Who is everyone? I was under under the impression Rexy loves Tyrod.

First player Rosenhaus has dropped in over 20 years of being an agent...

Doesn't he still represent Josh Gordon? I mean, if he's keeping JG and dropping Manziel, who isn't even suspended, how bad is Manziel...

Probably as simple as Gordon returns his calls...

Looks like he is the starting Quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

He's not great, but he's ... OK. And that'll get you work.

Derek Anderson might start for an injured QB this week too, doesn't mean he also isn't horrible.

I was wrong about a kid's desire to play football (at least he COULD play), but you want to keep sinking with proven terrible, shit players. Good luck old fart

The Texans quarterback single-handedly sunk the ship in Saturday's 30-0 wild card loss to the Chiefswith a collage of unforgivable gaffes that deep-sixed one drive after the next for Bill O'Brien's lackluster offense.

Off target and lacking confidence from the very first snap, Hoyer killed the Texans with three unforgivable picks and a lost fumble over the first two quarters of play.

Guess we don't agree on what "terrible" is.

A top backup who stays in the league for ten years and can give you a chance to win ballgames if your starter goes down ... I call those guys "decent".

Hoyer and Anderson are decent quarterbacks, not Top 32, but not far off of the fringe, and that is why they stay employed.

But you don't want "decent" as your franchise guy, that's why we sat them to look at Quinn and Manziel the first rounders ... that went well.

We'll hit one, one of these times.

    Zombo

  • Hoyer is better than Anderson, but neither are anywhere close to Top 32. Quinn isn't either.

So you don't think either are in top half of backups? That would put them in the top 48.

I think the feeling around the league is that they both are amongst the top half of backups.

Ya ... Quinn hasn't played for years and wasn't good enough to be a backup when he did ... so bold call there.

    Colt McCoy too?

    What about Weeden?

Lot of ex-Browns serving as backups.

At this point RGshoulderblade and McCown might fit in the backup mold.

Ya, they are #2's so they are Top 64 QBs too.

I think you know what you are going to get with McCoy, but you don't with Weeden ... I'll put it that way.

Kessler looks more promising than either of them did out of the box right away,

Or Anderson and Hoyer in their very starts for that matter.

I think we can safely say- the Browns excel at drafting backup quarterbacks. Now can we please draft a top tier franchise guy for a change?

  • "The veteran backup was 28-of-36 for 302 yards and two touchdowns"-yep, I'd call that decent. But we also know that he has those off games full of turnovers and fluttering ducks that miss the zip code.

  • To all you still sucking on Hoyer's dong: if he's such an excellent QB, then how come he's been cut by almost half a dozen teams? New England, Shittsburgh, Arizona, Cleveland, Houston - all have released him after 1-2 seasons with the team. Why couldn't he make it stick with at least one of those teams?

You have to be honest with yourselves, people. The dude is a career backup at best, and a fucking bum at worst. All of you rave about the good performances he had, like against Cincinnati and Tennessee when he was with the Browns, but your memories are fuzzy when it comes to his shit performances: like when he had 1 touchdown and 8 INT's over four games in the last half of 2014 w/ the Browns, or how he got benched in the 4th quarter of the first game for Houston last year and only got the job back because Mallet got hurt, or how he threw 4 INT's in a playoff game and ended Houston's season last year?

Don't get me wrong, Hoyer genuinely seems like a nice guy, but he is what he is: a career backup who can play for you in a pinch, but he shits the bed constantly when teams depend on him. He cannot carry the responsibility of being a full time starter, and Browns fans are wasting their time with these "what if" scenarios.

  • And another thing, it wasn't the Browns who wanted to initially cut Hoyer, he was the one who told the FO that he wanted a new contract and wanted to be named the starter going forward, even after that dogshit performance in the back half of the 2014 season. He was the one who walked away after the Browns weren't willing to name him starter.
