and could be a pretty good HC. I think he went like 8-8 with a shitty Raiders team and still got fired.
