Scooby Wright is the Hidden Gem for the Browns
-
All you have to do, is start building your team with leaders/football players/mentors/character guys
who kick ass playing the game because they love it.
Once you start that, it's easy to build on it.
Trouble is, the Browns in the past never started it.

Why? You don't know what to do with your 3" dick, besides play with it while reading responses to your troll posts....... She would kill your out of shape, obese ass.

but they they were always too busy to go out with him...

You don't take a talent like Mack and relegate him to a spot like MLB exclusively. That's how you waste talent.
He's playing all over the place for the raiders which is what id let him fo here. But his base position, i would have him in the middle. Let him blitz when he wants. I would have killed for DQ to still be around for a year or two to play next to him.

So you'd move one of the league's premier edge-rushers inside for most of his plays. Not feeling the logic there.
Neither it appears are the Pack who can't wait to get CM, Jr. back outside.
Why Wright III will Boom for the Browns:
Due to Wright III’s instincts, he is able to cover up his lack of natural athletic ability .Why Wright III will Bust for the Browns:... he must do a better job of playing with control. Will Wright III boom or bust?I have no argument with the pick, but it does strike me that relying on instincts is at odds with playing under control.

Not really, to me. They're making the point that it was his instincts that allowed him to be productive, and he was reading right 8 or 9 times out of 10; but he wasn't tempering himself meaning the 1 or 2 times he's wrong, he completely over-pursues and gives up a big play.
At least, that's the general logic - not sure if it necessarily applies to Rooby.

Ghoulies right about how the org works. Fill important spots with lower round talent even though we have zero history developing them. We're not the steelers that can turn some kent st walk on into one of the best olb'ers ever. Or the patriots that can turn a 6th round qb into arguably tje best ever.
Khalil mack should be on this team right now and taking over the cpt position as the mike.

Actually, the Browns have done their share of that:
A. They got Tashaun Gipson as a UDFA and he became a Pro Bowler.
B. They also took a Kent State walk on and made him one of the best kick returners/special teams players ever: Josh Cribbs.
C. They took a RB in the 8th round......Hall of Fame: Leroy Kelly
D. Gene Hickerson and Bobby Mitchell were both 7th rounders.
E. Ernest Byner: 10th round.
This doesn't even mention the quadruple Free Agents: Groza,Motley, Gatski, Willis that they signed to begin the franchise that went undrafted by the NFL.
But...sure, Khalil Mack would look good here.

Don't see how you "temper yourself" two times out of ten. If you knew which two times to do so, then those reads would have to have been correct.

I don't know enough about him to know if he is likable or not. He is just too small, slow and weak. C'mon man, you know what NFL linebackers look like. This kid is going to be so badly outclassed, it will be embarrassing.
He is Rudy Ruttiger.
Too small, slow and weak. Ergo, he reminds me of Jack Lambert....who was all of those coming out of Kent St. Maybe he will be somewhere in between Lambert and Rudy.
However small slow and weak he was, he had enough apparently to win the College defensive player of the year award....over bigger, faster, stronger guys.
We shall see.
As I said, I hope he does well....and if he gives us anything it will be a pure bonus for a 7th round pick.

A team has to have stars, playmakers, guys for the young guys to aspire to hang with and fit in with. THIS is why the Steelers and Pats aren't really affected that much by losing players. When they bring in a new guy, there are leaders there to help them assimilate. We had the #2 and #32 pick and didn't come away a top player.
This is not how you build a team.
And....of course, as history has shown, we won't know who is a top player for a few years.
The last time the Browns had a Top 5 pick they took Richardson....who everyone thought was going to be a top player. He wasn't.
So, would you have been happy getting a guy that you thought was a top player at #2....but turned out to be a Richardson or Leaf?
I wouldn't.

Not at first but yeah id eventually move him inside cause i think he'd be right up there with ray lewis as one of the best ilb'ers ever. Id move him everywhere, the line would never know where he's coming from. I think he'd get 15 plus sacks a year blitzing from all over the place while still being oneof tje best run stoppers in football

If I had to pick between the two following players, I know which one I'd pick:
The first player being a guy who shows up on each and every game tape, making plays all over the field at every level he's ever played, with the last level being 'big time college football' (Pac-12/D1), but yet he didn't measure well in NFL's annual calisthenics testing program - The Combine.
While the second player tested off the charts at the calisthenics testing program, but for some reason, never seemed to show up on game tape, except with the one off play here and there, but with nothing special each game. On top of that, he only started as a senior even though he was at his school all 4 years...... Yet his arms are freakishly long, he long jumped the best ever and his "run around the little orange cones" time was excellent as well.
Welcome to team D Bone player #1, er, Scooby. Let's hope that you can continue to stand out on game tape at the highest level the sport is played.

You realize though that macks tape was off the charts and he killed it at the combine too. Yeah that one was wzy worse thsn passing on watt cause at least with watt you can say that we hesitated cause he played 4-3 DE and we were in a 3-4. Mack theres no excuse. He's be our cpt by now and running shit like a boss

I have good feelings about most of the guys we drafted, with the exception of the DBs, and the Princeton guy (mainly because we could have gotten someone else and picked him up later). Scooby was a favourite on here before we drafted him, got to be the most popular 7th round pick in a long, long time.
Kinda reminds me of Pierre Desir - hope he has a breakout year.

Chris, I didn't even have enough time to cry in my beer about the Steelers drafting Matakevich just a couple spots before we made what could be an even bigger grand theft.
When I watch film of Scooby, every time I'm ready to criticize his refrain from a text book tackle - he's opting to strip a ball carrier of the football. The very first time I saw film of the guy he was a very good high school RB consistently running away from and through defenders. The kid had a surprising acceleration gear but really good agility. The reason I bring this up is his familiarity with being a RB has made him very instinctive at not only stopping ball carriers but stripping the ball loose from them as well.
As I said in another thread, Nassib and Scooby cause a lot of fumbles rewarding teammates with lucky bounces. Some will say that's just luck but luck sure seems to follow their passion and hustle - at least on film.
