Guardians call up Daniel Schneeman from Columbus, 27 year old who has played all over the diamond. Basically, another David Fry.

Comes up in his first MLB at bat and lines a two run double on his first pitch! Cuts the Guardians deficit to 4-2.

    Second best start since 1999!

If I'm not mistaken, the 1999 team was the last MLB Team to score 1,000 runs in a season.

That is correct, the '99 Indians scored 1009 runs, the last time a team eclipsed 1000 runs.

How rare was this? The last team to do that was the 1950 Boston Red Sox.

That is pretty wild. I really didn't think it was that rare.

Off the top of my head, I'd have thought some of those 90's teams would have done it but that was all in my head.

Obviously, the Indians were the offensive juggernaut of the 90's.

Seattle - Ken Griffey, Jr, ARod, Jay Buehner, Edgar Martinez

Colorado - Larry Walker, Dante Bischet, Andres Galaraga, Vinny Castillo

Houston - Bagwell, Biggie, Camenetti (they may have been later than the 90s)

Oakland - Rickey Henderson, the Bash Brothers, Harold Baines

If, iif, if  the  90's teams had  true  #1  starting pitcher !   It's hard to continually lose. GAME #1   and then  "carry on".

With  a true  #1 pitcher + that killer hitting lineup  +  that good defence  =  muli WS Trophies in Cleveland, Ohio.  Period.

They were fun to watch from 1988, 1989 and on ......    I saw a lot of INDIANS games in the 1970s, 1980s at the Ol' Muni and on.   What an era that continues on to today's  GUARDIANS.       A (40-20) .694 +5  start is quite impressive ..... like the age old saying    ▪︎-->    " you're going to win 40,  lose 40  it's the other 42 in between that matter "
