MNF: WSH @ KC

The Browns Board
24 9 903
  • I was thinking today that KC is in a great position to sell high on Smith. If they feel that Mahomes will be ready to start, there's no reason not to turn smith into a 1st rounder. Don't know if it will be the Browns, but someone will gladly take Alex off the chiefs hands

  • Yeah, this fanbase definitely would have been patient through the growing pains of Alex Smith.... 🙄

No, when he was up for trade or FA, there was talk of bringing him here and i remember being all in for that. But people were like no thanks his arm is too weak...i was facepalming hard. Every game ive watched with him i it i see throws that make ne go back a couple years to those pwople, not just in cleveland, who thought he doesnt have an nfl arm. Im just wtf were those people going on about? Cause he cant throw it over a mountain?

  • Good point by Cleave in that - if the Chiefs have a deep playoff run or, incredibly enough, win the Super Bowl... would they move Smith?

I suppose it would depend on how the playoff exit itself goes...

    All part of the hypothesis...

    • anything short of a SB win opens the door.
    • KC's CAP situation.

put urself in Smith's shoes, if KC can't pay you...will you restructure or stand firm knowing they have leverage cause of Mahommes? He risks getting traded to, gulp, the Browns.....he'll settle for less to stay in KC bank on it. Or some guarantee that KC won't trade him to the Browns. KC has an elite defense and wr's that catch balls thrown at their dicks. He's not coming to Cleveland.

  • Not saying it will happen... just had a feeling and checked to see if its plausible. It is.

As for Smith's choice... if he's traded he doesn't have one.

Restructure? How much of his $20mm would he be willing to give back for the possibility of not playing?

    Again... talking plausibility, not inevitability.
