We need an experienced backup QB
-
NFL Network described the Browns FO as having an 18 at the blackjack tables and tries to get a 3 dealt for 21. Just plain stupid for leaving a franchise QB on the table for unknowns later.
And they mentioned Wentz going 8 for 8 when blitzed.

Why would we waste time and money on getting a one-year deal backup QB?

If we're winning now, odds are we won't be using our backup QB for anything.
I just don't get it.

Mike Vick - Rumor that Browns are interested. I'll take Derek Anderson however.
Please say it ain't so.

To spur on other discussion. I spent two years in North Carolina (just moved back to OH this past spring) and the fans of the Panthers loved Derek Anderson. Flame me all you want, but I would take Derek Anderson over any of the "floating" options out there right now. He's experienced and has an arm that could stretch the field and keep up with our receivers.

Panthers aren't trading Anderson, nor should we try to get him.
Then again, we shouldn't go after Vick either.
-
I read that as well. I really don't like Vick at all. Hmmmm, start him and let karma take over?
-
Also the irony of the Vick leading the Dawgpound...
-
I can see it more likely that we send a bag of footballs to SF for Christian Ponder or something like that. But only if McCown goes down. Down town.

Josh might just go 1-5 before getting injured?
-
Start McCown until he inevitably gets injured, let Kessler learn playbook more and more till then, start Kessler and watch the young man work

Its not winning. It is letting the rest of the young players develop. Having a veteran will help the likes of Drango/Coleman/Pryor/the other Coleman/Higgins/Duke/Crowell/Payton/Higgins etc. etc. have a chance at developing their skill and craft.
Putting Kessler in there will NOT allow these guys to develop. You must give them some ability to gain confidence. Kessler's inexperience and failure will be considered the failure of all these young players.
Give them a chance.
Also, it could help to give the kids on defense a chance as well.
Having a veteran, somewhat capable QB will help all the young players develop....and that, obviously, is the prime directive for this team.

Using a Euchre deck?
Had to look that one up-a deck that has no 3's (and other small cards). Good one!!

Not DA, but would seriously consider BQ to comeback and fill his rightful spot as starting QB......

It has aces though so you need to draw 3 of em for 21

People are going batshit crazy around here. Michael Vick is not going to be signed by the Browns. Second...The Carolina Panthers, who have plans on heading to the Super Bowl, are not trading their backup quarterback to the Browns. No chance in hell they or any other good team would trade their backup quarterback.

Vick could happen. NOt necessarily my first option, but it could happen. A younger veteran would be preferable. I did a whole thread on this.
DA would not happen because he is the Panthers backup QB. That would be as silly as the Browns having traded McCown.
