2024 Guardians Playoffs
-
Guardians will start their playoff run Saturday October 5th at Progressive Field, vs either Kansas City or Houston.
Progressive Field saw 2,056,000+ fans this season in only 80 dates (the last game of the season was rained out, and not made up), the most fans the team has drawn since 2008.
-
And the Guardians have an opponent for the best-of-five ALDS...
The red-hot Detroit TIgers, who just beat the Astros to advance.
-
In quite a shocking development, it appears the Reds are going to hire 65 year old Terry Francona as their new manager.
Can't say I saw this coming... he's had a LOT of medical issues over the years.

5-0 Guardians before the Tigers record their first out of the game!

G's take Game 1 of the ALDS with Detroit, 7-0.
Game 2 is 4pm Monday afternoon at Progressive Field, with probable Cy Young winner Tyler Skubal taking the bump for the Motor City Kitties.

Another reason to hate the Yankees…if you need one.

Clase gives up a two out three run homer in the top of the 9th, G's lose 3-0.
Series tied at 1. Next two games in Detroit, Wednesday and Thursday.
-
Different game, same result.
3-0 loss for Guardians. Game 4 is tomorrow at 6:00.
Guardians have to win, or the season is over.

The Guardians will live to fight another day!
In one of the most entertaining playoff games you could hope for, pinch-hitter David Frye hit a go-ahead two out, two run homer in the seventh, then laid down a nice safety squeeze bunt in the ninth for the crucial insurance run for a 5-4 victory.
The deciding Game 5 is Saturday, time to be decided.

What an amazing, gutsy performance today by our Cleveland Guardians. 7-3 victors, on to the American League Championship Series vs the Yankees.
Mike, that one was for you.
