Guardians Draft Jace LaViolette
-
1st Round pick (27 overall) from Texas A&M - Center Fielder and all time career home run leader even with one less season than the prior leader. His season this year was not as good as the prior year, but he will do very well in the Bigs after some time in AAA I'm betting.
EDIT: He also set career records with Walks (169) and Hit by Pitch (15). He also had a lot of strikeouts because opposing pitchers rarely threw him strikes unless by accident. With 2 of their top 3 hitters out all or most of the 2025 season, he felt pressure to reach a lot to help his struggling team this year. Before the 2025 season he was considered a top 3 pick in the draft. The Guardians were lucky to find him this late in the draft.
