Kirby versus Quantrill. ... and a long, long weather delay......you need patience to be a Cleveland fan !

Despite a 4+ hour rain delay the Guardians also played into the 11th inning losing 6-3.

I saw the beginning but missed the late innings.....oh well. On to KC.

I remember once we had about 25 guys going to a NYY at INDIANS game, Guidry's super year won his ONLY Cy Young that year......I brought a nice AM/FM radio together with a a 5" TV in it. Sunday September 24, 1978, 4 days before my birthday.

BROWNS at Steelers on, I ended up with a small crowd around me watching baseball and my TV especially when the game went into OT in Pittsburgh.

Oh Cleveland lost both, Guidry W 4-0, 9 inning shut out, BROWNS lost 9-15 in OT and a really bad call. I (we) saw both. Attendance in CLE 15, 855, I have the ticket stub and program in a box (somewhere) in our cellar or attic.

Guidry went 25-3 that year, he's 72 years old......today August 28..... his last game 1 day before my 38th birthday, I'll be 72 exactly one month from today....creepy, huh. .

I'm so glad I saw both even in losses.

Dutch, and you have tickets for October 2nd....might be a very important game after all.

Currently there are 7 teams have the Big E, that's right they are eliminated from post season play. Golf tee times starting on October 6 for them, the season is essentially OVER.

Where exactly are the Guardians ? Well they currently at 69-64 .519 and in 1st place in the AL Central, whew right ? Well only by 1 game they must keep playing and winning. At their current pace they will finish 84-78, they probably will have to do better. With 29 games to go to go 90-72 they would have to go 21-8....that won't happen.

I figure between 85 and 88 should win the ALC depending on what MIN and others do. Keep beating KC baby ! The road to October baseball.

That was great ! .

.......Credit to Karinchak, who usually has a wild presence on the mound, calmly walked to the umpire, complied with the check, and carried on after the umpire gave him the all-clear.

As for Rocco on the other hand, it must be pretty embarrassing to challenge an opposing pitcher for cheating only to be wrong. .....

Nice call Rocco. Moving right along thank goodness the Guardians have future HOF manager Tito Francona.

.... ... CLE 4-1 FINAL! Another quality start by Shane Beiber

And CLE sweeps MIN on the road going to 73-65. .529 +2 over the CWS and +4.5 over MIN. A 5-1 road trip.

The Guardians return home for 9 games starting Monday 9/12 at 6:10 pm versus the LAA.

So it's 9 at home, 6 away then 9 at home to end the 2022 season with only MONDAY 9/26 OFF until then. Wow.

..... ..... CLE 5-4 FINAL ! Exciting 9th inning Clase in, 2 outs, 2 strikes and POW ! the ump gets a foul tip right into his mask. Shook him up, couldn't finish with 2 strikes. The other ump has to get his gear and get in. Clase warms a bit an 8 minute delay well strike 3 game over CLE W4. Some game.

I saw that Hedges interview after the game, I'm sure that feeling radiates through 100% of the team. Also why Tito Francona is the best manager in MLB !
