It's called google and Rivals.com. Use them

I happen to know Anderson threw 85 TDs and had 17 picks in HS.

Scouting reports called him a top 3 QB in the country.

Maybe I missed these other reports you speak of.

Here's a tidbit for you to ponder while you find what you say you have access to:

Selected the top quarterback in the state and second in the nation by Super Prep Magazine at the conclusion of his senior year...Super Prep All-American pick and rated the magazine's 10th best player in the nation...Also earned All-American honors from Prep Star and Student Sports...USA Today Player of the Year for Oregon...Threw for 8,177 yards and 85 touchdowns, and completed 61 percent of his passes during his three-year varsity career

Hahaha.... that's funny, HS stats from a QB (Im talking stats here, not qualities or shortfalls) dont carry over into college or the NFL very well.

In high school receivers have such a huge advantage over cornerbacks. Usually in HS, where the talent isnt as abundant, the fastest most talented players usually end up playing WR/RB. This changes in high D1 college football and the NFL, where corners are (most of the time) way more athletic tham recievers.

Basically, what Im saying is that, when you have the two fastest kids in your school running fly, cross, and post patterns down the field with a cannon arm QB behind center, a high school defense isnt going to be able to stop it. When DA came to college is when he faced an actual defense where those deep patterns diddnt come so easy.

  • IMO, it looked like he threw that effortlessly.

  • @shepwrite said:

Kiper said very definitively that Quinn has an NFL arm and can make all the throws, ranked him #5 in that draft (I think). Scott Wright said Quinn's arm would be very well above average in the NFL.

Sadly Quinn isn't able to ride a wave of Charlie Weis pimpage these days.

Those reports were apparently before he actually got into the NFL.

Better than no one talking about you before the draft, after the drat, or in trade talks this off season.

  • My response is this plain and simple. If DA is not the answer and DA sucks then why can't BQ out perform him more than BQ had a slightly better day. I agree BQ will and should start this year, but if he can not outperform DA at more than a even to slightly better why are people getting all excited about BQ? The Browns DO NOT have their franchise QB in camp unless his name is Ratliff.

Put BQ in he will be less likely to throw a game losing Int, but then again he is prolly less likely to throw the game winning TD either. But if what the Browns want is a game manager then BQ is the better choice. Put him in and trade DA. Draft a QB in next years deep QB draft and let him sit behind BQ for a year and then take over. Trade BQ and use Ratliff as your back up.

If BQ is half of what people make him out to be you will still be able to get a good draft pick for him. As far as DA maybe you can get a 3rd rounder for him in next years draft.

Except that ball went through Winslows hands..... oh how you leave that out.

You got excuses for all three of those short incompletions vs Denver, or just the last one?

and hey I thought you wanted a QB who didn't make excuses, and who made his teammates better.

    I guess not.

Ah Lum, ya might want to text your honey DA and tell him you don't like excuses. Because he sure is lettin em fly.....

    From ESPN:

"Derek Anderson said the radio receiver in his helmet wasn't working Sunday, so he had to work with hand signals. Anderson said Brady Quinn, who was quarterbacking the White team, schooled White defenders on those hand signals, which made it harder for Anderson to work a drive filled with short passes."

My question to DA, Why didn't you think of helping/informing YOUR D like Brady did with his? Just in case something like this happens, they have the info and signals.

Ah, that's right...you aren't the cerebral type are ya? Well, I guess that's why Lum and you are perfect for each other. 😉

This to me is a perfect example of Quinn's high football IQ. He thought ahead and said "What if?"

Quinn probably told D'Qwell Jackson that "when Anderson stares down a tight-end for 11 straight seconds, that means he's going to throw it to him and you should jump the route."

Now there's a real cheatin' son of a bitch.

Quinnie is desperate to get that 11 mil.

Funny thing is, he still lost.

  • You left out the part that says "Derek Anderson said"...sounds like he's a little sour to me. I'm sure the hand signals forced him to throw the interception.

Debatable and completely off topic. For the record I don't care if Bartell is the starter. Myself and the rest of the browns fans on here just want to see the browns win some football.

what's to debate? Do you want Quinnie to bend you over or not?

  • It depends. Do I get dinner first, maybe a date. Is he rough or does he take things at a medium pace. Do I get a reach around. Too many variables.

"He" lost? You mean the white TEAM "lost"? In a scrimmage game .... Thanks to Ratliff doing the bulk of the work. Setting up Anderson at the 7 yard line. That was nice of him wasn't it.

you just can't come to grips with what we are saying Lumazz. We want the BROWNS to win. We don't really care who finally is the QB. But, we need to find out what Quinn is all about in REAL games. We know what DA is NOT and that's a consistent quality starter. He makes stupid decisions and throws. Case in point the INT in the end zone on Sun. to kill a drive. But you can't even acknowledge that bonehead throw. He KILLS drives.

But you gotta say Quinn blows drives because he throws it away on 3rd and 1. I'd take him doing that to get a shot at a game winning FG than a guy who throws a pick 6 and we never get our kicker on the field.

It's funny that you criticize people for bringing up Quinn's amazing stats at ND because that is "college". But, you just used references to HIGH SCHOOL stats to support your boy toy DA.

    HIGH SCHOOL!!???

I mean that is really getting desperate don't ya think? What's next how he only threw 15 INT's in Pop Warner?

Well he doesn't want us to bring up Quinn college vs. DA, other than DA's team, featuring Steven Jackon, beating ND in a bowl game.

It's about doing everything you can to win. It would be like DA telling CLE players what Balt. O hand signals meant when he first got to CLE. Of course sadly, DA probably didn't know what they meant either..... oh snap...lol

OUCH! Anyone got a bandaid for Loverboy? Forget the bandaid - he needs some smelling salts.

    - Tom F.

  • The reason that DA's High School stats were brought up was not to say he will be a good NFL QB it was to directly make a point to a poster that keeps saying that DA has had the same issues since he was in High School. Now if you want to talk about college (which ALSO DOES NOT MATTER) then you can say that DA has had a completion percentage issue and INT problem since then.

People seem to just latch onto the part of a post that they want to respond to and don't look at the context of it. I don't know if anybody agrees with me but I am not tired of Lums posts but I am certainly tired of the way people respond. I look at lums posts as a funny side track to the real posts. It is the people that attack him that keep making all the damn posts about what Lum thinks.

Who cares what Lum thinks? Lum wins either way. If DA is the QB then Lum gets to tell you I told you so, hahaha. If BQ is the QB then Lum gets to come on and post even more posts about how poorly BQ is and about how his was not a upgrade to DA. Every time BQ makes a bad pass or a bad decision he will be making Lums day.

To lummy this QB competition is gold. He wins no matter what. Lummy must be BQs biggest fan is all I have to say.

Even if that was the case which it likely isnt it still means DA failed to properly read the defense all a decent defender has to do is play off the WR and watch DAs eyes and helm direction to know where he is going to throw it...jackson and every defender in the nfl now know how to shut DA down...this is just another dont blame me its not my fault moment from DA and im sure mangini does not value excuse making...
