Ogbahs leading us in sacks...

  • Ive been waiting for a power edge rusher for years. Im tired of watching qb's just step up and buy themsrlves another 4-5 sconds

  • And i've been waiting for a guy who's more than just an edge rusher on passing downs. Ogbah was useless against the run this past week, as usual. Maybe he can get better in the offseason.. but maybe not. Perhaps he is now as good as he's going to be - a backup/rotational guy if the rest of the DL was solid.

  • I did not notice Ogbah vs the run so much this week.

I did see Cinci running at Nassib early and often when we were in out 4-3 look.

  • Id imagine they would run at nassib with that hand, force him to stiff arm the edge and see if that hand holds up. In any case, the run stopping is why i wanted bosa. Look uphis highlights from his very first game in the nfl against one of the best LT's in football and u see him make a play on the run that is as funamentally sound as any 10 year vet. Dude holds off a monster LT, chevks the play and pinches in when he sees the runner going inside. Thats the skillset i want in this team. The raiders game is no fluke either he's done it in every game. I dont think he's made a single mistake in run defense in his first 3 games, and still has 4 sacks.

People are clamoring for garrett but i dont care what he is physically and how he does in the combine if he doesnt have sound fundamentals. Right now i dont see anyone in college that had joeys toolset, not even his brother tbh. That might change obviously but right now if nick was coming out next year id be like if he's there in the 2nd round maybe but dont even fucking think about using a 1st round pick on him

  • OK... don't use a R1 on a true frosh... got it. 😉

Look... I've said Joey is doing well. He may supply you with salt to rub in for a decade. But pace yourself and keep your eyes open. He's made errors. Gave up the edge to a bounce by Freeman IIRC in the ATL game. Came close to running him down from behind, but no cigar.

  • He's getting better every week. 6 tackles to go with 2 sacks this week, he is up for Rookie of the Week.

This was the first game where Nassib was reminding me why I like him so much before he got hurt as well.

    Promising group.

We are playing with a practice squad secondary though. A healthy Joe would go a long way toward maybe this defense helping this team actually get a win.

Oh im gonna whip it in like a racehorse, trust me....?

  • Many deadhorses will be severely beaten for a long time to come i reckon

Yes... I believe that was a ragdoll. And the rag was former Aggie, Ogbuehi.

Do you mean future 1st round talent Ogbuehi that War was so sure the Browns should take?!

I was? Regardless, he is better than all our non-Joe tackles.

It hurts seeing home grown talent right down the road blow up in your face after the team has passed on them.

The Browns certainly have a tendency of doing that.

I mean, think about it. If in the last say 6-8 years if they had just taken the highest rated OSU player available to them in round one they clearly would be a lot better off.:

2016: Bosa, Elliot, Eli Apple all could have been had rather than the trade down for Coleman.

2015: While Shelton is a better pick than any OSU player coming out this year, Devin Smith...while not doing that well....is no worse a pick than Cam Erving

2014: Ryan Shazier would have been a better pick than Justin Gilbert. Bradley Roby a better pick than John P. Manziel

2013: Jonathan Hankins would have been a better pick than Barkevious Mingo

2012: Mike Adams and Devier Posey have not been great....but were better picks than Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden

2011: Cam Heyward would have been a better pick than Phil Taylor

(starting with 2010 and going back it may not have been the case)

Notice that the Pissburgh Steelers DO have a penchant for going after Ohio St. players...Heyward/Adams/Shazier all higher picks.

The Hybrid 275lbs DE's in Ogbah & Naz are getting knocked sideways by over 300lb lineman at DE..let them run clean with the 255 lbs.Orchard-less & Schobert's of the world. Got my $$ on OB & Naz to get there with speed

Did u watch ogbah take that tackle and put him in daltons lap? Naz too has been getting better at holding guys off him. None of em do it like bosa does now but we knew our picks needed development. Im encouraged that i see them getting a lil faster and stronger every week

What I saw was OB getting away with a illegal use of hands driving Ogbi back & neck to Daltons lap 🙂. Our back end sucks so bad right now, my point is get X.Coop,Meder,Shelton,Pena Hands in dirt (4). It looked ok when Naz was out with Balt/Mia/Skins (-30 per game?). Let Kirksey Ogbah & Naz go run down a RB or even better go get there a$$ to a QB (3)..My Bosa boner ended on draft night & when his mother opened her mouth about $$..No Way, he/she wanted to come to Cleveland..

Let's not forget the homegrown talent we brought in that blew up in our face.

Quinn, Frye, Robiskie, Craig Powell ...

    LeBron (oops, wrong sport),

Groza, Warfield, Motley, Lavelli, Willis (they brought in LeBeau but let him go) Jim Marshall, also let him go.

Dick Shafrath, Jim Houston, Tom DeLeone

Donte Whitner...some. (we could certainly still use him now)

(they tried with Spielman and Pepper Johnson)

    Cousineau? not so much.

    Don Shula.....John Carroll

    Warren Lahr.....Case WR

    Josh Cribbs....Kent St.

    Vince Costello...Ohio U

    John Greco....Toledo

    Ernie Kellerman...Miami

Not so bad here with all these.

  • Bosa is going to be great! Ezekiel Elliot is great! The Browns passed on both! Go back to a 4-3 for crying out loud! Browns defense is an embarrassment to professional sports. Their perfect season is going to be a reality and they better draft a franchise QB!

Get rid of Sashi and Podesta, hire some scouts who actually know talent and put the muzzle on Haslam! Haslam is no Kraft or Jerry Jones that's for sure!

Na, Opal still sounds like my Buckeye degree Wife yelling at me about my Fighting Irish degree in Drinking 😎 Cheers

  • Best our dfense looked was in the beginning of the season in the base 4-3.

  • Ogbah has come on, although he wasn't rated highly in the Titans game. In fact, he got OWNED by their stud OL. Badly. However, his two sacks last week were VERY nice, and his bull rush is getting better. We need our secondary to play better so we can get some "coverage sacks", but that won't happen. I will officially freak out if Ogbah gets two more this weekend.

  • I don't care what alignment they call it [5-2?] as long as they don't assign ogbah or nassib to "cover" RB's in the flat. Really, to cover anything anywhere.
