Well at least the article has a hint of hope. If all the bad blood has been washed away any more cohesive attitude installed there really is nowhere to go but up.

I do wonder if coach Pet didn't play Dwayne Bowe because Ray Frmer forced him on the team.

If these guys were making personnel decisions based on spite that's a bad situation.

But all those people who said it was clear Pettine lost the locker room were crazy people right? 😳

Actually if you read the article you see that the locker room wasn't lost... poisoned, but not lost.

"Dansby said... '... it was in the atmosphere. It was suffocating. You kept fighting and fighting and fighting, but you know it's there.' "

A lost locker room doesn't keep fighting.

Eh, I think you're mincing words there a little bit. Poisoned, lost, whatever you wanna call it it was clear to me for a long time that Pettine didn't have the locker room under control. No matter how you slice it that's about the top of things a head coach has to be accountable for.

  • if they just flipped a coin in the draft room, could their drafting have been any worse?

I think you may be on to something there. Any Ag majors know if there is a way to get chickens to flip coins?

I once planted a crop of chickens, but they all died. A&M asked me to send them a soil sample. 😆

Is that a three hundred sided coin, or have they narrowed it down to two candidates already?

well you could do a whole NCAA bracket. Pick 64 kids you think might be able to play in the NFL and coin toss em. If you wanted to add veracity you could do a best of 3 or even 5 flips. Eventually you get down to the final two, and boom there's your draft.

anyone would say that with new bosses coming in the room. totally PC IMO.

let's see how everyone feels in a year or two cuz god knows the majority of cleveland fans (and the owner it seems) has the patience of a piss ant.

    pettine fighting with who? farmer?

i mean he's the only FO person let go correct? everyone else is still there so how will it be any different for jackson?

don't get it. sounds to me like the problem starts at the top. haslam had no idea any of this was going on? and for dansby to come out now with this like it is some revelation is kinda weak in my opinion as well. so it's the suits against the grunts (coaches) and they hired a lot more suits.

I am sure Haslam was aware. It's why he had to make the changes. Once well in to the season, there was no real point in making a change then.

I am pretty sure it was all between Pettine and Farmer. Scheiner and Brown weren't acting in that type of role.

Yup- the proof of that is Dwayne Bowe. MHO is Farmer's ego got in the way, and he wasn't willing to admit he majorly screwed up.

Really? We have no way of knowing but if I had to bet I would say the coach was telling farmer to go fuck himself.

Pretty sure the next roster will let us know...

  • Let's just hope this time we don't screw it up.

    SB 51 here we come.

    Wow. That's optimistic.

Drafting a QB first, playing him as a rookie instead of developing him and not fixing the defense and they're going to make the Super Bowl next year...

Not holding my breath on that one.

As an amusing aside to that thought, I had convinced myself of something many years ago that still haunts the back of my mind...

The Browns were the last NFL Champion pre-SB.

I came to the revelation that the Browns would be the LAST team to make it to the SB, but then also become the FIRST team to win 3 in a row...

Or will that be dashed after they win and are the last team to win the only-American SB... that the World Bowl will start the next year...

Maybe we should be drafting the QB from the Italian league's 'SB' champion instead...

If someone else has said this, and I missed it, sorry, but....

I think a hc and staff. implementing their system, and putting players

into situations and responsibilities that don't match up with what they do

    best...

would be stifling the whole football team.

And, that is exactly what Hue has talked about.

Just seems definate that Hue and co. will turn this team around

fast. Like, their first season. The players will LOVE how Hue sees things.

  • The Qb to lead this team for the next 10+ yrs isn't on this team.... Yet.

I hope so.....though I would point out that we had a pretty good 1st year turnabout with Pettine too....so years 2 and 3 should be the true qualifiers, yes??

showdown at high noon, both gunfighters managed to shoot one another and later died from their wounds...

this feels like forever ago. i can't wait for the draft. i love the draft! but making great selections and seeing them develop into allpros is waaaaay more rewarding.

    good old Dansby...

with Carlos reunited with Horton, i wonder if drafting an ILB is high on Sashi's priority page.

Dansby was there 2004-09, Miami 2010-12, 'zona 2013 and here after.

Horton was in cardinals coach in 2010-12, 2013 he was here. Never worked together.

I looked that up almost immediately he was rumoured, because I thought the same thing.

doesn't bode well for the grunts.

heh heh heh.....maybe hue can develop an analytic algorithm and input it into the flux capacitor....man, cinci pit and balt just love having cleveland in their division..it's a thing of beauty they say....
